If you’re going to do Old Major, do it for an afternoon happy hour on the patio.
Old Major continues to be one of the shining stars in the Denver dining scene. You can always count on fantastic cocktails/beer/wine and innovative/delious food. Fresh ingredients, unique flavor profiles, and interesting menu choices make for a memorable meal. Old Major ALWAYS delivers.
Great meal, 1/2 price bottles of wine on Wednesdays, crazy good!
Amazing food. Tasting menu is definitely the way to go! Will be back again.
Always a wonderful experience with amazing service and excellent food!
Old Major does not disappoint! The service was great! Gene the General Manager stopped by our table to checked on us as our friends have a lot of allergies. They were very accommodating with their needs. The drinks were amazing and were served with amazing large ice cubes. The food was presented wonderfully and all was great! Attention to detail at every corner! I’ve been wanting to check out Old Major for quite some time and am very happy we finally were able to make it. Phenomenal job and a huge thanks to the entire team!
Waitress was extremely friendly and helpful. Nice atmosphere, the food was amazing, especially the bacon!
Service wasn’t the best...had to wait a while for a server to acknowledge us. Fried chicken was the best.
Poor experience on a Friday evening. Ordered 4 small plates and food never came out, so we left after 90 minutes! 15-20 min after the order, we were told they ran out of one of the plates. We brought the wait up with the waiter 2x, but nothing. We cut our losses and paid for the drinks.
I felt the wine was terribly expensive. The food was very good quality but again very expensive.
We went to try the Lobster Poutine and it had been taken off the menu.
Truly one of the best meals I've ever had. I would recommend this place for everyone
The food is excellent, the vibe stellar, love the open kitchen, BUT... if you’re going to allow me to see into your kitchen, why would you want me to notice that one of your cooks has a 5 inch long sweaty shaggy beard, with no net, or anything covering it to ensure that his DNA follicles will not land in my fried chicken? 🤢 Because of this, not sure I’ll be back, despite the stellar cuisine, excellent ambience, and exceptional service by Peggy Sue. I know beards are trendy and all the rage in hot happening Denver, but they do in fact harbor various forms of bacteria, skin follicles, and whatever else you can probably imagine, depending on what said cook did the night before or how he maintains his personal hygiene. How about let’s make a deal... have this fella cover his beard, and I’ll be back for plenty more. If not, maybe all done. Despite this little disturbance in the force, I have given you honest high ratings in all categories! I’ve greatly enjoyed my dining experiences at Old Major. Thanks! Peace!
SO GOOD. Chicken & waffles, breakfast sandy and the coffee is amazing! Highly recommend. We will be back!
The 3 lb pork chop is amazing as was the lobster spaghetti.
Love the atmosphere here and the food was decent. The brunch options are good but very meat heavy.
Our table was in front of the door. When ever it opened a blast of cold air hit us. We’ve been there a bunch and will return for sure but won’t sit in that table again. :)
I knew Old Major was different when I looked across the dining room and saw a couple sitting by a glass enclosed space. Anywhere else it would probably be a wine room, but at Old Major it’s where they age their in-house made charcuterie.
Our little group took shared plates literally and enjoyed the charcuterie with cheese, the averna ribs and Muscovy duck in grits. Each one was incredibly flavorful and well executed. Kudos to the mixologist for the delicious and cleverly named cocktails. And dessert! Just as good as everything that preceded it.
I can’t wait to go back
Delicious food and drinks, excellent service, no complaints!! Our waiter Joey was great!
We went for Easter brunch since we had never been before. Overall our experience was great and the food was amazing.
Great local restaurant within walking distance to my home. Great cocktails, fun, attentive server, and tasty good food.
Service was good and attentive, though quite slow when we first sat down.
Menu was minimal and way over priced. A la carte on most items. Very few wines sold by the glass. Definitely not what I had expected.
