Hostess needs some manners
Food was quite good -fresh & tasty. Outside patio seemed to need a bit of care and ambiance, not really even like part of the restaurant. We sat out there because it was so cold (air conditioned) in the restaurantt. Heard others comment on that and move outside Service a little slow as it took some time for our order to arrive and it wasnt that busy, but our waiter was pleasant and professional. Overall high marks.
This was our fourth time to Okura and we were introducing this restaurant to friends. As has always been the case, fantastic food and an overall excellent dining experience. One of the best restaurants in the valley!
Very busy. Lighting in the back area where we were seated was extremely dark. I am only 37 years old and I literally had to pull out my phone and use the flashlight to view the menu because straining my eyes are starting to give me a headache. Not sure how elderly people in the community very busy. Lighting in the back area where we were seated was extremely dark. Not sure how elderly people in the community do it. If they would just turn the light brighter in the room to the right it would make a significant difference
We never pass up an opportunity to go to Okura. We love this place.
A desert favorite! Always great constantly delicious food
We visit every year in March when we're here. Always great, and pet friendly patio!
Dinner at Sushi bar, great service and food. We come every year
Love the black cod and really all the food is excellent. Little noisy to have good conversation at your own table
Most accommodating host and service staff. Will return!
We went there with the intention of sampling various small plates and we were not disappointed ! Started with sashimi salad ,calamari bites , edanomine and finished with some very tasty Tiger rolls..all very good! We will return for more fun choices!
This is actually one of my favorite restaurants....a favorite for a date night with my husband. We went with friends this time and found the food a little disappointing. The sauce for the Chilean Sea Bass, normally my favorite meal there, but this time it was a little too salty....and too much soy. Even my husband said his prime rib steak dish was not up too par. Maybe the kitchen was too busy as the the place was jammed!!! We were a little disappointed.
Our favorite Japanese restaurant. It never disappoints. Food is awesome especially soft shell crab and miso sea bass, Chilean sea bass. Great sushi. Service is excellent, friendly and welcoming.
Softshell crab for appetizer AND dessert— so good!!!
Food & service were excellent. Wish we lived here so we could come more often.
Farewell dinner for a relative returning to the UK after an extended vacation.
The food was very good, the service was not so good. We had to ask for them to clean our table. The noise level was horrible.
Wait staff more focused on chatting with one another than providing service to customers. Food not quite on par with previous visits. Hopefully just a blip.
We eat here as often as we can when we are here for the winter and as usual it is by far THE BEST in the valley!!! LOVE it!!!!
A little expensive but food is good. There is always one or two people in any restaurant who think they need to speak and laugh loudly which ruins everybody else experience. If you are one of those people, try considering others and keep your experiences at your own table. Thank you.
Okura is my favorite restaurant in the area. The food is outstanding... the staff is very friendly and professional...the ambiance is very relaxing. I look forward to going there whenever I am in La Quinta. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Service was excellent, and food was amazing. The protein rolls were the best I've ever had.
When they first opened we found this gem and then after a few more get away weekends we couldn’t remember the name. We came down last weekend and we’re lucky enough to found this wonderful restaurant again! It will now always be on our radar when we visit our favorite getaway town! The best sushi in town. Everyone has always been so wonderful! Thank you 💗
The best sushi restaurant in the desert I would recommend it to anyone.
Beyond noisy. After food order taken it took 40 minutes to get the food from the kitchen. Our waiter, Adam, tried to stay away from our table since he knew we had waited so long for our food. Never again for us.
Enjoyed it very much!
Always good every time
Best True Japanese in our area and we'll worth the drive if you live a distance away. Always fresh fish with wide array of total goodness. I garantee you'll want to come back! The staff is fabulous and so charming and knowledgeable so give it a try, you won't regret it.
Really special food and service. We will be back! This restaurant was recommended to us a part of a weekend wedding celebration. It is just a special place with great food. Our server, Hiroko, couldn't have been better or more efficient. The manager and floor managers made sure that everyone had a perfect experience. Great recommendation!
Although they forgot to check me in upon arrival for my reservation, (which lead to OpenTable sending me a “no-show” email, which was easily cleared up), and the fact that as soon as we paused from ordering, the check was given to us without asking if there was anything else we wanted to order, the sushi was excellent!
This was our second visit and we loved the salmon, bbq pork ribs, spider roll and California roll. We love Okura.
While the service was outstanding, I was somewhat disappointed with the food. Our Tiger roll was mushy, not spicy as noted on the menu. The mussels we very tough and small and not at all what I would expect. The atmosphere is vibrant, the interior was a pleasant surprise as the exterior lacks appeal. It looks much like a corner strip mall take out restaurant. Overall the bill was $175 for 2 persons and we did not order main courses, only apps! So I felt it was overpriced.
This was our second time and the food was terrific and portions were big will definitely return
Awesome place. It just keeps getting better. Been coming here since it opened.
Food never disappoints!
We eat here often and normally have a good experience. This visit was different. It took over 45 minutes for our first rolls. During that time no one checked on us or explained why our food was taking so long. Others who came in after us were getting their food while we waited. Needless to say, we did not order more rolls but would have if we had not experienced this difficulty.
Amazing food as always. Very creative sushi rolls and delicious tempura!
Best sushi in the desert! I go for their yellowtail collar that is absolutely delicious! All their food is delicious! We went two times in the last few weeks and the service was excellent! A must try & love like we do!
Our favorite sushi spot in the desert. Save your appetite for dinner and try the all you can eat menu. Outstanding value. We were there Saturday night at 7.30 and the restaurant was packed with a line of people who had not made reservations waiting as long as 45 mins. We were seated within 5 mins of our reservation time and, despite the crowd, the service was prompt and the food delicious.
