Taking its name from the tufted Middle White Boar that dreamt of rebellion, Old Major seeks to follow suit: rebelling against the ideas of what fine dining must be.
Old Major offers lunch, dinner, happy hour and brunch, along with private dining and off-site catering options with dishes starting at $12. The full bar features a creative cocktail program, craft beer & wine.
What Insiders Are Saying
If you’re going to do Old Major, do it for an afternoon happy hour on the patio.
Great food!!!! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. One of our favorite spots in Denver.
Amazing food and service!
Always an exceptional experience, truly a Denver original
Needed a place on a Friday early evening to take out my son and his six friends. Wanted a steakhouse but all was booked. So we changed it and we’re well taken care of. The food was very good and service excellent. Pricey but I expected it. Short menu was easily navigated and the waitress was extremely helpful.
All had a a great time even if my wallet hurt a bit.
Like it so much we went back for brunch the very next day! Delicious brunch food!
This was our first visit but we had excellent service from the time we walked in. The host was polite, professional and easy going. Got us sat for our reservation immediately. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and took his time explaining the menu and friendly conversation at the appropriate times. The food was incredible and the entire staff worked together to bring out food, clear our plates and keep our drinks filled . A great place for date night or casual get together. Come hungry!
The crab and shrimp omelette was not very seafood-filled. However, the manager and waitress were very accommodating and gracious with comping a portion of the meal (it was definitely not worth the $20 menu price) AND celebrating a birthday with a comp champagne toast. We will be back for dinner due to the excellent accommodation.. perhaps not brunch, though. Thank you for making it a memorable luncheon!
This is not a $$ experience. Six of us ordered 4 beers, a bottle of wine. We had charcuterie for 3 (at $45) some starters and an $80 pork chop and spent $400 with tip. Don’t get me wrong; the experience was lovely, but this place is PRICEY!
Great flavor, really enjoyable brunch. Quiet because we got there at opening time on a Saturday. House cured meats were outstanding.
Typical great dinner at Old Major. Hasn’t failed us yet in 3 + years in Denver. Great and accommodating service and a couple of fantastic entrees in the halibut and scallops.
waited over 45min for our food on lazy and quiet sunday afternoon. Food was so-so. Wasn't impressed with either of the bloody mary's they have on the menu.
We had s party of 5. Sat at our table for over 15mins and were never acknowledged. Got up and walked out, no one noticed. We live in the neighborhood but we will never return.
Service wasn’t very good and food took forever to come out.
Expensive. Very limited menu. Big Steaks for sharing, not individual orders. Not horrible, just didn’t seem good value to me.
I don’t know if it’s because it was lunch on a holiday weekend, but we had incredibly slow/poor service for a group of six. Food was fine but over priced for very small portions. I’m disappointed—I had been looking forward to trying it and heard great reviews.
Always a Great Time with Friends for Brunch!!!!! Good Times!!!
Great table outside
The food was very good. When my husband ordered an old Fashion the waitress asked if he wanted it on the Rocks or straight up. He asked for it on the Rocks. When the waitress told us about the specials, she told us about the different steak options. We ordered the ribeye. She said it was enough for two people so my husband and I decided to split it. When the bill came we were shocked when we saw that the ribeye was $140!! The other main course items on the menu were in the $30 range. Ribeye for two people might be $75-$90 but $140!? I think that’s something that should be mentioned. He was also charged an extra $1 for the ice in his drink. Again, not something that was mentioned when he ordered. Like I said, the food was delicious. Everything we ordered was terrific but being shocked at the bill was a bummer. If a special costs $140 and isnt listed on the menu you’ve got to tell your guests how much it costs when it is being ordered!
Some of the best pork I've had. The "Nose to Tail" was outstanding, and the service was excellent. The menu is over-priced, and higher than most great Denver restaurants, but I'll continue to come for the cured meats.
The Meyer lemon and blueberry almond French toast was the bomb. We both ordered it and were very satisfied. Fresh squeezed OJ and grapefruit juice, too.
Same old menu for many months now, and I feel like the food quality is going downhill. Used to be my favorited restaurant. What happened?
Everything on the menu look interesting. We couldn't make up our minds so the two of us decided to share a few different items. Every dish was delicious. Our server couldn't have been nicer. We are looking forward to going back again.
Good overall experience. Service was ok, needed a bit more personality, but got him to warm up after some time. The lady whom I believed to be the manager, was very warm, inviting and playful, which we liked very much. The food was flavorful, the items of disappointment were the lack of crab/shrimp in the omelette, and the lack of choice of chicken pieces with the chicken and waffle dish. The flavor of the chicken was on point, just limited to one piece; there should always be a choice of wings, breast, etc. On the upside, the mimosas were strong, which everyone enjoys!!! The oysters were spectacular, and the setting was really nice for a late brunch. The bar area had a fun, almost vacation feel, and the music was totally spot on!! If that is the normal playlist, we will be back regularly; have to love the soulful hits from the past decades. Overall, we enjoyed our Father's Day brunch. Will be back.
The food and cocktails where great but the service was absolutely terrible. We sat at our table for at least 10 minutes before someone came to take our drink order and the spotty services continued throughout the meal.
As per usual, Old Major delivered! This is one of our favorite places in town and it is always consistently great! Chef Brunson has done a fantastic job of putting a staff together that meet and exceed his lofty expectations.
Been wanting to swing by for a while. The food was over the top! Thank you Quinn for making an amazing birthday. Look forward to the summer menu!
Great staff and food,
Still good, but it seems as though they have gone through a value engineering of the menu. Everything is still good, but it isn’t as good as it had been. Example, we always loved the soft scramble on the brunch. Crab and shrimp with avocado. Now it is an omelette that was dry and tasteless with a small bit of seafood in the middle that made those couple bites great, but the rest was so-so. Cocktails were great as was the service, but the food, at least for the brunch has fallen off a bit.
Excellent from start to finish!! Great service - friendly, knowledgeable and prompt. The food was superb!! We started with the ham & biscuits and oysters on the half shell , 2nd course was the Korean short ribs, shared an entree- the nose to tail and finished with the bread pudding and the butterscotch pot de creme!! ALL DELICIOUS!! (This was for 2 people at dinner.)
Also tasty cocktail - the Voodoo Moon!!
They also serve brunch on the weekend and lunch on the weekdays.
Cannot wait to go back!!
Fantastic. Relaxed atmosphere, but definitely top notch cuisine. If you're looking for New American, you must try it.
The food was good but the waiter was in the weeds.
Great spot in LoHi. The steak was perfect and cooked to requested temp. Apps were on point. Drinks are very well done and service was solid. Definitely recommend.
Excellent service and the food was amazing
Old Major is a go to restaurant for me and my team when we are visiting our office in Denver. There a ton of great restaurants closer to the office and the hotel we typically stay in near Union Station and the ballpark. But it's nice to get that short distance away to Old Major which is amazing and in a neighborhood that has a different character. Half price bottles of wine are also a great draw. We like to get there early enough to make sure we can get a 3 lb pork platter because they sometimes only have ONE available at 6:30 on a Wednesday. The staff are all pro-level and they're a great mix of attentive but not in the way of a good group conversation. I've seen couples on a date here, but I consider Old Major the best for small or large groups.
Very good neighborhood place. Food was excellent
The quality of food at Old Major surpasses Del Frisco's. This is a must try.
My food was very under seasoned and potatoes were cold .
Server never cracked a smile.
If You Like MEAT, You'll Love OLD MAJOR!!!! Fantastic Bar`tending, Amazing Food Exceptional Service!!! Always!!!
