Oink and Moo BBQ and Brew
Great food. I had a terrific dinner.
The name, Oink and Moo says it all. Fine bar b que, great cornbread, hush puppies and baked beans sides. Great variety of meats with generous portions. I always have enough to take home for a second meal.
There was a singer the night we went there and he was a little loud. You couldn’t have any conversation till he took a break.
Looking forward to a good BBQ dinner we were disappointed. The baby back ribs were dry and without taste and the brisket was the fattest piece of meat I have ever ordered. My wife's beef tacos were covered in a sour cream sauce that did not work. This place has a long way to go to get it right. Dry BBQ is as bad as it gets.
Good for service and tasty food.
Always good food! Glad we finally have good BBQ near us. Service is good also!
We love eating here. The food is great. We try something different every time and it is always delicious. The food is consistently good. Highly recommended!
The cornbread was very good, the pulled pork was good, the brisket was dry as others have pointed out. HOWEVER one of the buns for my son's sliders was moldy at the bottom, which he did not notice until after taking a bite. They comped his meal but not the rest, then offered free desert but we had already lost our appetite. My son says he is willing to try again, I am not so sure.
I grew up in NC and cannot find great BBQ in NJ, but Oink & Moo comes pretty close. I can overlook the fact their hushpuppies are more like fritters given they hit a nice smoke flavor balance with their brisket and pulled pork, Cracklins were fresh, hot, and delicious. Banana Pudding was the only miss, as it was too sweet and the Nilla Cookie factor was amiss. Spicy slaw was not very spicy but better than the buttermilk version which was very bland- they serve both. Cornbread was fresh and moist.
They have a very small bar, but it is very well stocked. And while they have a good offering of beers and liquors, the wine selection was rather unexciting.
We will absolutely return, because sometimes that itch has to be scratched and our first visit to Oink & Moo was fun and delicious.
Had a great time. Friday was music. It was perfect. Not too loud. I did not see happy hour advertised
the food was delicious, however I think it was a little pricey. I honestly wouldn't go again unless someone Im dining with really wants to go.
The food and service was amazing. Andrew (our waiter) was very attentive. He made ideal drink and food suggestions for us. The appetizers and meals came out in a quick yet unrushed fashion. The portions were substantial which always makes me feel like I'm getting a great value. Additionally and most importantly, the food tasted absolutely AMAZING! It is casual and comfortable. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for BBQ! We hope to return soon!
Absolutely terrible. Food was cold, sent it back. Brought out new order and that was cold as well. This could have been the worst meal I've had in many years. Dried out bbq brisket. Over cooked and dried out smoked sausage. One Star review is over doing this place.
Setting was very good - we had an outside patio table. Service was also good, however food and drinks did not live up to the expectations.
Best pulled pork I have ever has, no knife needed. Shread off delicate strands of succulent flavorful pork that literally melts in your mouth. As for the ribs well i will never order them again. The meat was good quality. . .but there was an off flavored rub which was not at all inviting.
Oink & Moo serves some fantastic bbq food. It's out quickly, fresh and incredibly flavorful. The service is exceptional. the main dining room can get loud as sound/conversation carries very easily through the room and if it's full it can be a cacophony of sound. The beer list is solid, but i wish it would highlight more local breweries from NJ.
Beautiful restored building. Excellent service. Food was very good. We enjoyed pulled pork sliders and the pulled pork and brisket combo. All meat tender and well smoked. Might up to 5 star food if it stays consistent on our next visit. Spicy Margarita was excellent. Will definitely dine here again.
The highlight of this restaurant is the barbecue, which is consistently good. The baked beans and cole slaw were also very good. The ranch dressing on the salad was overly garlicky and I couldnt taste anything but garlic. The cornbread was generic and needs work. Theres nothing distinctive about it. The cucumber vodka lemonade is delicious, and I’m pretty sure I detected a bit of jalapeno in there. We didnt order dessert so I can't comment on them but nothing jumped out at me. The main issue we had was very slow service. There was no consistent timing, we had to ask for silverware when our entrees arrived. This would have been understandable if they were busy but nobody was there and the staff were congregating around the bar television. We literally were in a room with no other diners. So I found the experience very weird but the food was good. We will try them again hopefully on a busier night.
Great food and service. Will definately be back. We tried the wings, ribs, pulled pork, and brisket!
Made from scratch sauces and spicy slaw and desserts and a bunch of other stuff. Meats are smoked daily and fall off the bone. I had the ribs with best side of Mac n Cheese yet. The ribs were meaty, flavorful and slathered in sauce. This place used to be fancy Perryville Inn... now inside is authentic simple BBQ joint. Like stepping into Texas or Alabama, hope this area accepts this place for I have and will return!
