   We left, when we got there they had such a limited menu, only 3 things, was told it was due to the valentine's day menu, which also had no choices, for $75.00 a plate. We drove an hour to get there for Valentine's, after making reservations and looking at the menu on line.

   I had the scallops with risotto and they were perfect! Delicious, golden brown sear. The two salmon meals were “the best flavored salmon I ever had “ and the men raved about the excellent precise grilling of the 6 ounce fillets. Kudos all around! On the Open Table app I noted that we needed a minimum of stairs knowing the layout of the restaurant. We had only a few steps that were well navigated. Perfect setting for a perfect meal. Thank you.

    We stayed at Ogelbay Resort to view the Christmas lights and my husband's birthday. Food was exceptional. Husband had the 9 oz filet and I had the pork milanese. Wait staff was attentive and fun to talk to.

    Christmas buffet was delicious. Atmosphere was beautiful and our table had a view of the Festival of Lights. Our waitress (Debbie) was so enjoyable and attentive. My teenage children and I had a wonderful evening. Will be back next year!

    The food offered was not the same as on the buffet menu. The food was very poor and very few selections, based on the high price charged. It was the Holiday Buffet and definitely not worth the money. We were celebrating our anniversary and VERY disappointed.

    Our only complaint has to do with the desserts. The pies and cookies were similar to what we would purchase at our local grocery store. It was quite disappointing. As guests who have been coming for the Christmas buffet for over twenty years, we recall the delicious bread pudding and other choices that were similar to homemade. Considering the cost of the buffet, I would request that more thought be given to the dessert menu.

    Everything was excellent, variety of entrees, salads, and service was spectacular. I would like to see more varieties of pies. Mincemeat, rhubarb, lemon and apple. Smaller portions of pie slices but a larger variety. The buffet was well worth the money. I'll go again next year to the Thanksgiving and Christmas buffet.

    We had a wonderful experience at your restaurant. The holiday buffet was by far the best we've had there in years. The food was much improved over past experiences. The wait and serve staff were excellent and accommodated us graciously. We've made Oglebay, dining in the Ihlenfeld Restaurant, and the Festival of Lights an annual Christmas experience for our family. We had a terrific time throughout the resort.

    Was really looking forward to the meal. Pleasant beginning, ordered a glass of wine. (This is not Raymond, this is Carol, his wife). Looked at all the offerings, filled a plate. At the table, we began to eat. I had taken a slice of beef, some mashed potatos, the shrimp. Every single item was cold, not cold as if it had cooled as I moved to the table but cold as it came from the serving dish. The server came and asked if things were all right, I said, "do you know that everything is cold?" Her response was a blank face, a "sorry", and aggressive defensive words, blaming the customers for leaving the servers open, saying that the workers don't know until they are told by the customers and that then they would replace the food. I couldn't believe it, all the fault lay with the customers. She said they would get new food out. I said "what are you going to do with all the food that's there?" She didn't respond, I don't think. She came back, I was calmer and said, "I felt as if you verbally slapped me", she appeared insulted and said she'd get the manager. All went on after that. I never saw the wine I had ordered, until the manager came and offered to bring a glass. The whole experience was SO unpleasant, really left me feeling sorry I complained at all. I hated it. The cost was not charged to me. But, I must point out that my husband ate his whole meal of cold food. This experience colored the rest of my stay there. I did spend some time in the bar and found it resting and pleasant, as the bar tender was kind. The food in general was average. The servers in the morning at the breakfast were quite good. I am still uneasy from the whole experience.

    Five of us dined at Ihlenfeld before driving out to the festival of lights. 5 pm reservation on a Monday was perfect. Dining room is charming with tiered table arrangement that allows for nice views from the floor to ceiling picture windows. Delicious buffet with quality selections and large spread of desserts. Our server, Paula was excellent - friendly, and attentive to our needs. The dining room filled up quickly but noise level was quiet. We enjoyed a delicious and relaxing meal with added perks of beautiful indoor Christmas decor and outdoor lights/Shenk lake in full view.

    Excellent food and service! The carrots were a bit too al dente for me but since i love carrots toasted i just chewed chewed chewed. Filet was perfectly cooked and the crab imperial on top was tasty. A good substitution for a crab cake. The peppercorn sauce was so delicious… if you like pepper this is the bomb of sauces! Wine choice was a pinot noir… a nice pour and topping off the meal was the Italian cream cake. Tasty yet light

    Partaken in the Christmas buffet which was very good. Carved beef was very good but the most outstanding was the salmon. Lots of sides to choose from. Dessert was a fine piece of triple decker chocolate mousse cake. Beverage included and our server Jaden was very attentive. Definitely well choosen

    The atmosphere was perfect and tho we had the buffet, our waiter was outstanding. He treated us as tho we were the only ones he had to wait on. The food was very good and we never felt rushed. Atmosphere was quiet and the setting was cozy. The window seating is perfect. We came from the Pittsburgh area to see the Festival of Lights and enjoy the beautiful surroundings at the lodge. A great destination for the holidays.

    Ronaldo provided EXCELLENT service!! He was efficient, friendly, and helpful! The buffet selection was very good and the food was delicious. It was nice that the chef came out to check on things and was friendly and informative. Thank you for a great experience for my first visit to Oglebay.

    The selection of food choices on the buffet was limit (where were the sweet potatoes?) The dessert selection needed to be improved (some was dry, especially the cookies). And the dinner rolls were hard as rocks.
