Disappointed to say the least. We had a reservation for 6:30PM. The place was not that busy - maybe 5 other tables occupied. We sat outside and ordered. Proceeded to wait an hour+. Waiter didn't even come by for a good 30 minutes. As we waited it got busier. We finally asked the waiter and he said the kitchen was getting slammed. We looked around and not one table had food. Not sure what they were doing. We thought, based on reviews, this place was a good choice. In the end, it was over priced, slow, bad service, and the food was mediocre. Miami has a practice of adding the tip as a surcharge automatically. I see this as a means to not work as hard as other restaurants that actually earn their tip with good service. I was not anticipating that it would be a 2 hour dinner. Would not recommend this place.
OLA has such good reviews so my wife and I gave it a try. They sat us by the water which is a stagnant lake and the smell was noticeable. We switched to a table a few feet away. The first waiter told us he would assist us at the new table but another waiter took our order. Two min later the first waiter came back and asked us what we wanted to eat. Communication was not the best. We thought the food was decent. We liked the salmon cirvice but not the lamb which was undercooked and not tasty. My wife had the mahi which she felt was dry and not too flavorful. We would not go back.
Great menu and food. Waiter was very convincing and knowledgeable. Excellent ceviche selection. Bread was outstanding
La comida deliciosa
Always great food and new location is nice- love all the tapas sized dishes- never met one we didn’t like
I had the whole red snapper that was not fresh. Everything else was excellent.
Fabulous filet mignon with crab. Well worthy he price.
Great food and service.
Great experience. Great service.
Ceviche top, empañadas ricas. Buen lugar para disfrutar
OLA is one of our favorite restaurants. We ordered the fantastic Fire and Ice ceviche. The duck is also very good.
The service by Jackson was outstanding. He was friendly and explained the key components of each item.
We enjoyed our dinner at OLA. Food and service were both excellent, with unique and creative dishes and an outstanding waiter. The ambiance inside the restaurant is nothing special, and probably better in outdoor seating but the weather did not allow that on the night we were there. The ceviches were very good, my wife enjoyed the short rib empanadas and I liked the pork dish that was very rich.
Crazy expensive but really delicious
This was our fourth dining experience with OLA in a 5 year window. Living in CLE we have many talented Chefs and wonderful Restaurants that set the bar, OLA has yet to disappoint our group. Entree’s authentic and on point, service amazing, dessert a must try. Only suggestion, new location has beautiful outside seating, several seats within valet and bustle of staff passing, need more closure surrounding. Other than that... will see again !
The once great OLA is no longer. The cerviche was good, but the rest of the meal was just not up to standard. It took forever for the kitchen to get the meal ready and when it finally came out it was almost inedible.
We went there for my birthday party and was very surprised by the atmosphere and how incredible the food and cocktails were. The patio was quaint with a Latin feel. More importantly, it was refreshing to go to a restaurant in South Florida where the employees really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Exceptional night!
Ola is the best restaurant.
After I heard about Ola many times from my best friend, I finally went Ola during my trip. It was an extraordinary experience. Every single dish is so fresh and just right. Bread was so good. Dessert was good. Service was excellent
I wish Ola opens a branch in NYC.
This was a last minute booking. Turned out to be fabulous. Other reviewers are right—don’t miss the ceviche. We had the snapper and it was delightful and more than enough for two people. They even have one of my favorite wines—carmenare—something you don’t see on many wine lists. The rolls are gluten free and made from yucca plants. I was a bit suspicious but these were delicious. We even asked for extras to take home. This is a South Beach gem.
Terrific food and a knowledgeable attentive staff.
Awesome as always
Food and service were spot on, great wine and killer rolls
with a little bit of sweetness.
Sat outside on a beautiful night. Food was excellent, and our service was great.
Second visit new location same exceptional food and the service. Our server was very knowledgeable, warm and helpful. The food was delicious, we all ended up sharing because everything was so good, you can't go wrong with any choice but you must try the ceviche.
Wonderful dinner. The service— from the hostess offering a choice of tables to the waiter making wonderful suggestions — was both friendly and professional. But the real reason to go is the food. The ceviches (especially the lobster with a spectacular spicy tomato sorbet) are real standouts. And the deconstructed key lime pie is so worth the extra trip to the gym you will need in the morning. Definitely worth it.
Outstanding food quality and presentation
Jackson was really nice
We really enjoyed our experience at OLA. Our server, Guillerm, was friendly and great at helping us make our choices. I felt like she actually cared which is rare these days. The empanada starters are amazing and wealth worth the splurge. I had the Pionono which was very flavorful and my hubby had the yucca mash which he enjoyed immensely. We were celebrating a special occasion and were vern pleased that we chose Ola.
The food was delicious! The drinks were to die for. Our waiter was so attentive. Loved sitting outside by the water. Would go back again!
Cada día se come más rico! El servicio es extraordinario. Todos pendientes de cada detalle.
This may have been the best meal of my life, and considering I live in a top three food city that is saying something. The service was impeccable. The fire and ice ceviche was so memorable and interesting. The courtyard setting was majestic. It was a pricey meal but well worth it for a big birthday, which we were celebrating.
My wife and I have been to Ola many times. They have relocated a couple of times, but the food/cuisine is so delicious, every time. I grew up eating Peruvian food, so the ceviche was on point, bringing me back to the days my grandmother use to make that for us. We enjoyed the OLA meatballs made of Kobe beef, and the lobster empanada..amazingly delicious. Red Snapper special was juicy and flavorful. The chefs know what they are doing here.
Food was fantastic. But service was extremely poor. Our server didn’t check on us for an hour in between ceviche course, appetizer and entree, and it took 2 hours for our entree to come. I think the reason it took so long is because our server didn’t check on us or the food, so he didn’t realize the kitchen didn’t get the order. I think our situation was abnormal, as everyone else who arrived after us, got their entrees quicker and were checked on more frequently. And once again, the food was delicious.
Una Experiencia fantástica, la comida en general deliciosa, la atención súper buena , agradecidos de Francisco por su buena atención . El bar muy bueno y los bartender súper atentos . Recomendamos el restaurante
Waited more than 90 minutes for main courses to arrive and then were told it would be another 15 minutes.
Appetizers tasted good but by the time the main courses would have arrived, it would have been to late.
We cancelled the mains and left disappointed.
We used to love Ola in its old location, this is nothing like it.
Won’t be back
Had 2 ceviches and chef special fish of the day grilled (no head or bones). Absolutely delicious and flawless. Little sweet bread on the side was also amazing. Do recommend!!
Service cadence was way off. Received ceviche very quickly (5 min from ordering) then waited 20 min for first parts second course, and another 30 for rest the rest of the second courses. We had to cancel the main because food took so long.
Restaurant 30% overpriced - however the food is very creative and extremely tasty.
Except the desert which was downright awful
expected more unfortunately. The ceviche was excellent as was the tartare.
It was a great experience and our server Guillerm was great!!
Food is always great. Service was very slow. Very. Will make me reconsider going.
