The food and service at Off the Hook never disappoint. Our family always requests Frank as our server. He makes everyone feel welcomed and special.
Frank was our waiter. You could not ask for better service. Very knowledgeable and helpful with food and wine. Ask for him if you want your visit to be outstanding.
Great food and our waiter, Frank was outstanding.
Great service, great ambience. The waiter was spectacular
Service was excellent however, the food was very subpar for the price. My husnad and I ordered the stuffed salmon and seafood platter. Both of which did not deliver on flavor.
Our 2nd visit and so happy to return. The ambience is very nice and soothing. Server was wonderful and personable. Food was delicious and very substantial serving sizes 😋 I was surprised at the number of mussels in the appetizer. And the crab Mac and cheese left enough for 2 healthy servings for lunch the next day.
Enjoyed a lovely evening dining at off the hook. The service was phenomenal and the food was amazing.
My birthday party was amazing !! Thank you
I've been to this location three times the service was excellent! The filet was excellence I did not enjoy the risotto and unfortunately a huge bug crawled out from behind the booth where I was sitting. That put a damper on things. I prefer the Great Bridge location.
First time at OTH. We were very pleased with food and service. Crab stuffed shrimp and salmon were both excellent. Will return to this lovely restaurant.
We celebrated a birthday last night and family that works in the business for the holidays. Ms. Bonnie helped me with the reservation and was SO helpful and knowledgeable. Frankie was our sever, we’ve had him over the years as a server. ALWAYS the most friendly, kind and personable. We love the both. The food and ambiance was great. The service is AMAZING!
Thank you! Tomeka, Bruce & Family
Everything was great. Glad we had the opportunity to dine there for our 10th anniversary. Frank (our waiter) was a delight. He made our evening special. Thanks Frank!!!
I had been here many times for lunch and the shrimp tacos were very good. I wanted to try their steak. The sirloin I ordered was cooked perfectly and the mussel appetizer was extremely good.
Service and the food were excellent. The food tasted fresh and arrived hot to the table. Our server, Frank, was friendly, attentive and offered great menu suggestions. You should ask to sit at his table area. We’ll be back for more delicious food and terrific service.
Great food, beautiful atmosphere and excellent service!
We enjoyed our dinners & desserts. Our waitress was very attentive. Sangria is delish!!
Best crab dip in the 757!! The chips come out hot and fresh!!! Also the crabcake is filled with actual crab meat and not filler!! We were all very pleased with our meals. Arianna(not sure of the spelling) but she was a great waitress. All of the staff was friendly and upbeat. The oldest waiter not sure of his name but we was awesome as well.
All the food was good with the exception of the vegetables. The Calamari was incredible!
Had an enjoyable experience. Had some issues with our financial institution at the end of the meal and the staff were able to keep myself and my girlfriend calm and helped out in every way they could. I want to thank personally Marissa, Bonnie, and Paul for everything
The food is ok, but significantly over-priced. The location, service, patronage and decor leave a lot to be desired. Requires a credit card hold for reservations, which is strange because no one is knocking down the doors trying to get in; it was mostly empty while we dined there.
Service was impeccable. No fresh fish but the food was overall tasty
Great place for formal and informal gatherings. The staff are top notch and the food is excellent. The have a great wine selection and I'd give the cocktails a B+. This was out third dinner and we will be back!
The food and service were great!! Great price.
Excellent service, very impressed, even with short staff. Food was superb and we have no complaints whatsoever
First time there. Service from Thomas was excellent. Good choice options from menu. Prices reasonable. Nice ambience for lunch or dinner. Small enough for intimacy w/o ppl on top of you.
To start with the positive, the oyster rockefeller was fantastic! This was about the only positive experience we had there.
