   There is so much energy in Oishei, that is could power the neighborhood. With each visit, the place is PACKED! It’s loud, it’s rocking and it’s busy! We had 7 for dinner. And our waiter was doing all he can to keep our sushi coming. The edamame was lightly seasoned and delicious. Add, 43, steak sushi, spring rolls and more and we ate through the menu! Go, eat , enjoy and realize this place a monument to sushi in Dallas

   Have visited Oishi on Wycliff and the one on Preston several times but made reservations at SMU because we had plans nearby. Reservation was for 5 and when we checked in was told at the front desk that limit to stay there was an hour and a half and after that we had to leave. What kind of greeting is that? We wouldn’t ever take that long for 2 people but the fact they greeted us like that was a huge turn off not to mention we were only 2 of 10 people in the whole restaurant. Secondly the waiter asked us if we needed anything else after he brought out our sushi and 5 min later we have our check at the table. Worst experience ever felt rushed from the get go and will never be back

   It was our anniversary. I specifically requested a table by the window. No friendly welcome. No acknowledgement of our anniversary. Instead we were told we have to leave the table within 1.5 hours. Never ever been told that one has to leave within a timeframe. It’s not we are a large party Got a small table for 2. We asked for a bigger table. Denied. 10 minutes later several couples were seated by the window in the larger tables. It took 35 minutes to get our food. Sushi ?? Those seated 20 mins after us got their food. We sat under the air vent and it was miserable freaking cold. It was turned off for 5 minutes. Thank goodness I brought a sweater !! Very disappointed after i bragged to my husband to try this place instead of our regular sushi place. What a miserable dinner time. Cold. Waited for good. Terrible edamame… how can one screw that up? Don’t get the spicy one.

   My favorite location of my favorite sushi restaurant. I cannot quite the Royce Roll (hold the truffle oil) and the Himalayan “Roll”. I love that there are so many options without rice or nori. And the tobiko flakes are a delicious surprise. Half price wine bottles (this location only) are a great deal. And sitting at the counter, watching the team do their thing is a lot of fun. My favorite prep task to watch is when they cut the cucumber into thin sheets - by hand! The only thing I would change is the noise level and interior finish out. I wish it was a little less cafeteria like with the seating.

    Great sushi spot! The m&m roll and the 44 roll are great. Highly recommend going but I’d skip the lychee martini as it was not very good.
