OHEKA Bar & Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
I brought my friend here to thank her for being such a great friend. Neither of us had ever been to OHEKA before but I had heard about it from someone whose daughter had had her wedding in the castle. She could not stop talking about how everything was perfect and amazing. She spoke the truth. We enjoyed the castle tour followed by lunch in the restaurant. I normally don't like to recommend things to people because everyone has different taste but I cannot imagine anyone not loving this place. It's fantastic! We even got to meet the famous hero, Gary the builder, without whom none of this would have been possible.
Can’t say enough good things about this place. Best damn crab cakes i have ever had. My wife and I were married here and continue to come for date nights. The service is excellent and the staff very friendly. The menu is constantly changing so I try new things each time I come, and I can honestly say I have yet to get a dish I did not finish. Looking forward to my next visit.
Felt transported to another world once you enter the grounds. Tuna tartare was fresh and portion size was generous. My pisco signature drink was beautiful and refreshing. The swordfish tasted great but it could have been a tad bigger. Jasmine rice needs improvement. Baby bock Choi was perfectly steamed. Had the bananas foster for dessert which is big enough for two. I also liked the fact that we didn't feel rushed. Wait staff kept us well serviced without being annoying
My boyfriend and I enjoyed a very nice meal for (belated) Valentine’s Day. The food was delicious, the tables and ambiance was very pleasant. The price was more expensive than I would normally spend on a good meal but we had a gift card. The castle inside was a little underwhelming but the grounds are beautiful.
Everything was fantastic from the greeting all the way through dinner!
Michael was our server and he has obviously been trained in fine dining and
explained the menu and special in detail. They served a special break with dipping gorgonzola cheese sauce which was to die for. They realized we loved it so much and dropped another serving on our table. The food was excellent and my filet mignon
was cooked to perfection. All the dishes were spot on and it was obvious the chef paid particular attention to detail. To top it off we had the Giant Chocolate Cake for dessert! Michael truly wouldn't let us leave until we finished it (which we didn't). The cake was fantastic and we weren't rushed and enjoyed our entire dinner. Thanks to the entire staff for being so friendly and allowing us to enjoy a beautiful romantic Valentines Day dinner!

It was Valentine’s Day for me and my girlfriend and the waiters were so friendly and polite. The environment was the best and we even got to meet the owner of the castle. It was a fantastic night a night to remember. Me and my girlfriend will surely be coming back. And the dessert was even better. The best place for a romantic time.
This was our first time after many years of hearing about it and seeing it as a choice on Open Table We decided to try for our Valentine’s dinner. The drive in approach is an experience in itself - the feeling of going to a special hidden place down a tree lined road through an arched opening and entering a cobble stone courtyard. The dining room with the wood beams and tall windows is lovely. Will have to come back when the days are longer to be able to appreciate the views out the windows. The service was very attentive especially meeting the owner welcoming you to his home. We had the appetizer specials Portuguese style clams and the fried burrata and artichoke salad was large enough to be an entree. The salad dressing delicious however we found the breading coating on the artichoke and burrata a bit too heavy. The clams in the Portuguese style broth excellent.
We both had the Striped Bass Siciliano from the standard menu - covered with shell fish and a deliciously rich red sauce Oh forgot to mention the toasty bread with a creamy cheese sauce for dipping. Needless to say we thought we were too full for dessert but after looking at the menu decided to share the chocolate pecans torte - worth the calories This will be memorable Valentine’s Day dinner and plan to return.
It was our first time here. We had a very nice time. It was low key but we enjoyed the serenity. We sat at the bar and had a glass of wine. We were seated for dinner right away. Attentive service. We both had an appetizer and an entree and then shared a dessert. Food was delicious and well played and displayed. I would recommend it. The only thing I would have enjoyed more would be some live music (piano player or a singer)
Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, with incredible food, romantic atmosphere, and friendly professional service, we saw a gentleman visiting all the guest tables. We learned that he was not only the owner of the entire castle estate, but a genuinely warm and friendly man who brought us another round of drinks on the House! What a spectacular evening.
I set up what I thought was going to be a special Birthday celebration for my boyfriend, I also booked a suite for the night as well. I specified in the open table reservation that it is a Birthday and to "put a candle in the dessert" I even followed up by phone with the restaurant to confirm and expressed how I wanted him to feel special for his bday. I noticed that there were several other bday celebrations that night and each birthday person was brought out their dessert with candles and were sang to, I thought great this is what is to be expected. Our waiter was anything but attentive, he left us with our drinks for what seemed like an eternity before coming back to ask if we decided what we were going to eat. He took our order and left, I found it odd that he hadn't brought out their complimentary bread and dip so I asked another waiter and I guess she relayed the message to him because he brought it out shortly after without apologizing for the wait. The type of table we sat at had pull out ends for additional spacing to accommodate the food, however when the waiter came to clean up he moved a glass of water over the part of the table which isn't leveled and it fell wetting the table and my boyfriends lap! He apologized and moved us to another table. Fast forward to the dessert; he left us with menus for over ten minutes that I had to again call on another waiter for attention! We put in our order for dessert, he asked us how we take our coffee and yet brought the coffee out with no sugar or milk but I was shocked when he brought out the dessert without the candle or a happy birthday serenade. I quickly whispered please check the reservation notes and he said "oh, no problem" came back 5 minutes later with a small cup holder filled with whipped cream with a candle and plopped it on the table with a sharp "happy Birthday" while my boyfriend was on the phone. Disappointed does NOT come close to what I experienced!! We were treated like peasants in this castle.
Dined here for the first time for my 55th Birthday. It was noted on the reservation it was my birthday and that we wanted a romantic table, both were met wonderfully! I loved how the owner came to each table for a quick hello! Wonderful, memorable and magical! A “must dine”place!
I have been here a few times before with a dining group. This time, through OpenTable, i took a friend out for her birthday here. The one remarkable thing i enjoy eating is the crab cakes. It is not fried. I usually order two one one plate as my entree. The desserts were decent. I am biased since i am a good baker. The lobster meatballs were a quality item, though pricey compared to other places. It was well worth it. The owner, Gary Melis, came around to greet all the diners. Not the first time I have met him. He is a gracious, gregarious, amiable owner. He is fun to talk with.
So, if you are interested in good food and want to class it up a bit, get your car washed, put on your best suit and take your lady out to Oheka Castle.
