As a urban diner, I loved the fast pacing of this restaurant. Great food, good service and ambience... perfect for us!
Excellent. Sushi bar
Food is excellent. Inside is so loud it would be hard to hear across the table. Patio is nothing special but very enjoyable for sound and conversation
The exterior is not very inviting but the interior is well designed and laid out. Ample seating for a very busy restaurant. We were generally disappointed with the sushi. The salmon sashimi was terrific. For example the crab was a very mushy consistency. We did not like the texture.
Service was fine. We had reservations and were seated right away. Plenty of parking.
Overall we thought the sushi was not as good as Mitch's.
The service was very good. It’s a friendly neighborhood restaurant. The food is always fresh and good.
We love Okura bu when we there last Saturday there was a bachelorette party going on in the main dining room. They were very loud not caring about anyone else and the management allowed it to continue all evening.
So delicious! The all you can eat sushi was AMAZING!
Great food! Unique menu to choose from. Incredible Miso Seabass. Melts in your mouth! Top notch appetizers, sushi, and desserts.
The sushi is fresh and the service is very good. Try the shrimp poppers.
We were looking for a good Japanese style restaurant in the Coachella Valley. Okura definitely surprised us with a great menu, ambiance, and service. Our dinner included oyster shooters, sunomono with tako salad, miso soup, a scallop small plate, the Volcano Roll, and an order of hamachi sashimi. For drinks, we tried both a sweet unfiltered and a dry filtered sake. Both were great, and my vote goes to the dry filtered which includes a cute bottle to take home for use as a vase. We had reservations (highly recommended), but arrived 30 minutes early and were able to get a night top table in the bar area. Service was very good there, though the noise level may be a bit higher than the dining room. Next time we plan to sit at the sushi bar and ask the chefs for recommendations. Overall great experience, and we plan to return soon.
The all you can eat sushi was amazing
Great food. Great value. Good Service. The noise level is a little high, but it is well worth it.
Hostess needs some manners
Food was quite good -fresh & tasty. Outside patio seemed to need a bit of care and ambiance, not really even like part of the restaurant. We sat out there because it was so cold (air conditioned) in the restaurantt. Heard others comment on that and move outside Service a little slow as it took some time for our order to arrive and it wasnt that busy, but our waiter was pleasant and professional. Overall high marks.
This was our fourth time to Okura and we were introducing this restaurant to friends. As has always been the case, fantastic food and an overall excellent dining experience. One of the best restaurants in the valley!
Very busy. Lighting in the back area where we were seated was extremely dark. I am only 37 years old and I literally had to pull out my phone and use the flashlight to view the menu because straining my eyes are starting to give me a headache. Not sure how elderly people in the community very busy. Lighting in the back area where we were seated was extremely dark. Not sure how elderly people in the community do it. If they would just turn the light brighter in the room to the right it would make a significant difference
We never pass up an opportunity to go to Okura. We love this place.
A desert favorite! Always great constantly delicious food
We visit every year in March when we're here. Always great, and pet friendly patio!
Dinner at Sushi bar, great service and food. We come every year
Love the black cod and really all the food is excellent. Little noisy to have good conversation at your own table
Most accommodating host and service staff. Will return!
We went there with the intention of sampling various small plates and we were not disappointed ! Started with sashimi salad ,calamari bites , edanomine and finished with some very tasty Tiger rolls..all very good! We will return for more fun choices!
This is actually one of my favorite restaurants....a favorite for a date night with my husband. We went with friends this time and found the food a little disappointing. The sauce for the Chilean Sea Bass, normally my favorite meal there, but this time it was a little too salty....and too much soy. Even my husband said his prime rib steak dish was not up too par. Maybe the kitchen was too busy as the the place was jammed!!! We were a little disappointed.
Our favorite Japanese restaurant. It never disappoints. Food is awesome especially soft shell crab and miso sea bass, Chilean sea bass. Great sushi. Service is excellent, friendly and welcoming.
Softshell crab for appetizer AND dessert— so good!!!
Food & service were excellent. Wish we lived here so we could come more often.
Farewell dinner for a relative returning to the UK after an extended vacation.
The food was very good, the service was not so good. We had to ask for them to clean our table. The noise level was horrible.
Wait staff more focused on chatting with one another than providing service to customers. Food not quite on par with previous visits. Hopefully just a blip.
We eat here as often as we can when we are here for the winter and as usual it is by far THE BEST in the valley!!! LOVE it!!!!
A little expensive but food is good. There is always one or two people in any restaurant who think they need to speak and laugh loudly which ruins everybody else experience. If you are one of those people, try considering others and keep your experiences at your own table. Thank you.
Okura is my favorite restaurant in the area. The food is outstanding... the staff is very friendly and professional...the ambiance is very relaxing. I look forward to going there whenever I am in La Quinta. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Service was excellent, and food was amazing. The protein rolls were the best I've ever had.
When they first opened we found this gem and then after a few more get away weekends we couldn’t remember the name. We came down last weekend and we’re lucky enough to found this wonderful restaurant again! It will now always be on our radar when we visit our favorite getaway town! The best sushi in town. Everyone has always been so wonderful! Thank you 💗
The best sushi restaurant in the desert I would recommend it to anyone.
Beyond noisy. After food order taken it took 40 minutes to get the food from the kitchen. Our waiter, Adam, tried to stay away from our table since he knew we had waited so long for our food. Never again for us.
Enjoyed it very much!
Always good every time
Best True Japanese in our area and we'll worth the drive if you live a distance away. Always fresh fish with wide array of total goodness. I garantee you'll want to come back! The staff is fabulous and so charming and knowledgeable so give it a try, you won't regret it.
