Taking its name from the tufted Middle White Boar that dreamt of rebellion, Old Major seeks to follow suit: rebelling against the ideas of what fine dining must be.
Old Major offers lunch, dinner, happy hour and brunch, along with private dining and off-site catering options with dishes starting at $12. The full bar features a creative cocktail program, craft beer & wine.
What Insiders Are Saying
If you’re going to do Old Major, do it for an afternoon happy hour on the patio.
We had a nice meal here. I plan to return. The pork was absolutely fantastic.
The salad to start was one of the best I ever had and the meal was the best
We had to wait for 40 minutes for our reservation.
We’ve been to Old Major twice and both times the food was delicious. So far we have only ordered starters, small plates, and sides. We usually make a shareable meal with our family of 4. The Fried Chicken has been perfectly cooked (you will have dreams craving it), Pork Fat Fries are delicious, and the Korean Short Ribs were great as well. The Ham & Biscuits and Cacio de Pepe are my Childrens favorite. Did I mention the dessert? The Butterscotch Pot de Creme will leave your family fighting for the last bite. The Restaurant was super relaxed and the service was friendly from the Host to the Server. We definitely cannot wait to come back and try more!
Not our first visit. Just as good as always. Love OM
Food was amazing and so was the wait staff. However we were seated for our reservation almost 30 min after the reservatiom.
Food here was really great! Our server was MIA for awhile after we got the food and needed some pepper and ketchup, which was a bit frustrating. Overall this is a cute place in a nice neighborhood with good food. A little over priced along with noisy.
What a fun new place to try in Denver! My daughter and I went for brunch and the food was very good! I had the brioche french toast with blueberries and a lemon creme sauce - oh my - yum!
My daughter had the eggs benedict and they were awesome as well! The service was great from the host to the waiter. Everyone was friendly and the unique style of the place fun to look at. A little pricey but great food and service is what counts!
Such a great experience! Server was great and super knowledgeable! We dined out of our comfort zone and it sure paid off! Will be back!
Great neighborhood spot for meat lovers! Quality tasting food combined with excellent cocktails. A busy, bustling place - even with reservations we had to wait approximately 30 mins before we were seated. Great service, attentive staff. Would definitely return for a special occasion!
Excellent experience as always. Caleb was a great server and the 60 day aged KC Strip was phenomenal.
The sauce on their green beans and ribs is way too salty. Also, what’s up with that weird way to cut the ribs? It makes them dry and tough.
We really like the decor and ambience and the service is always excellent. I just wish there a few more healthier options on the brunch menu.
Fabulous pork, great sides, the charcuterie board was good however very expensive for what you get.
Sunday brunch doesn’t get any better. Loved the bottomless mimosas and everyone’s food was amazingly delicious. Highly recommended!!
Delicious, however Open Table underestimated the price per meal - closer to $50 per person if you get an appetizer and entree.
Delicious food and high touch service combine for a special dinning experience.
Went to brunch at Old Major to celebrate my son's birthday. The food and service were outstanding. We all had something different and everyone said their food was delicious. Food came out of the kitchen hot and fresh. We've been here before for dinner, so we were not disappointed that the brunch was just as good. We'll be back.
The food was amazing but the service was oddly lacking. First, we made a reservation and when we walked in right on time the host seemed flustered. He kept looking at the tablet then walking around talking to staff then coming back to the tablet. He did this three times. When he finally did seat us, we ordered drinks, received them and then it took 20 mins before our server came over to take our order. The place isn't large and it looked like there was enough staff but maybe they were short because again, the host seemed flustered. Entrees (wagyu and seabass that were amazing) also took way too long to come out around 30 mins after we had finished eating our appetizer (roots plate that was incredible) and then I made sure to place our dessert (butterscotch creme that I would eat everyday) order early, seeing how everything was taking awhile, only to wait 45 mins from placing the order to getting it. Our waiter said they gave the dessert to the wrong table and they comp'd it on our receipt but how did it take him so long to realize we hadn't received it? He walked past us over a dozen times and had to of seen we were not eating anything. The food was very delicious but I don't think we will be returning anytime soon.
