The breakfast we each had was wonderful. So good that we are anticipating a great dinner when we go there later this week.
Great food and service with a smile..Recommend for a nice quiet evening with a bit of class
Have been to your establishment at least 5 times since re opened.
Each time it has been excellent.
Steaks were great and salads outstanding.
Service could have been better, but there was a large 3 table party that had just been seated before us so understandable.
Will continue to support and recommend the Captiva House

First time to Old Captiva house. Easy to make reservations. I ordered the small fillet and my wife had the grouper. Both meals were fantastic. Quiet table and attentive service. Will be back on our next Captiva vacation.
The food was way over priced for the quality. I ate less than half of my meal. The service was ok, and the whole experience made me never want to go back. I have eaten at sea side restaurants from Cape Cod to Portugal and as far south as Costa Rica. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Service and food was 5 star - definitely recommend and will be back!
Our family was staying at South Seas and ventured to Captive House for dinner one evening on a recommendation. The hostess, Valerie, was extremely welcoming and friendly. Our server, Eric, was very accommodating and helpful. Oh, and the food is fantastic. Jumbo prawns with lobster risotto was a real standout. When on the island, make sure you have one of your meals here.
Lovely restaurant. Tried escargot, lobster risotto (very good), lobster ravioli and cioppino. Each with a different twist than typical but good. Great presentation. Friendly hostess and knowledgeable waiter. Would definitely return on next visit.
It was wonderful. We ate here twice for dinner and once for breakfast this week, and Eric took excellent care of us at dinner, as usual.
As always, excellent food, excellent service and a relaxing atmosphere. You won’t be disappointed.
Excellent Chef! Beautiful setting
Best restaurant on Captiva - hands down. Great food, great service - ALWAYS a good time!
Outstanding it never disappoints and is now a favorite location for a lovely dinner
Great food
We had a great experience! Sat outside in covered tent. Nice and warm. Waiter brought over an extra heater to make sure we were comfortable. Yummy drinks (coconut martini) and amazing food. We had the lamb, sea bass and fish stew. All were amazing. We cleaned our plates. And the key lime pie was a winner too! Even the bread and seasoned oil before dinner were delicious. Will definitely eat there again!
Dana our server was excellent, attentive and helpful. The music was very nice last night.
Great food my wife’s dish wasn’t as hot as it should have been.
I ordered the fisherman stew it was excellent.
The food and service was excellent! Highly recommend this restaurant!!
All four entrees were excellent and served with well chosen sides. My Grouper was outstanding. Updated and comfortable surroundings. Inside outdoor seating available.
Had a lovely tasty dinner with lots of fresh choices!! Our server Eric was awesome!! Lots of smaller plates to order and share! Great entree choices too!! Great desserts too!
Beautiful order Christmas lights are worth the drive too!! Indoor and outdoor seating! Lots of masks and hand sanitizer
Very nice, upscale restaurant. Pricy though so save this one for a special occasion!
Outstanding food, outstanding service! I would highly recommend the Caprese and the crab bisque. The Snapper was also superb.
Food was delicious, high quality and prepared very well. Lobster risotto had large chunks of lobster and plenty of butter. Seabass was cooked perfectly. Red Snapper was delicious too. We tried at least 4 different key lime pies on Captiva and this was our favorite! The Christmas lights were beautiful.
We were running late and the nicest woman took our order over the phone. Sat us and fed us upon walking in. Was in and out in 20 minutes and it was great food and great vibes. Wish we could have stayed longer. Beyond understanding and accommodating. Amazing!!
The prawn risotto was amazing! Our waitress got really busy with large table but still a great experience.
We went New Year’s Eve. The prix fixe dinner left nothing to be desired. High quality food. We had eaten there before and the quality has held up.
We had a wonderful evening celebrating New Year's Eve on the outdoor patio! The ambiance was wonderful and the distancing guidelines were in full effect. Patio heaters kept us very comfortable and we loved the gentle fresh sea breeze flowing through the tent. It was such a festive evening and the food and service were amazing! Much thanks to Eric for taking such good care of us. We love visiting the Old Captiva House when we vacation on the islands and hope to be back again soon!!
Anniversary, I indicated this on the reservation but they did not bring it up 1x.
Quiet family dinner for five before New Years. The outdoor seating is comfortable and quiet.
Staff very friendly. Food was served with very lovely presentation. Good wine list and lots of locally sourced seafood.
Is definitely a nice change from restaurants in town captiva. Nice to have a quiet dinner in lovely surroundings.
The only problem was the restaurant reflected us as being a no show which resulted in calling the restaurant and open table. The issue was resolved by NATALI from Open Table
Beautiful restaurant with a neat history. Food was delicious and facility seemed very clean. Service was excellent. All of the holiday lights on the property made it extra special!
Went for Christmas dinner. Service was excellent! Festive decorations. We all got something different to share. It was all delicious and plated attractively.
We had Christmas dinner here - very nice. Loved they had great dishes and also the requisite chicken tenders for my picky son. :)
We loved it,,,parking is bad, they had fake snow for kids loved it!!! Very good food and service
Christmas Eve family dinner
Our fabulous server, Niles, has worked at Captiva house for 11 years, was such a gentleman and very courteous! He treated us with such respect and friendliness, made our Christmas Eve meal ever more pleasant! We appreciate the fact the restaurant was strict about their hostess and servers pandemic mask detail! We have not gone out to dine much during the pandemic, and are relieved to know this establishment takes COVID-19 very seriously! My pomegranate glazed Lamb chops were cooked as ordered. My chops were laid over a bed of smashed garlic potatoes and fresh vegetables, scrumptious! The warm dinner rolls to begin with were a special treat and Niles prepared the olive oil seasoning for them.
Because this restaurant is on a resort property, parking left much to be desired! The Christmas decorations and lights were absolutely phenomenal, and the parking situation would be my only gripe!
5 star food ... so incredible , we went twice during our stay and ordered the exact same thing ... steak and prawns ..
Can always count on a great meal and great service.
We had an amazing dinner saturday evening. Best Filet I have ever had, hubby loved his red snapper. We grabbed a cocktail and headed out for the sunset before dinner and after dinner enjoyed the Christmas lights. A new tradition has begun.
Old Captiva House was truly outstanding. The menu had so much variety and everything sounded good. We finally decided on the Branzino and the Chilean Sea Bass. Both were very good, but go with the full plate if you are hungry. The Keylime Pie was a perfect ending.
