The food was good but not worth the high menu costs. The room and the low lighting was my favorite part of this restaurant. Great place to eat then make your way over to the bar in the hotel. It’s a great place for a date or to meet up with a group of friends. Some of my food was a little bit charred and our server seemed to be rushing our time even though we ordered a full meal and tipped well. Really a lot of potential with the food.

We made reservations here for a Saturday night, two couples. They randomly were slammed which put us sitting back one hour. Service was pretty awful and we didn’t eat for about another hour and a half. However, the manager came over and was extremely sympathetic and comped our whole meal. It makes me think what had happened, usually doesn’t. Food was incredible. Given how management handled it, how kind they were to comp our whole meal AND the fact that the food was incredible, I will give them another shot. Everyone has crazy nights! Ambiance was nice. The room was packed but didn’t necessarily feel loud.

Not a great first experience here. The atmosphere is super cute but that was about it. There was only waitress for the entire restaurant so service was very slow. We were also asked to move tables after already being served drinks and appetizers to accommodate another party which we found to be odd and rude. The prawns appetizer was good but the pizza and pasta were very mediocre.

Welcoming and quant, Old Rose was an excellent dining experience. Food was delicious and staff was accommodating. The interior of the restaurant was just as tasteful as the food. Beautifully situated on the water, I saw on the benches before the meal. Highly recommend.

What a wonderful discovery! A beautiful room filled with light and yummy food served by warm efficient wait staff. We enjoyed a late brunch but we’re encouraged to peruse the dinner menu if wished to have a drink and wait for the change. Although we ordered standard brunch fare, the American breakfast and my friend had avocado toast, each was tasty, fresh and generous! I’ll return as soon as I can!

i visited this restaurant previously and had a good experience. i went back this past weekend (i should state that it was valentine’s day, so that could attribute to the poor experience) and had a horrible time. to start, the waiter was extremely inattentive while the restaurant was essentially dead. we asked him for his opinions on 4 different dishes and he said he would not recommend any of them. we finally did order and we received our entrees immediately as if they were pre-plated and sitting under heat lamps. they served us our appetizers about 45 minutes later, only after we finally tracked down our waiter and asked. a dish that i have ordered in the past and loved, was thrown together and tasted like they had forgotten salt. it’s a gorgeous restaurant, but i will not be returning

The vibe was nice, pretty decorations, airy and bright, with a lot of space and not too loud which is nice for a New York brunch spot. However the food was not anywhere good enough for the prices they were charging. Like $15 for an avocado toast and the "avocado" was like the guacamole you get from a plastic tub at the grocery store. Would recommend if food were better because the space is really nice.

I reserved a table for a friend's birthday celebration for 8:15PM two weeks prior to our dinner time. Our group arrived a few minutes before the reservation and were instructed to sit in the bar across the hall until the table would be ready in "5 minutes" -- we were not seated until 50 minutes later with no apologies or explanation. The management and waiter did nothing to try and make it right and served half of our party's food cold and uncorked a different bottle of wine than we originally ordered without asking the table if we would mind the substitute. Overall, a disappointing experience as several of us had dined here previously and loved it. None of us will return in the future. If you are looking for modern Italian cuisine in a trendy atmosphere, consider any of the other surrounding West Village establishments for timely and reputable service.

Beautiful space. The reason for my visit was to try the vodka pizza. Looked like cardboard had no taste. After being told about a food allergy, the server neglected to mention the arancini has seeds in it...no allergic reaction thankfully but two comped drinks doesn’t excuse that.

Great time at Old Rose - the service was a bit slow but the food and the cocktails were worth it. We brought a cake and called ahead to know if there were any cake cutting fees. On the phone we were told there was a $5 fee for the cake. When we got the bill we realized that the restaurant meant $5 PER person for the cake, so it ended up being a super expensive cake, because we were a party of 9. A bit disappointed with that, the rest was fine.
