Great food, very nice decoration, and the servers are kind and friendly. One of my favourite restaurants!
Great okonomiyaki and Asahi on tap.
A lovely little reminder of Japan.
Delicious food, attentive service, great ambience, highly recommended!
never had a bad night here, fantastic place.
Amazing food and a unique restaurant. The staff where so kind and friendly. Very authentic japanese, highly recommend.
very good! staff was lovely in helping us finding the restaurant
Amazing place. Feels very authentic. Loved the food and service.
Loved everything about our evening - great food and atmosphere. Would definitely go back.
Dainty, aunthentic japanese restaurant. The food is delicious and the place is such comforting !! Thank you Okan for bringing a little of the fabulous Japanese culture to London !! Until next time !!
Excellent food as always cannot fault it. Worth a visit
Exceptional Japanese food, top quality. The staff are all extremely kind, helpful and fast/hard working. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Authentic vibe, tasty food. Really loved cheese and mochi okoniyaki!
Highly recommend! Amazing food and staff are excellent with customers
The atmosphere and the staff were lovely. Yet the food was not as I expected it, having lived in Osaka for quite a while. It was good quality in comparison to those fake Japanese restaurants around London, yet I think there were some adaptations to western taste that I did not expect. Perhaps the ingredients tasted different as well? Overall good experience though!
The food are brilliant, easy booking, staffs are super nice.
Felt like little Japan! Beautiful food and drinks :)
The food was really good and value for money. The ambience and decoration were great too. The staff were lovely and helpful
Second visit here - takes me back to Osaka! I love sitting facing the kitchen and watching the chefs prepare the okinomoyaki which is fantastic. Good range of Japanese beers and sake served hot or cold.
Very authentic Japanese experience with amazing food and super friendly service! I'd walked past it dozens of times, tucked in County Hall, and had no idea it was there. I wish I'd gone sooner and will definitely go back.
Excellent all round. We were staying nearby and stumbled across this place when googling for restaurants near our hotel. Our son travelled around Japan a couple of years ago and said this restaurant, food etc was very authentic. A little piece of Japan right next to the London Eye! Great value too for London. It was also nice to go out for dinner to somewhere a bit different. Kids loved it. We would definitely recommend it, and will visit again.
An absolute gem of a restaurant. Fantastic food and ambience.
I love the place, it feels so unique.
I like the food options and the fact they cook them right there, but would also appreciate a few more options in the menu.
Over-priced for what it was. Wouldn't choose to go back.
Absolutely loved it. Great food, atmosphere, friendly staff
Described as authentic and it actually was. Delicious okonomiyaki and sweet service. Happy to return!
The beef was over cooked, the seats were awkwardly placed and the food was mediocre for the price.
Absolutely great food, cute setting. The okonomiyaki was so tasty! Recommend it to anyone who want authentic Japanese food and service!
Great evening, lovely restaurant, brilliant food, had a really nice evening with a friend reliving a trip to Japan last year! Will definitely be going back!
Sat at the counter so I could observe how the staffs were working; only 3 of them ( including the kitchen) but they were managing so well; cooking, serving customers, taking orders, cleaning, even washing up, all very smoothly done and with calmness. I was very impressed. The food was also very good. The atmosphere was cosy and intimate. Will definitely go back!
Very Good 👍 good food good services
My wife was working late, so I decided to go to Okan on my own to get a bite to eat.
The food was amazing! I've always wanted to go to Japan, and I felt very much like I was not in London, but in Japan! Staff were Japanese, and the music was also Japanese.
I felt like I had taken a 1 hour holiday to a back alley eatery in Osaka!
Loved it, highly recommend.
Small venue with great food and vibes, highly recommend
Our second visit and just as good. Food is delicious and the Japanese cocktails very addictive. It’s a small, cosy place so not suitable for large parties but great for 2 to 4 people. We shall be back.
The tapas style was quite nice but honestly the ingredients were poor and the mains tasted like packet noodles with bacon and the chicken curry had literally barely any chicken in it.
Really nice and authentic restaurant; would recommend!
We were half-way through our main meal when we were asked to leave because the table was reserved for another booking. We had only been there for an hour and 15 mins, and had ordered a drink, appetiser and a main meal, and we weren't told at the beginning that the table time was VERY limited. I haven't had this problem in the past when dining here, and perhaps this is only a one-off circumstance. Still, it was disconcerting and will make me think again about eating here. Food is very very good if you have time to eat it!
Essentially you are sitting in a super casual Japanese kitchen (which I loved) so this a place to enjoy and relax. The food was delicious, the staff were really friendly and helpful. We could only eat for 1hr because of covid restrictions (which is fine) but I wished we could have stayed for longer!
Visiting Okan was such a wonderful dining experience. We initially walked straight past it and the inside is very small, but it all adds to the authentic Japanese street food experience. The waitress was incredibly attentive and the menu mouthed watering. Having been to japan the food at okan isn’t quite the same level, but tasty nonetheless. I’d highly recommend okan to anyone near Waterloo after an affordable bite and a different London dining experience!