Took awhile to get seated even with a reservation. I understand because people love their bottomless mimosas but after being seated it took forever to get waited on. Finally, my wife got the wrong meal. I love Old Major but the service was a little off today
Great food! King Crab & Shrimp Omelette was amazing!!!
Food absolutely amazing! Go for brunch!’n
This place is all about the meats. And everything is quite delicious. Notable item is the Nose to Tail plate, with all kinds of porky morsels.
The food and cocktails were both delicious. We went for Restaurant Week and will definitely come back in the future!
Some dishes were too salty. Drinks are great, pork dishes wonderful. Desserts are meh.
The food was very good and the service was excellent. Want to give a shout out to our server, Christopher, who did an overl-the-top job. The butterscotch pudding was to die for.
Amazing food. Great service. Steak was amazing!! Would highly recommend for a nice dinner.
Great service. Always delicious. We’ll be back soon!
OUTSTANDING!! Now in my top 3 restaurants in Denver!! My first visit and during Restaurant Week.
Everything was delicious from my drink (Voodoo Moon) to the appetizer (ham and biscuits) followed by the sea bass and completed with the butterscotch pot de creme!!
Excellent service by Caleb.
Can’t wait to go back!!
Even with reservations, we were seated at a high-top in the bar. That doesn't typically bother me but the barstools were EXTREMELY uncomfortable. So much so we could barely make it through our dinner and ended up standing to eat our dessert. Customers waiting for tables in the bar crowded our table (including leaning on and setting drinks on our table) while we were trying to enjoy our dinner. The excellent food and attentive service were completely over-shadowed by the discomfort from the stools.
Great experience and delicious food. Would recommend and will return!
Old Major did not disappoint! Our server Caleb was very knowledgeable and attentive. My husband loves his red meat and I was a bit nervous when he ordered the 2 lb. steak. Would it be over cooked? Under cooked? No to neither! Rather, this delicious cut of beef was cooked to perfection! One of the best tasting too according to my better half! My Korean ribs entree was amazing as were our side dishes. Desserts were both top notch! As we finished our dinner my husband mentioned to me that it was one of his best dining experiences ever! I couldn’t agree more.
We had a really great brunch. The chicken and waffles are amazing! The charcuterie board was so tasty and a great way to start the meal. The service started out ok, but then our waiter switched to Hector and he was outstanding.
It was a very “meh” experience. Food was decent but not exceptional. Waiter was nice, service was just okay. Order was messed up twice. It wasn’t unpleasant but I wouldn’t go back.
Best Restaurant Week dining experience. We loved it! We want to come back for a second Restaurant Week if they can fit us in.
The charcuterie and roasted vegetable appetizers were awesome!
The duck and polenta was amazing.
The butterscotch pot de creme was to die for.
Excellent food. One of the best customer service experiences I have had at a restaurant. I would suggest it to others, and I plan to return for future meals.
Old Major is a great place for meat. The charcuterie was delicious but a bit too fatty for me. I had a lamb main course for Denver Restaurant Week that included a delicious polenta and jam to accompany the meat. Old Major is pricy but delicious. The room is a bit noisy.
It’s hard to say you are disappointed when the meal is very good. But that is what I find myself doing after my last visit. The reason is when the menu was revised a couple weeks ago, the best lunch entree in Denver was taken off the menu. Lol, I know I am being a bit dramatic, but if you read my past reviews From lunch I always sing the praises of the Nashville Hot chicken tacos. They were nothing short of incredible. I understand a second locale is in the mix and that the tacos are going to resurface there. I do hope so! Until then, very good will be the thief of what’s best.
I had the Pastrami sandwich and the side Caesar salad. Both were remarkable. The pastrami combined well with the slaw and Russian dressing. The true Caesar was very good as well. Juicy banger on tap makes for a good lunch.
It's a cute place, better in summer. Food was ok, chicken sandwich with no sides was $12, pretty pricey.
Sandwich was small, chicken was overcooked. Lukewarm fries for $5.00 was also small.
Will have to think about a return, maybe not.
