Had high hopes for this place after a local recommended it and the reviews were so good, but the food was very underwhelming, particularly the pizza and cocktails. Ordered the ma
Was concerned about the food after reading some of the reviews. We found all of the dishes excellent and salted just right. The pizza crust was great, thin and tasty, as were the sauce and cheeses. Our pasta was wonderful as was the mixed green salad and polenta with Parmesan Reggiano. Friendly and attentive service even as the restaurant filled and got busy!
Oenotri is one of my favorite restaurants in the downtown core. Has consistent great food across the entire menu every time we have been which is about every other month. This time we ordered a basic butter parmesan pasta for my 2 year old daughter that we loved and should be a regular menu item (They made it off menu to take care of my daughter). We started with a little gem salad with tangerines and a pistachio dressing. I don't really know if this was great as my daughter stole all the tangerines so I didn't really get to see the full flavor profile here. Then we ordered the Pappardelle with mushrooms and a Pork Ragu. Every item was incredible and would totally have again, except the fact that I love ordering something different every time.
The setting is a great modern decor that is fun and energetic. The service was on point again. It's not the cheapest restaurant by any means, but it is one of the best reasonable restaurants in Napa with food equal to or better than some of the famous Michelin rated restaurants in the valley.
Enjoy as I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Fun Napa dining experience. Loud for conversation but overall nice. Food was amazing.
Was traveling in Napa for the weekend and made an effort to stop here after learning it’s on 2018 Top 100 of Bay Area. Best pizza crust I’ve ever had ... period. The pizza was outstanding compared even to what I’ve had in Italy. The pasta was not as memorable, but they take the pie for their pizza. Love.
Oenotri meets or exceeds my expectations each time I dine there. We were overwhelmed by the number of delicious choices on the menu and therefore, asked lots of questions. Our server Hillary was incredibly knowledgeable and had an explanation/answer for everything. She missed her calling as a writer because we got hungry just listening to her description of the food and wine choices. As expected, the food was perfectly prepared and delicious. Bravo. Can't wait to return to Oenotri.
the food was excellent. I felt the prices were a little high for what you got.
but we thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the ambiance and service was
In town for Jazz Festival, Oenotri was recommended for its fresh Italian fare. Didn’t disappoint, however dishes were bland in flavor. From the moment we walked in EVERYONE we encountered delivered 5-star service — starting with Jessica the hostess, the bartenders, and Damien our server who was extremely knowledgeable and helped us with our dinner selections like a boss!! Would dine at Oenotri again, just would be sure to ask for a flavor boost!!
Horrible service. Will never go there again. We were celebrating our anniversary and the waitress was extremely inattentive. A couple that go there 30 min after us left 45 min before us and had same server
This was our second time at Oenotri, and it was once again excellent! I had high expectations coming in, but when we were seated close to the bar and next to another group who was talking loudly, I got a little worried because I thought the noise would become a nuisance. All of that worry disappeared when the waiter came over and we started talking about the food. The waiter was charming and passionate, and his recommendations were spot-on. Everyone & everything else in the restaurant faded into the background as we became immersed in our own dining experience. All of our dishes were wonderful, but we highly recommend the Beef Carpaccio (light & refreshing, best we've ever had!) and the Bistecca Pizzaiola (intensely flavored and tender). We can't wait to go back, and only wish we didn't live an hour away!
Good food, excellent and attentive waiter. Our group had their pizza and also braised pork belly, and both were very good. A bit loud, but nothing too crazy.
Absolutely fantastic service, best salad I’ve ever had and super attentive server. Would recommend to anyone. Lived it!!
Stumbled across this restaurant and we were delightfully surprised. The service was exceptional and the food was perfection!
Have been here twice and had wonderful service both times; the menu rotates so can be difficult to find an entrée that fits your tastes. The atmosphere is great. Pizza is good and affordable. The lemon vinaigrette salad is great. Only other concern is a very pricey wine list. Jumps very quickly from by the glass to $90-100 per bottle and up.
Great restaurant with local ingredients! Server was super helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and was able to pair the right wine with our meal. A must to go to in Napa
Was a great find. Fantastic service. Fun menu. Pizza, polenta and charcuterie were all excellent. Clearly now on our Napa list
Service is always impeccable. Food is amazing. One of the best restaurants in Napa and Sonoma.
Service was very good, the somm excellent... our pizza delicious and arrived steaming fresh from the wood burning oven, but the pie took 30 min to make the table.
My only serious critical comment... we ordered different 3 pastas for the table to share. One was outstanding, the other good, but the 3rd, mussels with linguine, was thrown together terribly. Seems like they had run out of mussels, so without saying anything to our table, the kitchen threw in some clams. That would have been ok, but everything else in the presentation was off. The shellfish were overcooked, a massive clump of garlic was in the mix, there was next to no liquid, no sauce, the seasoning was off, and most certainly no acid. I love mussels, and our table was looking forward to the dish. Guess that's what we get for being a late reservation.
We were celebrating my fiancé’s birthday. Food was delicious but the kitchen was backed up so it took a while to get our food. They were busy and did the best they could. We love this place and will continue to come back.
