Enjoyed the evening at OC
Was strange we had several servers not just one.
Came with my kids to watch the cowboys vs. saints game. Took 35 minutes before the waiter acknowledged our table. Took our order and another 20 minutes of a wait time to get our mixed drink and kids lemonades. Finally our food was ready but our dessert came out first before our appetizer. Not a good experience.
We had a good time there. The food was great. Our waiter was okay. Not to attentive extremely nonchalant about our beverage refills.
Came here on a Friday evening for dinner with friends. We really enjoyed not having to wait to be seated and the service was good enough. The food was good and it was prompt. Overall it was a really good experience and would not hesitate to return for another visit when back in the area.
Your family friendly environment was delightful. We had a great time on Saturday evening
Waitress was not good. One person at our table never received food. Guess waitress forgot to check on it, when she finally returned she had the check when remined she said sorry I guess it's a good thing you didnt have to pay for the food portion. Did that matter? I was an invited guest and I did pay for drinks.
I enjoyed the over all dinner, I understand that the staff was still in training, I wish they would have gone over the Pizza selections and also the Tap selections or at least guide you to make a choice that would make the experiance more enjoyable.
The atmosphere was upbeat. Great music. Lots of tvs, so it has a somewhat upscale sports-bar vibe. The food was good, drink menu was even better (I recommend the Hail Mary...my husband recommends the beer flight). Waitstaff was still in training, so waits were long for ordering, refills, and the check. It is open late every night (1am, I think), so we will definitely return on one of those evenings where we are looking for a late dinner or just drinks & dessert. Highly recommend the garlic parmesan fries. Edamame was NOT good - lacked flavor and was extremely chewy.
The outdoor dining area is really big (nice bonus for Cedar Hill...current outdoor dining options are VERY limited), but won't be ideal from May - September, as it gets direct afternoon/evening sun.
The food choices were excellent. The alcoholic drinks were excellent and the portions were great. However, our server seemed overwhelmed and forgetful of requested items from the patrons. The server did not understand the menu items and she needed assistance from head waitre. The servers need less tables to wait on, in order to give great service.
I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The potato-leek soup was amazing and the Bibb lettuce salad was refreshing. The table was split on the monkfish – one person thought it was great, but another felt that the tastes didn't quite mesh. Everyone loved the flat iron steak. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable."
Four in our party all but one said the food was very good...the cal-zone was too much bread. The service needs work, but it was a training day. We've been back and the service significantly improved. I like the fact that a lid was put on a child's drink...good thinking! The only negative is the wood floor is too slippery. It needs to be waxed with a non-skid/non-slip substance.
The food was great. I will most definitely comeback.
I work at a school and I am telling everyone here that this is an awesome place to go for lunch when we have a long lunch time. I will be telling everyone about this place and we will definitely be back!!! Do teachers get any discounts? Just asking
Went back on official opening day. Took 45 min to 1 hour to be seated. 1 1/2 for food to be served. 45 min to pay tab. No changing tables for babies in both bathrooms. Ordered the 50/50 Burger, the burger was not thoroughly cooked. The meat fell apart too easily, asked if I could order something else and selected the Whiskey Burger, which took another 45 min to be served. I had the burger packed to go. The rest of my family enjoyed their pizza and calzones. We will return as a family hoping for better evening.
I went on opening event, so it was a training day. I hope that was the reason service was soooo slow. The food was really good! I will have to try it again on regular day to see if the service improves once the trainees are mixed in with the regular servers.
The service was quite slow, but that was to be expected, given it was opening night and the place was packed. But, the food was TOTALLY worth the wait! Outstanding!!
The server was awesome and very helpful and great time
We were invited to attend Old Chicago for a free order during the training period. The food quality and quantity exceeded our expectations. Welcome to Cedar Hill. I look forward to eating at Old Chicago in the near future.
Atmosphere is good to meet up with friends & hang out & have drinks. My party was a party of 2 adults & a child. My burger was under cooked & by the time it came out, my husband was done eating, so the burger they remade we took it to go & my husband took it for lunch the next day. The only thing I had to eat was the garlic fries, which were ok.
The place is just what we needed in the southern sector . Faith the bartender should go straight to management , very competent in all levels at the bar. Will come back often
Food was your standard deliciousness found at every other Old Chicago. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Will be back!
I had never heard of Old Chicago before so I expected a menu of pizzas. Definitely not the case. They have a "make your own" mac n cheese with all different toppings. I had the Spinach, Chicken & Avocado Salad and it was Amazing! My husband had the meat calzone and it was so much food he ate it the next day. We will definitely be going back.
The food and service was very good. The people were friendly. Your food was awesome. I will be returning.
I tried the calzone at the preview of Old Chicago. It was good, not remarkable though. My kids had various kid's meals and all thought they were delicious and just the right amount of food. The kid pizza especially was a nice size compared to most other restaurants. We will probably be back, although I don't feel like young families are exactly the market they are going for.
