Great experience but quite pricey.
Amazing. And the best bartender
The food was excellent as always. The service was slightly off its usual high standard. It could have been the lack of AC. It was very uncomfortably warm in the restaurant.
The Food was very good and the service was very attentive. The two improvements I would suggest are improvements in the acoustics of the room (the noise can be overwhelming) and a more expansive dessert menu. Other than that it was very good.
OKO features American interpretation of Japanese cuisine. It is superb. The quality of of the sushi is rarely equaled let alone surpassed. The tempura was skilled prepared with a thin, crisp coating and served with both the traditional soy-sauce based dip and with an excellent aioli. The okonomiyaki was rated outstanding by a native of Osaka, the home of okonomiyaki. The selection of O-sake is excellent with a number of highly rated daiginjos.
We were not checked through open table and it was reported as a no show but we were definitely there. Please correct.
We loved it! Very cool setting. The cocktails were delicious. The dishes were a fun mix of traditional Japanese concepts with innovative twists. We tried several ranging from sushi, to tempura and some entrees. My wife and I can’t wait to come back and tried what we weren’t able the first time. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable and friendly; willing to offer advice or suggestions without being pushy or condescending in anyway. Overall a terrific evening.
This is by far the best sushi I have had in Connecticut. It was super fresh, excellent display and so delicious. It seems like it’s expensive but it is not compared to what you get and other sushi places. I highly recommend going here. I sat at the chefs table and the service was fantastic. Everything I ate was fantastic!
The food gets better and better. They set the bar high yet still continue to exceed our expectations.
Since I am a japanese, I am familiar about Sushi. One thing OKO does not understand is "tempi" sushi. Temaki is to enjoy crispy nori (seaweed paper) but when you order 3 or more temaki (you can't order one) , after second tempi nori (sea weed) is soggy and became soft. It kills taste of temaki. I am disappointed about temaki.
Amazing food and excellent service. Thank you for an amazing experience!

Awesome food and service.
Delicious! Very creative Japanese-inspired food with top class service, everything was enjoyable apart from the curious decision to play 60s pop songs at high volume over the noise of an already crowded restaurant.
Enjoyed our meal hugely and look forward to going back to try some of the other many dishes
Some of the best food that I've had in Fairfield County. Our waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and helpful when it came to deciding what to order.
We will be back on 8/16 same time, place and server (Julia)
Fantastic food. No way is it a 2 Star price though. It's 4 at least. That's said, everything was delicious, service was great and the ambiance is very relaxing.
I LOVE OKO! We always go to Oko when we want to treat ourselves. The food is delicious and you have to savor every bite. We usually get the Chef's Selection of nigiri (an pray we get the Chutoro), along with the mouthwatering Duck & Foie Gras Gyoza. On our last visit we had the Fried Chicken Bao Bun, which did not disappoint! Thank you Chef Lewis!
Excellent food and service!
Not your standard sushi joint. Unique tastings will excite your palate. A refreshing starter is the cabbage & split pea salad. Sit at the bar for an up close experience.
Awesome in every way
Food was good but pricey for the portions. Still probably the best place in the Westport/Fairfield area for high quality sushi. Service was exceptional as well.
This was our first visit to OKO. Food was delicious. Sushi was just fine. Cooked food, divine. Particularly, the short rib. Would def go back.
Love it! Ordered many dishes and shared. Fantastic time.
Some of the freshest fish we've ever tasted. The service was outstanding, the food was innovative and delicious, and the atmosphere was perfect for date night. Absolutely memorable dining experience!
This was our second time and we were celebrating my acceptance of a new job. The food was ok . We had ordered food in a timely manner and had taken many of suggestions. We realized from our previous trip that this was not a place where you could have a leisurely dinner and were pacing ourself accordingly. However our meal was pre emoted by the waiter rudely taking our menu away so we could not order further. Shortly after our last dish was delivered which the waiter had recommended we were rudely asked to take our food and drinks to the bar. While the staff offered complimentary drinks as some type apeasment it did not negate the terrible experience on what should of been a momentous evening for us.
