   Rude server who wasn’t friendly, food came out cold, avocado toast was hard

   When I arrived, my party was not with me and the host will not sit me until one other party arrived. The other 2 persons were coming together and was on the way. When asked if I can be seated he said he needs to go ask someone. Found that odd but regardless they arrived before he could come back. Then we had to change seats based on the fact of where he was placing us, my hips wouldn't fit in the handled seat (as I'm a Plus sizes woman) therefore we were moved to the back outside patio by the take -out side of the restaurant. I was pleased as it was a smaller patio with less people. Our server was absolutely amazing. She was friendly, helpful and the food was great.

   Everyone was lovely, especially our server. The food was good. The person I walked up to when arriving wasn’t very pleasant. He said,” I cannot sit you until half your party is here. And if they’re not here after ten mins of the reservation, we will give up your table.” Which was aggressive I thought. So I waited on the sidewalk, unsure if this is regular protocol.

   I’d been hearing about Old School for a while, so I decided to drop in for breakfast on a sunny day. The service was excellent, and the nostalgic vibe of the place really added to the experience. The menu is pretty straightforward, but I was pleased with my choice of chicken and waffles – classic and satisfying. I’m looking forward to coming back to try more of the menu and enjoy that warm, welcoming service again.

   Haven’t been to Old School in a while but today was the perfect day to have brunch on their extended patio. Our server (Zac(k)?) was so kind and considerate, especially towards my small dog. Ordered bottomless drip coffee and the old school burger, which was really tasty. Will come back for the pancakes!

   We recently tried Old School in Toronto for brunch, and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype. I had the chicken and waffles—sadly, the chicken was dry, over-fried, and tasted like it had been cooked in old oil. The waffle was soggy, but the saving grace was the blueberry pepper sauce, which was absolutely incredible—easily a 10/10. My partner had the breakfast croissant and found it underwhelming, mostly due to a lack of basic seasoning. As for drinks, the espresso martini was decent. However, we had to send back the margarita twice for being way too sour, and while they removed it from the bill, the replacement wasn’t any better. Overall, it was an experience we were curious to try—but it’s not one we’ll be repeating.

    We went for Easter brunch and had the eggs Benedict , chicken and waffles , the avocado toast and the to die for blueberry pancakes . Some mimosas too. There was three of us , my 8- year old mother and my husband and I . The music is great in the background. Just a fun atmosphere and very cozy.. we sat near the bar in the middle. I’d love to go back for dinner and enjoy the patio next time. Truly a great spot .. it’s not cheap but where is these days …. Bottomline great spot and fun atmosphere.