Always loved this restaurant, but the change in menu (don't know when this occurred) was a bummer. The move to more "shared plates" was a loss for me/us, and I'm far less likely to return with this change. Much prefer the traditional meal size/type that they used to have.
Had Sunday brunch on Palm Sunday. The service was excellent and the Ham Egg Benedict was superb. The portion was large enough to split! I really enjoyed the brunch menu and would return.
My only negative is "parking." But thats true of the whole area in the neighborhood.
WOW!!! What a fun and delicious meal! The service was incredible, the food was absolutely delicious and the drinks were stellar.
Our server Joe recommended we order family style, and what a great suggestion. The oysters were the freshest that I have ever tasted, the fried chicken was crispy and flavorful on the outside and melt in your mouth on the inside, my husband loved the lobster poutine and the bacon and egg was cooked perfectly! Best octopus I have had and the papas bravas were so crunchy and delicious. The halibut and the ribeye were cooked to perfection and super flavorful.
What a night!!
We will be back soon.
We've been to Old Major many times and suddenly, they've changed how their menu works. They have a bunch of overpriced, tiny shared plates. Then they have a list of overpriced proteins which you can pair up with their overpriced side dishes. I miss having composed entrees which consist of the protein and sides that are thoughtfully paired within the entrée by the chef.
It also seems like they're continually raising their prices to see how much they can get people to pay. I don't think we'll go back if it stays the way it is now.
Fantastic food, great service, wonderful flavors, we consider ourselves foodies as have tried Michelin rated restaurants in NYC, London, Italy, etc and this has to be one of our top 10 favorites. The flavors, are just crisp, fresh and delish. We had a party of 6 and probably ordered almost one of everything on the menu and loved everything. Don’t hesistate!
Our waiter was amazing and so knowledgeable! The food was amazing. It was pricey but worth it!
Great food and service
Going Away friends brunch
Other than delayed by 30 minutes to be seated ( without consideration) - excellent. Experience -
Magnificent. The pork was ridiculous and the Ribeye was outstanding.
I feel Old Major is one of the most underrated restaurants in Denver. Everything we’ve gotten there on two separate visits has been top notch. They seem to have added a lot more dishes to their menu; much more seafood offered now.
Great experience. Went in for an anniversary. Was greeted with bubbles- it was a nice touch!
The food was good when it arrived, but it took over an hour after we ordered and some of our meals were brought to us half plated. Very disappointing.
This was my third time at Old Major and realized I was doing an injustice to all by not leaving a review. If you have not been to Old Major, GO! The food is phenomenal and it one of our favorite places to eat. The loaded Bloody Mary is delicious and there isn’t a bad item on the menu. A must visit restaurant!
We had a really great overall experience. My parents were visiting from out of state and we wanted to go somewhere nice, yummy, and not too loud so that we could enjoy the company. I requested a quiet spot in the restaurant and they were incredibly accommodating and had a perfect spot for us.
The drinks and food were great and the service was attentive, kind, and accommodating. I would highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion. The entire experience was really wonderful!
I honestly loved the food and ambiance. My biggest frustration was that my companion and I were asked on 3 occasions by 3 separate people (a total of 9 times) on how we were doing. We were fine! The food was great and having to keep telling service that we were fine ultimately took away from just enjoying the meal and conversation. In terms of addressing this, I don't know if it's because the restaurant wasn't that busy at the time or if we'd just been given one waiter/waitress if that problem could've been quickly addressed but it was still annoying.
It was a mistake to schedule a business lunch here: way too noisy for business conversation. The food is good -- though the menu is limited -- and the staff is friendly and helpful. But with everyone in the place seemingly trying to out shout each other, it's not the place for serious talk.
Slow service, but food was worth the wait
We had a large group and were able to try a lot of different items on the menu, all of which were amazingly delicious. We had the dry aged steak which was cooked perfectly at medium rare. Also, ordered a variety of small plates to share with the entire table - definitely recommend for large groups so you can taste a lot of the menu.
