I know it's a castle but the place smells musty when you walked in.
My lobster bisque soup was warm and it had a coating on the top layer. It was in the kitchen waiting for the server to bring it out. For $16.00 I expect it to be hot. However, the tuna tartare was very good!
We were quite disappointed with the food and the especially the service. The waitress came by only once to check on us. This restaurant is definitely not worth the money and we won't be coming back for dinner maybe for drinks only.
Great experience amazing service good food
I love Oheka castle. The food is always top notch. The very best crab cakes I have ever eaten anywhere. The tuna tartare is also better than anything I have ever had. The views are stunning and the atmosphere lovely. My complaint is service. We had 8 pm reservations and don’t get to sit till 8:30. Took forever to get a waitress to get us drinks and take our order. We didn’t finish dinner till after 11:00pm because of the wait time. I’ve been there before but for some reason service was poor that night
Excellent time great food great service. Service from the bar was a little slow waited 30 minutes for cocktails.
Absolutely breathtaking views and the food was out of this world. We had a very nice waiter named Juliano. He was awesome and gave excellent suggestions of what to try.
amazing atmosphere. amazing food. cant wait to come back
Perfect place for a date, ladies luncheon and special occasions.
Eating dinner in a castle was just outstanding! We were celebrating our 25th Anniversay and it turned out to be such a wonderful, delicious experience! It poured the night we were there, so we are looking forward to going back on a beautiful day to enjoy the grounds and scenery. The food was excellent, which was really such a great surprise for the evening because you never know if it's going to be sub par because the draw is the castle. But the chef, the waiter Christopher, and even the owner, Gary, all made a lasting impression on us. We will certainly be going back to Oheka!!!
Beautiful location. Away from the city. Peaceful and the staff is really nice and helping. I would definitely go there again
Our second time here and always satisfying!
The staff, the food, the ambiance, the surrounding scenery, the service are Excellent!
A special place fit for a queen. Service was excellent food was fresh and inviting with artistic flare.
Fabulous dining in a location reminiscent of the Gold Coast of The Great Gatsby. Superb menu, outstanding variety and an impressive wine and cocktail menu-combine that with outstanding service and you are in for a great night.
Always an excellent meal and the service is great!
Great experience. It’s a beautiful place. My family loves it
The food was disappointing overall for the four diners on Saturday night. The caesar salad was unimpressive. Pistachio crust on lamb chops was way too salty. The vegetable side dishes were bland. Salmon was completely overcooked and dry. Duck was very good, but served lukewarm. Tuna was the only entrée that received good reviews.
Our server was friendly and accommodating, but seemed inexperienced. She only remembered to give us the written list of specials when we asked for it. It took 20 minutes to serve the entrees after the appetizers. Another server told us they had an “event” which caused the delay. The restaurant patrons’ experience should not suffer since this is a catering facility as well as a public restaurant so this must happen every weekend. Enough staff should be on hand in the kitchen to handle both venues. The host offered an after dinner drink to the diner of the lukewarm duck. When he asked the other 3 if they would like a drink also, we declined but said we would just like coffee. The drink was gratis but we were charged for the coffees.
This is a true treasure on Long Island and not only a fabulous night but cozy atmosphere reasonably priced and great dinner we will be back!
We had an amazing time. Food was really good and the service too.
Food was fantastic. Service was exceptional. OHK is always expensive, but a lovely treat!
Amazing environment. The owner as always very attentive and cordial. Thank you Oheka!
Our luncheon was wonderful. Such a lovely place. Can't wait to return.
oheka castle is a breathtaking location.the restaurant reflects that level of sophistication.the best component of the meal was the server.christopher was top shelf all the way.he customized a dish for my wife who is gluten free.he was ever present but never instrusive.the food was quite good .the price point was what what one would expect at such a restaurant.
we have now been to both lunch and dinner.we prefer lunch only because one gets a much better view of the gardens during the day.when you visit the restaurant take a few minutes to explore the library and other rooms.it is really a speical location with a very rich and interesting history.
oheka is not a spot to replace your friday night chinese jones.it is a wonderful location for special events or to make an evening special.
last but not least ask for christopher.he is that good! pax mann
It was our 1 year wedding anniversary and there was no better choice to celebrate than at Oheka Castle. The food, the service, the ambiance was nothing short of perfect. Couldn’t ask for more!! Thank you Oheka and Gary for welcoming us to your home!!
Excellent experience yet again at this wonderful location. Food was very good and service was attentive and friendly. Great place for a special occasion.
Venue is beautiful, thoughtful efficient service, can’t say enough about how amazing the food was. Best duck I’ve ever had.
The decor could use an upgrade. Especially the ceiling. Fixtures there are tired and warn. Food was delicious. And views are lovely. Needs some TLC on decor to match.
First we had a drink at the bar where the bartender was exceptionally friendly; the bar offered some creative cocktails too. Staying at the hotel, we later returned for dinner and both felt it was a great place to celebrate our anniversary. The staff was very attentive and the food was excellent. I had filet mignon while my husband had swordfish; we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Portions were generous and the presentation was excellent. Even the bread was exceptional as it was served with a warm Roquefort fondue sauce. I would love to have that recipe!
The table was in corner away from Georges Windows! The light lunch was not good. The appetizers were good! The service was slow and nonresponsive when asking for bread or ice!
Had a very nice lunch for my moms birthday. Would highly recommend for a special occasions.
Unfortunately two times things dropped and we're near our table and created quite a chatter. a few too many sweet things in the dressings and sauces . Yet a pleasure to be on the lovely grounds and the wonderfully restored Gold Coast home
Great to see the owner again and listen to his kind words- We've been here a number of times and this time we took some guests from PA to see the whole place and have a fine meal.
Pleasant and professional staff. Food was so delicious. Out-of -state guest enjoyed the whole experience dinning at oheka.
Oheka has to be one of the most luxurious places to have lunch or dinner. Everything is top notch. Staff is always professional, and the chef and his menu are outstanding. Do not miss a chance to experience dinning in this CASTLE !
Charming restaurant, and the bar is a classic. Elegant experience.
My husband and I went for a birthday dinner, was a very beautiful place, customer service was great, food was great, we will be returning.
Awesome night. Bring money. But it’s worth it.
You're paying big $ for the view - it's VERY romantic, and a beautiful place 100%, but I would recommend saving this place for a special night or event. Food was pretty good, but super expensive as to be expected.
It is magical every time we go to Oheka. We have been there for our anniversary, my birthday and other special occasions. We have stayed at the castle, and have just gone to the restaurant on other occasions. The food, the service and the setting are all exquisite. I highly recommend a lunchtime visit from time to time. It is always quiet and simply wonderful. You can enjoy a stroll outside during the warm months. It is a bit less formal during lunch and so warm and welcoming. Dinner is always fantastic! About the food -the Burrata appetizer is one of the best I have had anywhere. It is accompanied by a wonderful assortment of olives with pimento and artichoke along with a pesto accoutrement. The seafood salad is so fresh, light, and full of wonderful flavor. My husband loved the chicken and waffle appetizer with siraccha. A twist on the traditional Harlem favorite. If you get an opportunity to visit... do it!
awesome place for dinner, drinks. we will return for a tour next!
I went there twice in three days to celebrate my birthday and enjoyed every minute !
