   Great atmosphere, superb service (thank you Henry), classic cocktails and delicious food! We dined on East Coast oysters, chilled to perfection, porterhouse for two, grilled to medium rare, cut like butter, cripsy hash browns topped with fried egg, nice runny yolk, creamed spinach, coffee, creme brulee and cheesecake. Outstanding! Thank you Henry and staff for a wonderful birthday celebration for my husband! See you next year!

   The steak was one of the best I’ve had. Garlic mashed potatoes were great. Our son had the wagyu steak and he said it was the best he’d had. Wonderful experience. A bit pricy but worth it!!!!

   Amazing food. amateur-hour service... including forgetting multiple simple requests. ghosted. Been visiting since the 80s, sad to see the mismatch between the exceptional food and the low standard service.

   When everything is this good everyone leaves feeling wonderful. There’s a reason the Old Homestead has been around for over 150 years. Our group of 6 guys shared every course including the excellently prepared medium rare porterhouse and the dry aged rib steak. Our server Eliana was charming and efficient. A true 5 star dining experience!

   Disappointed us, based on the reputation. No coat check (it was pouring and we had soaked coats and umbrellas). The raucous bar made hearing each other at our table a challenge. The drinks menu is on an iPad (!), unceremoniously plopped down on one of our plates; it was smudged and grimy. The wine list is taken from a grocery store and not in tandem with a reputable steak place. We couldn't taste one wine-by-the-glass because it comes in a sealed bottle (which reminded us of getting wine on an airplane; so we settled for beer). Then there was the vacuum cleaner (!) busily tidying up around the tables by us, as well as up and down the aisle. The steak was okay. Not seared, even though we expressly asked for that. The fries were so-so; not crispy. The mashed potatoes were insipid. The garlic bread is slices of Wonder Bread lightly toasted. The creme brûlée was crunchy but cold. The plusses? Our waiter was delightful, and he gamely handled our expressions of disappointment. And we now have a memorable evening that is making us laugh and roll our eyes. We're a little baffled by the hype. There are much better places for steak in Manhattan. We're going back to Keen's.

    From arrival we were not welcomed, and felt that we were a nuisance even being there. Whilst asking for advice re food options for our 11 year old, we felt we were an irritability. Upon reviewing the wine list I stated what type of wine we liked and our budget. We were (grudgingly - it felt)?shown an American option, and upon asking what others were suitable, the waiter pointed at an alternative and just walked off. Steak was not tender (sirloin)and undercooked to my liking (medium requested, rare received). Felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome. Despite stating it was a birthday, no mention made of this. Overall very disappointed in the social aspect of customer service; and the food was below par. Would not recommend as felt we were an irritant to the waiting staff.
