Amazing food and wine. I love the live music.
Very enjoyable. Would have been 5 stars across the board except it was a little cool inside with too much air movement. Food was delicious and fairly priced. We’ll definitely go back.
Outstanding experience this past weekend at Old North State winery. Excellent atmosphere and ambiance. Friendly and accommodating staff. Delicious food, our waitress made some great recommendations. Good wine prices, huge menu of craft cocktails and beers. Great attention to detail. For example, my husband and I split a wedge salad before our meal. They thought to separate it into 2 plates without me having to ask. Those small details make a difference! We will be back!
OLd North State winery is our go-to restaurant and winery when we are near Mt. Airy. We have never been disappointed with the wine or menu offerings. We do enjoy the crab cakes and spring roll choices! The staff is always very attentive and knowledgeable. We will continue to dine the ONSW at every opportunity.
It was so great to visit this restaurant again. It was my first restaurant outing in over a year and I felt very safe. The Seared Scallops accompanied by mushroom ravioli and roasted Brussels sprouts was incredible. And the chocolate ganache was a perfect ending. ❤️
We enjoyed our visit today for lunch, service was excellent and food was delicious. Very clean and inviting atmosphere. We will definitely plan to visit again.
The food was very good!!! The staff were pleasant and knowledgeable. We had bar cocktails before dinner. The bartender was very funny and were were able to converse with local patrons from an acceptable social distance. Covid protocols were followed.
Very Good food and service. Haven't run across this level of customer service in a long time!
My wife asked me to fill out this survey because I was very disappointed with our dining experience. The quality of the food was good but the quantity of food was very lacking. When you spend $140 for a meal and have to stop at a fast food restaurant when you leave because you are still hungry is not acceptable! I will not ever return to this establishment nor will I recommend it to anyone!
Sincerely,
Thomas Byrd
Our party of four thoroughly enjoyed our lunch experience on Friday, February 12, 2021. ! The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Korey provided great service—attentive and yet didn’t hover over/interrupt us excessively. (That is something that bugs me). We will be back!
They have the best fried green tomatoes I've ever eaten (and I've eaten alot). They are sandwiched between homemade pimento cheese with a side of pickles. What's not to love.
Everything else was great as well.
We always enjoy what the chef has to offer and the wine selection from the sommelier. Fabulous food, wine, beer, service and ambience! It’s a regular for us!
Always an elevated experience. Amazing food, wonderful service, just the best...always.
The best crabcake I have ever eaten! Lots of crabmeat not much filler and the cake was huge! Side item of mac & cheese also delicious. My husband got the special of the day , a brisket burger that he raved about.
Great Evening out with friends! Grouper special was excellent.
Wonderful Food and Staff
The food is excellent as was the service. My only complaint is that the music was too loud. I was unable to quietly talk with my table mates. The music was well done but it was just a little too loud.
Also, the staff is taking all the right precautions during the pandemic. Masks, table distancing, hand sanitizer, etc.
We went for lunch and to pick up “afternoon delight “ wine for my parents for Christmas. Lunch was delicious. I enjoyed the swordfish sandwich and my husband had the wedge salad. We had the best creme brûlée ever in a restaurant. The sugar crust cracked beautifully. It is obvious fresh eggs are used as the creme had a wonderful yellow color. Our server was friendly and attentive to our table. The bonus of the day, hand sanitizer on the table. Great touch! As a healthcare provider, it is nice to see a public institution going this extra step. We will definitely return after the holidays.
Our waiter was super friendly and very knowledgeable about the food and wine! We started with a cheeseboard. It was so yummy! I had the stripe bass with shrimp and grits... it was amazing! My husband ordered the NY strip which was cooked perfectly. He only wished that it had been seasoned a little more. Unfortunately, neither one of us saved room for dessert. We will definitely come back!
Food is delicious and presented in an appetizing manner. Service is top notch.
Outstanding food, excellent service. Will absolutely be back!
We’ve eaten here many times. Could be the best ever. We had the best flounder ever. Also the oyster salad was unbelievable. The shrimp egg rolls and ahi tuna were fabulous too. What more can I say. Never disappointed here. Chris is a fabulous chef.
Delicious food, nice wine, and lovely outdoor deck for safe gathering with friends.
Wonderful food and outstanding service!
Great food and great service!! We really enjoyed it! Highly recommend!!
We’ve eaten here numerous times. The food is always consistent and exceptional. Chris is a excellent chef and his food choices are always fabulous.
We tried the Halibut special and it was excellent!
Both the food and service were wonderful! Awesome dining experience!
Great food and friendly service. Following COVID-19 protocols.
Only complaint was when we arrived the hostess didn't have us down for a standard table and went to sit us at high top. Fortunately she was able to make accomodations fairly quickly.
We had a wonderful experience. We were close to the wait staff station, and it was hectic and distracting at times. Our server was excellent and paired wines beautifully with our meal. We will refer this restaurant to others and definitely return.
Food and service was excellent. Very happy with COVID protocols taken to keep customers dafe.
Our soup was cold, we had to send it back to be reheated. Our sandwiches were
greasy, I literally had grease running down my arm! The music was good, while very very loud. We found ourselves shouting to hear one another-then the music would stop, and there we were still shouting!
My husband and I stopped in on Saturday for his birthday after hitting the Mayberry Distillery around the corner. Old North State is a quiet little restaurant and winery tucked away in downtown Mt Airy with quaint charm and warm ambience. Our server, Savannah, was on point and a wonderful addition to our night. If you like a deep red wine I recommend the Old Gentleman Merlot, my husband loved it, or for a lighter blend, go with the Soul, which was my favorite. We both had the Ribeye which was cooked to perfection! The potatoes on my husbands plate were tucked away under his steak and "to die for", he said, while I had the bacon cooked brussel sprouts, yum! We will definitely be back for the wine tour and chefs table soon!
It was our first visit. We’ve wanted to dine here for sometime, but finally made it happen. We are glad we did. The service was excellent and scallops were delicious! We looking forward to telling our friends and bringing them for a visit v
This place is a real hidden gem, the food was fantastic and the desserts were out of this world. we will definitely be back anytime we are in Mount Airy.
My wife and I ate at oldNorth State for her birthday. We were greeted very graciously and seated promptly. Our waitperson came to our table and waited on us with outstanding care. The food was fantastic and as well as our plates were decorated extremely well by the chefs. Noise level was a little on the noisy side. Everything else outweigh the noise. plan to return.
A bit noisy and busy (Valentine’s Day dinner), but service was friendly and efficient and food was well prepared and tasty. They have some very acceptable house wines (from which you may request a taste if unfamiliar), as well as a very reasonably priced and varied wine menu beyond the Old North State wines. Price is quite reasonable for the quality. Definitely worth return visit(s) when in the area.
This was our second visit to Old North State Winery, and we are delighted to say we had another fantastic dining experience! Their chef created dishes are so delicious, and the plate presentations are beautiful. The ambiance is perfect for a romantic dinner, and the service is impeccable! Thank you for another romantic evening!
The best food and atmosphere in Mount Airy. Even with a large birthday party going on the noise level was acceptable. Excellent fish and crab cakes. Will come back again.
