Wonderful food, service and setting. The lobster risotto featured many large pieces of lobster and the best risotto we had ever tasted. The grouper dish with Caribbean salsa was phenomenal. The key lime pie is what all Key Lime Pie should be like. The sunset was amazing. All made for a really wonderful evening. Highly recommended.

We were in Captiva for a week and tried all the recommend restaurants and the Old Captiva House was by far the best. Everything including the food, service and ambiance was top notch.

Pleasant ambiance but food was not of the quality advertised. My partner's fish was cold in the center and my meal was over-salted. Overall, not worth the price. Cid's (in Sanibel) was slightly better food for roughly 1/2 the cost.

Very good restaurant with delicious food. So good that we’ve been twice ! Sushi is one of the best I’ve ever eaten. The Lobster ravioli was outstanding !

Food was fantastic. Best caprese salad I've ever had. Lobster risotto was delicious, too. There were massive chunks of perfectly cooked lobster in every forkful. My husband had the jumbo prawns over a lobster risotto with sauteed vegetables, they were amazing. Our waiter Eric, along with the other gentleman who kept our waters full and our table promptly serviced, were great. Eric recommended the perfect Sauvignon Blanc to go with our meals. The kids were happy with their meals, too. Best meal we had on our vacation.

Delicious food! The prawns with lobster risotto was AMAZING! Perfectly cook and the flavor combination was so good! One of the best dishes I’ve had in a long time!
The service was wonderful. Niel was so good at meeting our needs. Very friendly too. Can’t wait to return for another meal during our yearly Captiva vacation ❤️

Had an amazing experience! Will definitely be back. Highly recommend! Great service. Great food. The salads were wonderful. The bread warm and fresh. All the appetizers were delicious. The mains were fantastic. Appreciated the option for large or small plates. Our group had various preferences and everyone found meals they enjoyed. Wine list was good. Deserts the perfect ending. Creme brûlée, carrot cake and key lime pie.

Wonderful restaurant in all regards. Food delicious and expertly prepared and served. Delightful atmosphere. Every dish, including the special, was awesome. Highly recommend and will return. Can walk onto patio to see sunset.

The lobster risotto and giant prawns as out of this world!
The wine list perfect and the chocolate pate for dessert was a chocolate overload.

This was our second time at Old Captiva House. Fantastic. We were celebrating my cousins 60th birthday. Food, service was great! Highly recommend.

I had the Chilean Sea Bass which was the best I’ve ever had. My wife had the twin cold water lobster tails which were also excellent. Our server was Ray and he was great, very personable and knowledgeable.

Dîner en famille. Coquilles saint jacques et crab cake, chi lean sea bass, filet pour les 2 ados après une recette originale d’escargots sauce citron. Très correct mais un peu cher (mais on est sur une île) 300$ a 4 avec 2 verres de vin par adulte et un cocktail de fruit par ado.

Our entrees were excellent. I had the prawns with risotto and my husband had the prawns with pasta. They also serve an oil herb infused dipping sauce for the bread which was outstanding! The only food item I felt was below par was the arugula salad. The arugula and Belgian endive was not fresh. Service was excellent.

The veal and lamb chop were incredible. Best I ever had. Skip the Lobster Risotto as it is very bland and not worthy. The wedge Salad also had a strange dressing, they should rethink that one. Overall great experience

Everything was perfect. We had the filet and the Jumbo shrimp and lobster risotto. There was more lobster than you would expect in a
Lobster dinner. And the filet was one of the best we ever had. The chef came by every table to check on every ones meal.We will definitely return on our next trip to Captiva.

We have been coming to Sanibel for years. The Captiva House used to be a favorite of my parents and our family. It fell off of the radar for us 5 or so years ago. My husband and I read several reviews that seemed
very complimentary. The menu looked very good, so we decided to give it a try. We learned the night we went that the restaurant had recently been renovated. It is just lovely. White and aqua and very cheery. Views of the water,etc. Our food was great. Lobster tails blackened excellent. Our waiter was awesome. Friendly, efficient. I highly recommend trying it. You will not be disappointed.

The Old Captiva House is the best new - old restaurant on the island of Captiva. While they call themselves new we have been eating at this restaurant for many years and have always had a great experience. Fine dining in a casual atmosphere is how I would describe the restaurant. Very quiet and now very bright with their new look. The new menu offers a great selection of land and sea food but our favorite thing was the Baked Lobster Risotto. This item is a must starter and should be an entree. The Ahi Tuna was very different than expected and the wasabi mashed potato was the most unusual flavor have ever experienced.

Over all we really enjoyed the Old Captiva House and will be making it a regular stop when we are on the island.

We loved it! Shenelle & Rahiem were great servers. Jasmine, Nadine & Irina we’re friendly & hospitable. We enjoyed talking with them. The food was amazing. Can’t wait to go back.