Sadly, we were given a recommendation for the restaurant and advised to cancel our reservation with another local Napa restaurant. We did so, but...
The energy is great but the food is not on par. Ordered a salad which turned out to be a bed of greens, light vinaigrette, and an overwhelming mess of Parmesan cheese. Awful. The overall result was fatiguing with Parma taste. My husband’s pasta was very good. My own pasta dish was again over spiced. Was our least favorite restaurant in Napa Valley.
Always amazing the salami plate of housemaid cured meat is so good everything we ever have had here is always awesome and authentic
sORRY. BUT THEIR FOOD IS OVER SALTED. i HAD A BEET SALAD AND IT WAS LOADED WITH SALT.
THEY APOLOGIZED AND DID NOT CHARGE US. I HAD THE PORK RAGU PASTA WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN EXCELLENT HAD IT BEEN A LITTLE LESS SALTY.
THE MARSCAPONE PANNA COTTA WAS OUTSTANDING.
OUR SERVER AND THE BUSSERS WERE GREAT
THE HOSTESS IS RATHER RIGID AND NEEDS SOME HOSPITALITY TRAINING, DID NOT SEEM TOO ENJOY HER JOB.
This was an amazing find in Napa!! I had the ragu and my mom had the pesto pasta....absolutely delicious!!! I’ll be sure to visit every time I’m in Napa!
Great everything. We went for a quick Mother’s Day breakfast. Everything was absolutely fabulous.
Went for a birthday. Those handmade noodles are a dream.
We make the 50 min drive to go to Oenotri 3 or 4 times a year because we love the food. We always enjoy it--whether it's just for a pizza or for a full-on big meal for a special occasion. This time we were disappointed in the service--it's usually terrific but tonight, altho everyone was working full tilt and meant well, the timing was just way off. It took forever to get water on the table and even order drinks. Plates sat for way too long after we had finished eating. We probably would have ordered dessert but it just was taking forever and we had a serious drive back home (we were relaxed and having fun--not rushing--but still ... too long). The wait staff seemed distracted and unable to manage the flow. We understood that it was a busy Saturday night but it just seemed off compared to other times. The food was fantastic. We'll be back and hope they coordinate the bussing and table service a little better next time.
I loved this place. The atmosphere was casual but elegant. The service was perfect. The food was delicious. The pasta dishes we had were house made and the halibut that we ordered melted in your mouth. Must have ricotta panacotta for desert. Wonderful place to eat in downtown Napa.
Best pizza I've ever eaten. Such a good olive oily crust.
Lovely place with great good, especially the pizza. However it is extremely noisy!
We had absolutely super food and service - this restaurant is highly recommended. We will return next time in Napa.
Food was awesome-- too loud to have a conversation
The GIGLI WITH ARUGULA PESTO, GARLIC, MEYER LEMON, PINE NUTS AND PARMIGIANO-REGGIANO was extremely salty and was not tasty.
Based on 5 visits over two years, most recently on 5/8/2018: Exceptional interpretation of northern Italian food, deep Italian oriented wine list, enthusiastic table service and knowledgeable somms and sensitive wine service. On our last visit I brought a magnum of an older Barolo to the restuarant three hours before our reservation and when we arrived it had been perfectly handled and was ready for our first taste. I cannot imagine a better dining experience in the Napa Valley.
If I could eat here everyday, I would! Amazing food, service and ambiance. Thanks so much for always taking such great care of us.
We went to Oenotri with a large group (9 people). The pros: The food was all very good, our table was ready when we arrived and our server was very accommodating. He brought bread and oil to the table when asked, allowed the kids to share plates and was willing to split the check four ways. Decor was nice. The cons (for our group): The noise. This restaurant is very popular (the food is good and at a reasonable price point for the area) and was full during our visit. The modern decor features hard surfaces which do not absorb sound well. As a group of 9 we were seated at a long table in the main dining room. The noise was such that we were only able to converse with the people sitting directly beside us instead of with the whole party. There is some limited outside seating which may have been quieter but it was too cold for us to venture outside on the night in question. I would recommend this restaurant to people who can handle a lot of background noise and who are going on a date or with a smaller group. Based on the food and service I would go back again, but only as part of a small group or with outside seating as I like to be able to enjoy conversation with my dinner.
This is our 2nd visit but it has been a few years since we been there. The menu is ever changing as it is seasonal & fresh. Last visit we found the menu more limited for pickier eaters but this time found it more well-rounded. My husband had a spicy porchetta over pasta - the waitress was correct in warning him that it was spicy! He loved it though. I enjoyed the short rib with Farro, snow peas & fennel - wonderful flavors & delicious. We splurged on dessert & shared the chocolate gelato with a shot of amaretto (what?!) and ricotta lemon "doughnuts" that were more like beignets & were yummy! We'll definitely be back.
The food was excellent, as always, and the wait staff was attentive and friendly, but the noise level made conversation a little challenging.
Amazing! The best homemade pasta and the pizza was incredible.
The fried cavolo nero is so good, it's hard to share. I'll need my own order next time. Pasta dishes have never failed me. Gigli with pesto has perfectly toasted pine nuts. Oenotri is a must-have every time I'm in Napa.
Nice food but louder than we had anticipated.
