Taking its name from the tufted Middle White Boar that dreamt of rebellion, Old Major seeks to follow suit: rebelling against the ideas of what fine dining must be.
Old Major offers lunch, dinner, happy hour and brunch, along with private dining and off-site catering options with dishes starting at $12. The full bar features a creative cocktail program, craft beer & wine.
Great meal, fantastic service and very good cocktails/wine. Butterscotch Pot de Creme is to die for.
Their attention to details is outstanding
Love this place!!
We really enjoyed the food and overall feel of the restaurant. We came for restaurant week and the menu was pretty straight forward regarding the pricing. The food was excellent! Our server was nice and professional, met our needs without being around too much. It was a bit loud but it didn’t take away from the night.
We tried them out for Restaurant Week and they did not disappoint. The service was great and they missed one of our orders so they brought us an additional app to try. It was a little nosier than I prefer, but overall great!
Overall the entrees were just ok. Oysters, app and wine selection was spot on!
We went for restaurant week and tried various different things. They were very accommodating when my husband didn’t want to order off the restaurant week menu so that was nice. And he enjoyed his steak a lot.
We enjoyed the scallops and the brussel sprouts very much as well as the pretzels with the beer mustard butter- so good. We were a little disappointed in the pork shank. It had good flavor but it was super crispy on the outside and one bone had practically no meat on it. It was later in the evening so it may have been the last of what they had.
Cocktails were good. The butterscotch pudding was very good. Banana cream pie left something to be desired. Crust was super hard and it wasn’t really a banana cream...too runny.
The service is great, restaurant is beautiful. I think it is over priced considering the quality of food and portion...:(
Food was bland overall. The pork was too fatty and had little flavor. Scallop tasteless. Too pricey for quality of food. Disappointed considering place had been featured on TV/DDD. Won’t go back. There are places with far better food in the Denver metro area.
Amazing food and the service impeccable
We love old major. ordered everything on the menu and had a fantastic time.
Server was snooty and acted as if we were inconveniencing him. I was really looking forward to dinner and the attitude was a buzz kill. I will have to give it another go in the future.. food and ambiance were delightful!
This was not out favorite unfortunately:( I had picked this place for my fiancé’s birthday and it just didn’t meet our expectations.
The restaurant it’s self was very loud and FREEZING cold! We asked to move to the back room to maybe avoid the front door breeze but it was still so cold! Our waiter was so sweet though and kindly moved all our drinks and menus to another table.
Their menu is also kind of confusing... it showed their charcuterie board as $15, but it was actually $15 per person for that option. It apparently said “PP” next to it for per person. But our waiter was kind and said that happens all the time and took it off our check.
My fiancé ordered the Wagyu Steak and asked it to be medium rare and it came out medium-well done. We didn’t send it back, but know one wants to pay $40 for a over done steak:(
One of the best meals with friends in a long time.
The food was incredible but in a two hour span we saw our waiter twice. We waited for 30 minutes to put in our drink orders and another 20 minutes for food. Very inefficient.
The service was slow and unfriendly...…………………………………………………………………………….
Only issue was not the fault of Old Major. There was a birthday party so we had several different servers. Made it a bit confusing but all staff was attentive and happy to help. Great menu, great quality. Will definitely be back ASAP
Old Major is a great neighborhood staple. They always provide wonderful service and incredible meals made with premium ingredients. We take out of town guests here often and they are always wowed. We love this fine dining experience in a casual atmosphere.
Great experience to share with family and friends
As always, the food was outstanding. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
The Peanut Butter with Chocolate Bitters Whiskey was very tasty. The food was excellent. The service was awesome.
Let me start by expressing that I am not a big ham and sausage guy so maybe this is part of the problem. The chicken sandwich although delicious was tiny. The bun overwhelmed the chicken. It was very tasty besides. We also got the sampler? Breakfast woth ham , bacon and sausage. It was good just too much meat but that was to be expected. Our server was awful and he was nowhere to be found. We received our cocktails after they brought our meal. It was just a service issue all around. Food was pretty good but service and timing was bad.
We always enjoy Old Major. Even foods I don’t traditionally like, I love them when Old Major makes them!
Solid restaurant. Service was good, but a bit slow on getting around to us after getting our drinks and food. The brunch was good and the environment was just what we were seeking to celebrate a birthday with the group.
Happy hour is good!
If you’re okay to drop 150$ for two entrees and 2 glasses of wine, the foods not bad. It’s not worth the money.
We had the salmon and the wagyu. Small portions. The broccoli was a touch undercooked.
The wine was good.
When I went during their happy hour I was impressed! Will stick to this place for HH only :)
Love Old Major! Justin’s menu is diverse and the food is amazing!
Lunch has been taken here in the past but this was the first time for dinner. The meal and the service were both outstanding. We split the 3 pound pork chop between 4 adults and still took some home. Besides the pork I would highly recommend the Brussels Sprouts.
We started out dinner with fresh and delightful raw oysters, a plate of the fried chicken. A couple of the Old Fashions gave way to a delightful bottle of wine and finished with the Butterscotch desert.
Food was good. Service a little slow but they were pretty busy. We were there for Saturday brunch.
Everything was cooked very well. Everyone was very nice. However, they forgot about my kids burger, and when it finally came out, they forgot that we had ordered it with no cheese. Not the end of the world, but definitely put a damper on our brunch.
Good service, hip vibe. Food was pretty good, small portions and a little overpriced.
Our meal was good.
The place is nicely set up. food comes out cold as well as the coffee. service is very slow. we were there on a Sunday around 11 am, not a busy time and took quite sometime to get service.
Thank you so much for coming in!! Hope to see you again soon!! The new winter menu drops Wednesday!!
Wow! What a wonderful experience it’s been over a year since we last visited and it keeps improving. The food was fabulous, we had the lamb appetizer with polenta oh my god so good. The star of the meal was the Wagyu NY strip from Snake River Farms in Idaho beautifully marbled and cooked to perfection. Try the butterscotch dessert a perfect ending to our meal. Now for the best part the service Caleb was the best, so knowledgeable and professional he actually made our experience over the top. Can’t wait to go back! Justin Brunson the Chef and owner is brilliant and does not disappoint. Congratulations Justin on all your success!
It was delicious and service was great. We had the 3lb pork chop, it was amazing. The shepard's pie it came with and the biscuits were my favorite sides. We also shared the butterscotch pot de creme...OMG so good.
Love this place. Food is amazing (get the fried chicken and pretzel bites off the happy hour menu). Drinks are amazing ($6 old fashions during happy hour). Outstanding service. Love this place.
Poor start, but good finish. We came for brunch and it was a good brunch crowd. We were seated right away, but sat for close to 15 minutes without anyone coming to the table. After asking the host who our server was a new server took over and everything was good. We had the PB & W cocktail and what fun! Peanut butter whiskey with chocolate bitters. Sweet, but mellowed at the ice melted. Good cocktail. Chicken & waffles was outstanding. Their chicken is always good. This iteration was like a chicken fried chicken, boneless breast and thigh over a good waffle with real maple syrup. Yum. We also had the crab cake Benedict. House made crab cake that was very good. Lots of crab. The hollandaise is excellent as are the potatoes. Very good finish!
Great meal. Excellent wine. Few interruptions.
