The food we serve at Ogino is authentic modern Japanese cuisine.
The menu, conceived by proprietor and chef Rieko Ogino, is diverse and imaginative. She prides herself on delivering a full food experience that’s not only creative, but also delivers an array of complex and exquisite flavours. Her concept of modern Japanese cooking using local Yorkshire produce has proved to be a real winning formula. The menu naturally consists of beautiful sushi, but also extensively embraces fresh cooked fish and shellfish, meat including beef and pork, poultry such as chicken and duck. Even though wwe were 'virgins' in the Japanese eating experience (which is what it is) the staff were brilliant in helping us without making us feel embarrassed. It's not all raw fish and sushi....I had 12 hr cooked belly pork and terriaki beef...gorgeous. Also enjoyed watching the sushi chef making the dishes. Will certainly be going again.

Having never been to Ogino before and not knowing anyone who had been we didnt know what to expect but we needn't have worried as we were blown away by the quality of the food and the surroundings. The service was excellent too and the staff certainly knew their stuff. All in all an exceptional evening was had and we will be going back soon.

My wife and I had a very enjoyable first visit to Ogino and I am sure we will be returning. The food was excellent and service friendly. Our main courses were the duck and the hake & asparagus tempura, both of which we thoroughly enjoyed. The open kitchen looked spotlessly clean. Overall a very good visit and we're happy to recommend to others.

This was our second visit to Ogino, but this time we had a voucher so it was great value for money. I'm pleased to say we were just as pleased second time round as when we first went. Incredible fine dining style Japanese food! I would recommend sharing a rice as te portion was very generous. The only negative was we were left staring at our empty starter plates for quite some time before they were cleared away, but thiswas the only course where this happened.

Such fresh tasting food, and excellent service. Nice to be able to take the train to Beverley and home, and not being rushed.

This is the 3rd time I have eaten at Ogino and I have never been disappointed the food is excellent and the welcome and service are great. It is not cheapest place to eat in Beverley but you get what you pay for. The presentation and quality of the food is superb and is far superior to any of the high street chains.

A delightful evening out shared with family. This restaurant has become a preferred venue for us - a special night out. The food is extremely tasty. Try the sea bream or the beef teriyaki, both oozing with flavour. The sushi is a must if never tried before. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. There was a slight delay in bringing out our starters, so we were given miso soup as a complimentary free dish. A good night out and not overly expensive.

this is an hidden treasure we love it here ,the food is beautiful don't be but of being Japanese it caters for all.
