Reservations are not required but encouraged, though we do reserve ample seating for hotel guests and neighbors.
NEVER! There was only one other person in the restaurant, as we went at an off time and we had to practically beg for our food. It took them 40 minutes to give us a basket of bread, which was toasted, to hide the fact that it was stale. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone and will NEVER go back. I felt humiliated for recommending it to my friend.
Very tasty brunch in a beautiful setting. Service was fast and thoughtful (I asked for butter & jam for my toast and server came back with extra bread - nice touch!)
The Old Rose, isn't like the old restaurant in the space which had a french-Moroccan menu and more vibrant if frayed at the edges ambiance. I miss it. Still a good place to go for brunch and an attentive service group.
Great menu! Cutest place. We loved it!!!
It was relaxing and the food was great!
A very peaceful place with the right ambiance and great food! Really loved the burger! The interior is very nice.
Was a bit disappointed this time at Old Rose - pizza wasn't great, service was pretty bad.
Repeatedly horrible service. Like the worst. Quiet and nice place though!
I would describe it as eerie chic - very quiet, not for socializing. Most people were working so it’s a good place for catching up on work. Food was good but options were limited
All the bread served were lukewarm at best, some were straight up cold. Rigatoni was blend and poorly cooked. Avocado toast was stale and barely any avocado on it. Meat balls were too salty and lukewarm.
Tastes aside, if you can’t even get the temperature right, I don’t know if the person in the kitchen can be called a chef. If this is the dish that the chef envisions, I am so thoroughly disappointed. There are so many great restaurants in NYC with great food AND ambiance, I will never return to this one.
What a delightful find, and one we were very happy with the food, service and ambience.
Fascinating history of place and wonderful murals.
A perfect escape right in the heart of Manhattan.
The restaurant space is very cute, with great attention to detail in lighting, custom napkins, foliage, tiles, etc. However, the breakfast sandwich I ordered was sub-par. The bottom english muffin was mushy from too much tomato juice, so it was impossible to eat as a sandwich.
The room is well decorated and feels smart and comfortable. The food was good if a bit uneven. The staff was friendly and attentive.
Definitely recommend for a quick lunch but off the photos we assumed it was the perfect place for a birthday brunch. It isn’t, they ran out of cake even though I had written in the reservation comments I wanted a nice dessert for the birthday girl and although our waiter was absolutely excellent, the one scoop of gelato with a candle was a little lackluster. It was free but I would’ve rather had the cake that they ran out of. Photos are misleading, don’t come here for any special occasions but if you’re hungry, the food is good! So def run in and get their chicken & waffles.
We had a fantastic evening at “Old Rose”. The service was friendly and prompt, the drinks creative and tasty, I especially liked the “White Star”. We shared a few plates and everything we had was delicious! The ambiance was fantastic. Definitely going back and would highly recommend!
Food was exceptional, ambiance was quintessential, service was spectacular. Highly recommend!
Very nice place. Really enjoyed the food. Will be going back
I had made a reservation for myself and three close friends, and we all very much enjoyed Old Rose. The food was very tasty, and the service was great! The atmosphere was lovely, and the space was generally pretty quiet, especially for New York. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience at Old Rose and would highly recommend!
From the moment we walked into Old Rose, we experienced a charming & pleasant atmosphere. The entire staff was professional, friendly & quite amenable to any request. Thank you!
Lovely escape in the West Village that will keep you asking, “Are we in Manhattan right now”? My quinoa salad had excellent avocados and fresh veggies, but maybe the chicken was a tad dry and there was no sauce (even I didn’t ask for any). Perfect place for brunch drinks 🍹 with friends. I wonder what the dinner menu is like.
Atmosphere was very modern, open, and bright! I came for brunch and it wasn't very busy at all. We started with the classic pizza which was very good and then had the breakfast sandwich. The food and drinks were reasonably priced and tasted great. Would recommend if you are in the area
Trop de bruit, service TRES lent. Nourriture correcte
Took my daughter for brunch for her 21st birthday. Restaurant is beautiful staff friendly and very welcoming . Food was excellent!! Loved the white star drink . We will be back again!! Thank you 🥂
Good food. Way too loud
Went to celebrate a birthday and witnessed the staff bring a dessert to another table for a birthday (mistakenly- it was not their birthday). When we informed the staff we were celebrating a birthday, they asked if we would like to view the dessert menu.
Delicious food, spring salad was fantastic! Service was friendly and attentive.
Food was totally mediocre. Not a lot of people for brunch.
I had pizza. It was fine. The pleasant hubbub of noise as I approached the restaurant turned into loud noise as I sat down.
Probably great if you want to go as a group and shout over each other. Not so goo solo.
The service was excellent, great food, lovely location.
IThe food took longer that I expect but beside that it was very good. We ordered pizza an beers. It was very good
One of our best meals in NYC during our stay. The host was very charismatic and made the whole meal really enjoyable. We are still dreaming about the meatballs!
wonderful food, great atmosphere, noise is low for great conversation! 10/10 would recommend! :)
The loudest restaurant I've ever been in. Food was fine, seems like a good place for a large group or just a quick drink at the bar. I'd rather go to ABC Kitchen.
Service was not good, orders were all wrong and the food was mediocre at best.
Cutest, coziest place ever, food is delish and service is great
Lovely restaurant with amazing and sizeable food. Highly recommended.
The noise level was so ridiculously over-the-top that my two friends and I finally decided to cut it short and get out since our heads hurt. Also, while the food is usually good, I didn't appreciate being treated rudely when I first arrived by the gentleman at the door. I made a reservation for 3 and had an e-mail confirmation for 3. He's fussing about it no longer being 4. It never was 4. Either way, you don't make the customer feel badly about something and place blame on them when they first arrive.
Great cocktails, pasta and pizza in a beautiful old setting. After dinner make sure to check out the Jane hotel, lovely place
Cute restaurant, but come 1pm it is FILLED with early 20-something girls and becomes so loud that you can't even hear yourself think, let alone your friends that are right next to you.
The food was fine, nothing visionary to it. it won't change your life. Don't get the matcha iced though, otherwise you'll be sucking up bits of matcha powder the entire time, because it wasn't thoroughly blended in.
Came here with some girlfriends for dinner and we had a great time! The food was delicious, the service was great and the decor is beautiful!
