   Old Maryland Grill has a thorough menu and an extensive wine list. Good ambiance for casual dining or a special occasion. Located in a hotel lobby so is definitely a good choice for those staying there. NY strip steak was cooked just right!

   Went here for brunch and got a seat at the bar. Found out that they no longer have an oyster program and quite honestly, their menu has become more 'standard' the longer they have been open. It is now basically an American menu with a little bit of Maryland flair. We were waited on with good bar service and was able to order off of the brunch menu. While the food is still good the overall menu shift has made other restaurants more desirable. While if you are a guest at the Hotel, you will not have to go far for good food, as a more local resident, there are other options at this point. I will check back in at some point as the bartenders are great, but probably for a happy hour that does look promising.

   The clam chowder was literally the best I’ve ever had. The crab cakes will make you say omg. Please bring back oysters 🙏

   Our Christmas Dinner at Old Maryland Grill was perfect! We had our two little ones with us and had a wonderful booth! It was quiet and the service from staff and food were both excellent. We would love to bring more of our family here when they come to town to visit.

   College Park does not have a large amount of 'nice' restaurants available (proximity to a university most likely dictates this). However, I had dined previously (about two years ago) with my mother and she was looking forward to returning since she was in town to see her grandson. Everything was fine, and I suppose there is no reason to write a mediocre review, except I remember this restaurant use to have a focus on 'local', touting local farms as the source for all the seafood, meat and the vast majority of vegetables. I even had a very drinkable glass of Maryland wine! Now, it seems, they are using foodservice companies and 'safe' offerings (spicy fried cauliflower that almost assuredly came already prepared, frozen, in a bag - to dump straight in the deep fryer), like every other 'decent' hotel restaurant. Nothing particularly wrong with it, but nothing to make it stand out either. I can only guess that the 'local' concept did not work and that was cause for a change.

   The past two times that we visited my son at the University we went to Burtons. I wanted to find a new place to experience and knowing that The Hotel had such a great reputation I figured we would try the Old Maryland Grill. I was rather disappointed not only in my meal but trying the kids meals. My one son got the crabcakes. They were nothing to write home about. Two of my kids ordered the fried chicken with the macaroni and cheese. The macaroni and cheese was very bland and needed something for flavor. The fried chicken was OK but again there was no seasoning in the breading so it was highly bland. My husband and I both got the Cobb salad. I felt like a cow grazing on a ton of greens with again, no flavor. The green goddess dressing had absolutely no flavor to it. other Cobb salads that I have had had blue cheese dressing.For being in such a beautiful hotel they definitely need to up there game on the food. For the prices, to be so incredibly tasteless it was not worth it. I have paid in upwards of $300 for the five of us to go out to a meal and totally appreciated every mouthful. We will not be backAnd I would not recommend.

   We have been to this restaurant several times and have always enjoyed our experience. Our only concern is that the noise level is always very high (our poor timing, I suppose). My husband has a hearing problem and at times he cannot hear what his grandchildren (UMD Students) are saying as the noise is too loud.

   When we got there for our Saturday 8 pm reservation, the host warned us that the kitchen was running about an hour behind. We should have left but decided to stay because options are limited around the university. They were correct, food service was very slow but the reason for the low rating is really because the quality of the meal was poor for the high prices of the food. We were expecting better. My son’s steak frite, $26, was overdone. My husband’s salmon $24, was just average. The waitress was friendly and attentive, but we will not be going back.

   Worst experience I’ve had in a long time. Service was terrible. Kitchen couldn’t get hot food out.

    The menu is limited. It’s located in a great hotel. Would be great if the restaurant was as nice as the hotel.