To start, there were only two other tables but took the waitress 10 minutes to greet us then another 10 minutes to get our drinks from the bar. The menu looks great but the waitress did share that their fish special for the evening was fried flounder or fried rockfish. Sounded good...I went for the fried rockfish thinking I would be receiving a filet with two sides (ordered broccolini and green beans). When my meal came out, I had a 24" full fish (head and everything) in front of me that looked like it was pulled out the bay and dropped straight into the fryer. It was full of bones, and I'm sorry but I think as the waitress, you should at least let your guest know what to expect because I am not a fan at all of receiving the whole fish that way. Next issue, my broccolini was ice cold and mushy. It seemed it had been sitting on the plate for a while because it created a pool of water, right under the fish, causing the fish to be completely soggy on one side of it. The soggy, fried fish was downright disgusting. I let the waitress know about the temperature of the broccolini and the soggy fish, and they did absolutely nothing about it. Instead, she brought me a giant aluminum container to take the fish home in which I let her know politely that I had no intentions. We asked for the check, and also, come to find out where the fried fish on the entrees is around $25-$30, they charged $36 for the rockfish.
Do not recommend wasting your time or money here.
Frank was a fabulous waiter, food was excellent. We’ll definitely be back!
Everything was awesome. Bonnie took care of us and made our very rare night out perfect. The food was fresh and cooked perfectly. They drinks were great. The ambiance was trendy, yet casual. I definitely recommend this place.
Great service, very friendly staff. Food was very good. Over all great experience.
We dined in Norfolk location last night with family. The food was outstanding and our server, Frank was very attentive and made our experience stand out.
The waiter was very attentive and the food was delicious and exceeded expectations. Can’t wait to eat the leftovers!
The food was excellent. We had a party of 4 with different dishes and everyone was impressed with their food. We enjoyed the professional setting and 1 of our guest has already scheduled her Girls Dinner there. It was a great time.
This was my second visit at the Norfolk location. We chose Norfolk because the Chesapeake location was superb! I requested Frank the waiter at the Norfolk location and just like the last time, he was excellent! He is VERY personable and understands good service. That said, the food was average for the price. The fingerling potatoes and the broccolini should be replaced. They are not good. I had the fried shrimp…they were just okay. The calamari was too chewy. We had a one year old child and they had no booster seat or high chair. It was a birthday celebration, but no complimentary dessert (it’s the little things that make a difference). But for Frank, the waiter, I must say we were a little disappointed with the food this time.
First time at this location. The battlefield location was great This Kylie avenue Norfolk location was even better. Frank is the best server in town food and atmosphere was amazing
Fantastic food. Atmospheric was great. Highly recommend it
The food was okay but there are better restaurants in the area for the value. Maybe it was an off night or I'm still comparing their seafood to Maryland restaurants.
We were a party of 7 and two of the guests were celebrating birthdays. I called ahead to see if they would do something special for them and they said they would. We arrived 20 minutes late due to the Uber delay and traffic. We were greeted by one of the waitstaff who said “I was just about to cancel your reservation”. Not hello or welcome. So now it is 7:50pm instead of 7:30. We sit down to a brightly lit room with other tables that were empty. I should include that when I placed the call earlier to the restaurant about the birthday, I asked if we could add three more people and they said no. So to see an available 4-top table beside our table made me think hmmmmm…..anyhow. We sat down and she immediately took our drink order. We get the drinks at about 8pm. We get appetizers and one salad, then she comes over shortly after with our main course. Now it’s about 8:45 and she said it was last call for drinks because they were closing at 9. So we all ordered another round, but as we started eating our food, they started mopping with strongly scented pine sol cleaner which utterly ruined the mediocre (at best) food. Our complimentary hush puppies were burnt. Our noses were now burning from the cleaner so I got up and said something. The rep,y was “I’m sorry, I will let the people above me know” rather than advising them to stop cleaning until we were done. Most of us couldn’t finish eating since it was so strong. After I complained two things happened. First, the gentleman cleaning proceeded to continue to clean the pole directly behind me which made the smell stronger and fresher than before. The second was that our server apologized to the table for the smell and said that they weren’t supposed to do that until guests had left. Now I’m really done with this place. We were never asked if we wanted dessert much less had them do anything special for the two birthdays at the table as requested. Stay away from this place. It is being run by scumbags.
The service was excellent and we were attended to well by the bartender!!
We went here for a special occasion. The food was absolutely wonderful and our server, Frank, was very helpful and absolutely delightful. Highly recommended.
Our server was amazing and she was so wonderful and polite
