Leading this experience is our Head Chef, Carlos Wills, whose passion for the art of sushi is reflected in every detail of the 23-course menu. Each dish is a testament to his skill, creativity, and deep respect for tradition, blending classic Edo-mae techniques with innovative touches that elevate the ingredients to their fullest potential. Our Master Chef, Minoru Ogawa, travels to Japan monthly to source the highest-quality ingredients, including fish flown in from Tokyo’s renowned Toyosu Market. Each dish is a celebration of tradition and precision.

Designed for a relaxed and intimate evening, this special menu is available for $250 per couple. Upgrade your meal with a Mini Sake Pairing – a selection of four premium sakes that complement the meal perfectly. $50 per pairing

    $200.00 per person

    We are thrilled to have you dine with us at Ogawa Sushi & Kappo in Old City, Philadelphia at our counter Wednesday through Sunday, with seatings at 5:30 pm to 8 pm nightly. The omakase, priced at $200 per person, is a 23-course, traditional and authentic omakase experience which means "leave it to the chef" or "trust the chef". Our menu changes daily. The omakase experience is approximately 2 hours, so prompt timing is essential. Kindly ensure you arrive at least 10 minutes before your reservation time to allow for settling in and preparing for our experience. We have a 10-minute grace period. Full Omakase experience cannot be guaranteed for late arrivals.

    WOW! What a great experience. This is my new favorite dining experience in Philadelphia. The Omakase experience was remarkable & the service was outstanding. Our chef Andy was very knowledgeable and personable. We did a sake pairing with each course and Chrissy was lovely and also highly knowledgeable. The Omakase experience is a perfect special occasion dinner and truly a unique dining experience. Every single bite was incredible.

    From start to finish this was amazing. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and went upstairs and had a custom drink made for my wife with health restrictions and they had extensive knowledge and so kind. The meal experience was like nothing I’ve experienced. Me and my wife loved every single plate and the chef was so informative and fun to talk to. I’ll be back as much as possible and I’m telling everyone about it. One of the best things in Philadelphia.

    We have been to quite a few omakases in Philadelphia and other cities and I can say Ogawa is my favorite. The quality of the fish is impeccable! Extremely fresh and delicious. But what added to the meal was the chef and the server. We had such a great time conversing and learning about the food and sake we were eating and drinking. We cannot wait to go back!

    This was our first Omakase experience and it wasn’t one to forget! A lovely, intimate setting made for great conversation and a level of comfort while trying something new. The food was more than outstanding! The care and detail, from the place settings to the timing of the courses and the pairing of flavors, was phenomenal. We will absolutely be back and hope that Ogawa gets the recognition it deserves!!

    Excellent selection of fine fish, expertly executed to the delight of my fellow diners by our personal chef Andy! The table service was spot on, pleasant, knowledgeable and attentive. We will be back, the fish was simply delicious and perfectly prepared. Best

    It just wasn't for me . I like sushi but I do not like fishy sushi. Saki was not good either. There was a few dishes that were great but not enough to want to come back. First time I ever went to a tasting and left hungry. I just couldn't eat at least 4 of the dishes. Too fishy. Went next door to fork afterwards and had some great escargot at the bar. For 200 plus that shouldn't have happened. Service was very good. Only 2 other people at the counter so pretty empty.
