Where do I begin?
We spent $130.00 on dinner on a Wednesday evening.
The setting was historic, and grad, though it needed some serious upgrading, especially the menu.
Our duck was overcooked, short rib sliders were not helt in your mouth, but seems like it was sitting in a bin for 3 days before being served to me.
To make matters worse, the owner Gary is very touchy feely. He started off by rubbing my partnersshoulders, and then my right shoulder, and then proceed to switch sides and win my right shoulder. What a fucken creep.
Stopped by for lunch, great food, great service and fantastic setting. Will remember my trip to Oheka castle for all the above reasons.
It was great!
Oheka Castle, a beautifully preserved Gold Coast mansion in Huntington. The majestic gates slowly opened to allow us to enter the extensive driveway surrounded by formidable hedges on each side. Restaurant staff were all delightfully courteous. The food was done to perfection. It was for moms birthday celebration dinner and we wanted to go to an extraordinary place.
All of the food we ordered was cooked to perfection. Mussels & clams, coconut shrimp, calamari appetizers. Shrimp & lobster avocado alfredo, Short ribs, NY strip, Salmon athena, for the main courses. We can’t wait to go back & try some of the other selections on the menu. Please don’t pay attention to any of the negative reviews.
To put things into perspective, we love the restaurant Prime but we don’t like the seafood restaurant H20.
Here are picks for Italian food. We love Carmine’s ( uptown ) NYC not so much Tony DiNapolis. We love Puchinellas, Massapequa. Arturo’s, Floral Park. Lastly our favorite for Italian food is Patrizias, Williamsburg Brooklyn ( down the road from Peter Lugers ).
Beautiful place that I have always wanted to go to. The food was better than I expected and so were the portions. I had the wild salmon. The service was better than I have seen in many other restaurants in the area. I hope to come again.
Overall good place and great great service!!! It would better tohave some background music at the outdoor sitting area... tooo quite and so people could hear others conversations.
Birthday they are very accommodating
Menu needs more entree’s and less sandwiches, esting in OHEKA is always special
Oheka castle was built in 1919 and it is everything you would expect a castle to be. It reminded me of Downton Abbey and the Shining (but not really spooky). The food was very good but the ambiance is what made it worth the cost.
Excellent views, perfect day, with friends
They loved the castle
As always, an excellent time!
The setting is fantastic and the food was excellent. I highly recommend the maple bourbon speciality drink. The service was wonderful and the owner Gary cane around several times to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. Great way to spend Mom’s 85th birthday lunch.
everything is nice but my plate came out dirty. It was not wash properly. It still have left over veg on it. I did not notify anyone. I was with my wife. I dont want to make a scene. I want everything to be perfect. I understand, I will still come back.
It is a beautiful place and the service is excellent.
beautiful historic site with good food and wine list
The restaurant is in a one-of-a-kind setting. There are very few places like it. Our food was equal to the beauty of the place. The selections available would appeal to most appetites and the preparation of the dishes was absolutely perfect. I had the duck entree while my wife had the beef. The wine list was impressive which allowed for a perfect pairing with our meals. The servers are casual, as are the staff, which was a bit of a surprise considering the castle-like quality of the premise but hey were efficient and helpful and very pleasant. I highly recommend this restaurant for a wonderful meal and a lovely, romantic evening or for a formal business dining experience.
The calamari and vegetable ravioli were great. The crab cakes, lobster meatballs and chicken sandwich were dry and not seasoned well, i definitely wouldn’t recommend them. But ambiance and drinks were exceptionally well. I would also 10/10 recommend the castle tour!!
Had to hunt down server to get a drink. Also she did not know the menu and everything ordered was "out of stock" or she was confused.
Sadly due to a Wedding we were unable to walk in the gardens or go into the library. Maybe because of the wedding the kitchen seemed off. Usually the food is very good, as is the service however my meal was over cooked and by the time the we could get the server everyone else at our table had finished their dinner.
All four of us were very pleased with the food, the service and the ambiance. We plan to go back in the near future and will recommend the restaurant to friends and family.
We were a group of four and started out with the tour which was interesting, simple and fast moving. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the building and history. A fifth person joined us at 12:30 for lunch. The food was very good and the service and wait staff were all attentive and courteous. The owner "Gary" came around to the tables and welcomed us to his "house". A nice touch.
My husband and I stayed at the Oheka for our anniversary. It was beautiful and certainly had the ambience we were hoping for.
We had a very nice lunch at the castle. The castle is beautiful, scenery is magnificent. The food was delicious and was not pricey at all. Danielle was wonderful, very accommodating. Would go back again. A great time was had by all.
The food and service was excellent. It was very good to sit there with business associate to discuss important items. There was no rush to leave our table. Very comfortable table and view.
Especially enjoyed the lobster meatballs, specialty sangria and short rib grilled cheese! As usual everything was fabulous!
Excellent service and excellent ambiance food was also very good.
Our fourth Oheka restaurant experience. Overall, it was as expected: very nearly top-notch. Except for one item, the food was well prepared , tasty, and of satisfactory portions. A good place for anyone who wants a variety of unusual, not run-of-the-mill menu choices.
The items are very pricey, although probably in line with other near-by high-grade eateries.
The one item that was unsatisfactory: The lobster "meat-balls". Overcooked. Totally tasteless. Chewy to the point of being mostly inedible. The individual who ordered the lobster meat-balls had them as an appetizer. He said, as we were leaving, that if he had been here with only his wife and not with an extended family group, he would have sent the lobster meat balls back to the kitchen, and would have left immediately, fearing that the rest of what they had ordered would have been just as bad.
He was completely satisfied with the remainder of his meal, as were all of the others in my party.
Great ambiance , food, service. Special place for any occasion.
We had a remarkable dinner - we feel like family with Gary and his entire staff taking such amazing care of us. They are the BEST! Dinner and wine was fabulous. Our daughter also gets treated like a princess there - in her own castle!
We were there for lunch today. We had beautiful weather and opted to sit outside. What a glorious lunch. The food and service were fabulous. Can’t wait to go back.
Great food...nice and quiet but can get very busy...service was excellent(thank you Dave)...drinks were amazing...higher price point but worth it...overall very good and will gladly go back
Restaurant/Bar is quite informal at lunch with mostly a sandwich/salad menu. Eating on the loggia would be quite reminiscent of European country meals.
I would do the Home tour and lunch combo for a great afternoon.
Wonderful food and great service. Beautiful place. Definitely going back.
Reasonably priced full portions in a breathtaking view.
We had a lovely evening....service was very slow in the bar and my dinner was just Ok. Others loved theirs. A wonderful place for a special occasion.....just a beautiful setting. We appreciate that the owner checked in with every table.
Was very nice, will have to come back for lunch so we can see the Castle during the Day!
What a hidden gem. I can't imagine how it took us so long to find this wonderful place. Excellent service, greeted by owner, wonderful romantic atmosphere. Really exceptional dining experience.
First time at Oheka, the experience was outstanding. Our waitress MJ made the experience wonderful. She was very friendly and personable making the overall experience enjoyable. The food was great and so was the drinks. We would definitely return and love to have MJ as our waitress again.