The sushi is outstanding but not inexpensive--$25 for 5 pieces, $45 for 10. But admittedly, it is some of the best sushi this side of Tokyo. Great Sake selection as well. On our last visit though, we decided after sushi and sashimi to order a Duck special for $31 to split between the 2 of us. There were four tiny pieces of thinly sliced duck in the entire dish. It was good but the stinginess of the duck made us wonder if they were running out of duck and decided to stretch it out. No one could have thought that was an adequate serving for one person. Very disappointing.
Amazing fish and apps. Great drinks - chef de cuisine Christian doing amazing things with fish! Amberjack, Sockeye, and sugar kelp from Stonington all amazing! Vanilla ice for dessert was sublime!
Went on a first date and I picked a place that would be unique and different. Her request was to go to a restaurant that would be carb lite. I arrived early and had a nice conversation with two fine gentleman behind the bar about music. When my date arrived we were seated and unbeknownst to me she never experienced Japanese cuisine. Our server rocked! She was very patient with my date in selecting her food. I then let her completely choose my food which was a smart decision as her choices were superb. I will definitely be pack and would recommend this restaurant to my friends, family and strangers reading this review.
Great night, relaxing yet invigorating, welcoming with a very fresh vibe. Amazing food. Service was impeccable. We ordered more food to take with us so we could share with friends it was so delicious.
Great service! All the food was well presented and the suggestions were fantastic. I went with my wife and we both had a great culinary experience. I also tried 2 of their signature drinks and they did not disappointed. Overall excellent restaurant and will be going back for sure.
Always a treat. Best local sushi. Fish quality is phenomenal.
Anything Brian Lewis does is going to involve phenomenal, flavorful food. This was our 4th visit and the quality of the fish and the presentation did not disappoint. The king crab sushi and the duck gyoza were special standouts on this visit.
The service execution was uncharacteristically inconsistent on this visit. While the restaurant handled the slip ups appropriately there were enough mistakes to warrant a comment.
Oko is highly recommended
The food is so delicious but so different from any other restaurant. Hats off to chef Brian Lewis and his team. The unique list of Japanese whiskeys and whiskys is outstanding. I suggest going with a group of friends so you can try everything on the menu.
Chose for Graduation celebration based on food rating. Decor was very industrial and not very festive. Wait staff was rude and intrusive. Menu was hard to navigate and the food was extremely fresh but not very creative. Plus the food came rushing out all at once. We were literally out of the restaurant in 25 min flat! Won’t be going back.
Whenever you want to escape the traditional cuisine of fairfield county and truly take a step above the rest.
Loved the clean and minimalistic decor however, our waitress was on autopilot and took away my hand towel before I even used it. I ordered the king salmon which was small but absolutely delicious and the carrot and avocado salad which was TINY and made with two charred baby carrots that looked too burned to eat. The salad which contained quinoa was also impossible to pick up with chopsticks. Left hungry and a little disappointed.
We have come here about 5-6 times since opened, but not in the past year. Overall, disappointing. Noise level deafening. Food mixed. Seaweed salad chewy with not much taste. Remembered poke as a dish we liked on earlier visits so ordered again. Very bland with little flavor /taste. Scallops very good as was the salmon. Service friendly but inefficient. We arrived about 9 pm and it took awhile for them to come to table. After ordering wine and a few appetizers, she told us kitchen had closed even though it states they are open until 10. To her credit we did get to order more, but felt very rushed. They need to do better.
This was our third experience at OKO. It doesn’t disappoint. Sushi is so fresh. Worth the $$$
Overpriced, sushi was not good, menu was confusing and on top of that parking and finding the place was ridiculous. Tempura was the saving dish and I don't usually like tempura. Building was very cool.
