Odyssey Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar
Had heard from three separate people (from 3 different friend groups) that restaurant was great so we thought we’d try it out. Love the ambiance, servers are all friendly, food was great!
Our first time and we loved the restaurant. Just as numerous reviews commented on the friendly, welcoming staff we now know why! They were each amazing in their welcoming spirit and efforts for us to have a wonderful time! The lobster ravioli was gorgeous, light and the sauce was delicious. Wine was excellent and it was overall a great dining experience! Will definitely go back.
Service was great. Bread is addicting so good! Portions are huge . Will definitely be coming back! Yum
2nd visit and this is hands down my new favorite Italian restaurant in Denver. Full of authentic Italian character and homey charm. Tour the whole place. Try everything on the menu- haven’t been steered wrong yet and have sampled many dishes in 2 visits with a large group sharing. Wonderful attentive service by Italian waiters, strolling violinist, great place for a romantic dinner, large gathering of friends or family night out. Cannot recommend highly enough- classic- I LOVE this place- cannot go wrong and I can’t wait to go back!
Great Italian restaurant decor, wonderful service, plenty of food variety offered on the menu. Noise level is a bit high at times. Five of us dined the evening we were there, and everyone enjoyed our selections. Desserts at the end were very delicious.
Delicious and authentic Italian cuisine.
My impression is that with such an extensive menu it’s difficult to prepare that many options and produce quality dishes. The food and sauces were bland and did not compliment the pasta. Appetizers were also disappointing. Service was great.
The food and service were great! Maybe the best calamari ever - simple and very tender with a slight crust (none of that calamari-mixed-with-vegetables that others seem to think necessary now). A wide variety on the menu. Our pasta dishes were delicious with large enough portions but not overwhelming amounts. The converted house setting and mixed decor make it cozy. We'll be back soon!
The food was good, the service was EXCELLENT, and the whole evening was lovely at Odyssey.
Great restaurant, love the food, great ambiance in general. Only drawback was there were little kids there, right next to our table. Seems odd to bring kids to an expensive place. We paid a lot for our meal and would have appreciated a ‘no kids allowed’ atmosphere for our anniversary dinner. Overall, a fantastic place, would highly recommend to others. This is our go to anniversary date night restaurant.
Great good and fabulous service. We were seated in one of the rooms upstairs. Very cool place I highly recommend it
Always our favorite Italian spot! They never disappoint!
Fantastic meal and experience. The food was outstanding! The chef owner is very involved. I loved seeing him teach his son on the art of service! TOP NOTCH!!
I would like to preface everything by saying our waitress, Leah, made up for the poor service we received from one of the hostesses early in the evening. She was AMAZING and we were lucky to have her serve us through the evening once we were finally sat. The food is always wonderful but unfortunately two days later i'm still thinking about the poor treatment we received after spending $400.00 on our meal and tip. I do recommend Odyssey, but to not even be offered a glass of wine or something in return for the hour delayed reservation was a shocker from such a wonderful place.
The first hostess we spoke to was great, but the second should not work in restaurant service. We had a reservation at 7:15pm and were not seated until 8:15pm. I was told that they overbooked reservations, however, I made my reservation a week prior to dining in. I think that is inexcusable. We were told we'd be seated 20 minutes after our reservation and it kept getting pushed back. When we went in to speak to the hostess 45 minutes after waiting, she was very rude and advised that "she doesn't control the reservations" and we'd be seated when our table was ready. WHAT?! I was dumbfounded but remained patient. We watched multiple people who arrived after us be sat... Never offered anything while we waited. Finally an hour after our reservation we were seated. The hostess walked far ahead of us and she didn't say ONE word as she walked us upstairs. It would have been fine, but there was no apology or remorse whatsoever... We felt like we were inconveniencing her and it was an awful feeling! Before she left she said: "The wait is worth the wonderful meal you are about to have." No sorry!? I brought my parents & in-laws in for the first time after raving about this place and the first impression they received from the hostess was embarrassing. Thankfully Leah turned our experience around. I thought the poor hostess service needed to be noted as it was very out of character for this restaurant.
It was a fun, great evening. It was a long wait even though we had reservations. The noise level was very, very high. But all in all it is a great place to visit
One of the best restaurants in Denver, service and food was top shelf. Dined in the violin room upstairs which is not as loud as down stairs. Leah served us and is jewel ask for her by name. We will return soon.
I just love this place. The staff is super attentive and friendly and the food is great. Don’t miss the lobster stuffed mushrooms!
I must say first time doing a review and totally worth it! I made a reservation at this restaurant for my boyfriends Bday and if they did anything special would be amazing.. we were onetime from the Host, the ambience and taking us to the top level to have a nice more intimate dinner it was Absolutely amazing! They even did little cute things like put a rose on the table overall my experience was more than I can ask for and I Just want to thank you for it!
First time here and all four of us raved about our meals. Be warned, portions are huge. Particularly liked the inclusion of vegetables with the main courses (most of them). Server was so nice and professional and helpful. The heat in the building was too much and will never understand why the fireplace on first floor had a fire in it — too warm! Also, better ventilation of food odors would be helpful. Overall, loved it and can’t wait to return...
Even with a reservation we had to wait over an hour and a half to be seated. It seemed chaotic. And the food was average at best.
Absolutely delicious! By far my favorite Italian restaurant in Colorado!
This was a first time visit and I was totally impressed, 5 stars in every regard, I will definitely go as there were so many items on the menu that sounded so good it was hard to choose just one. I had the Osso Boco and it was outstanding.
Hard core foodies- probably won’t appreciate Odyssey- but lovers of authentic, well executed classic Italian will recognize the glory of this place. Having learned Italian in New York neighborhood restaurants- this cozy, attentive and classic experience will warm the Heart. I love it.
Cold dreary evening? Stop in for some love.
Loved the feel of the place, the wine and the waiter, Javi! The shrimp cocktail was also wonderful as was the bread. The Cesar salad was just a tad dry but still great and reasonable, $5. We were disappointed in the meats of our main courses. My wife had Osso Buco, one of her favorite dishes but found it had very little flavor. The veal dish I had, located right under the Osso Buco on the menu was dry and tough and only warm. I shouldn’t have ordered it because I think rolled dish’s are often that way.. The mains came out quickly so I’m pretty sure the rolled dish had been prepared earlier. The accompanying root veggies were great, maybe the best we have ever had!
So, while it was disappointing that these “Signature” dishes from family recipes didn’t please, we will return because everything indicated it should be a truly great restaurant!
This little gem never disappoints! Amazing staff and food! Authentic Italian food and great wines.
Extensive menu. The food is excellent and nicely plated. Service was very good. This Italian restaurant is one of Denver's best.
A lot of character and good food in this small, elegant bistro restaurant
Such a great place for a date night. If you make reservations you will be put in a more private room away from the noise with dim lighting and a romantic atmosphere. Our server was great, super attentive, and made plenty of suggestions. The food was awesome and tasted like a home cooked meal. It. Was a little more on the expensive side, but definitely worth it.
Great ambiance, delicious entrees, and our waiter Mario was excellent.
Small venue so busy but food and service was excellent!!!
The atmosphere is perfect the food is out of this world and the service is fantastic. My favorite place in Colorado
This was a great all around experience, the food was delicious and authentic and the service was great.
Loved this restaurant! The ambiance was delightful, just what an Italian restaurant should look like. Our waiter was knowledgeable and obviously loved working there too. My only compliant is that the food came warm not hot. I will try it again.
Had a reservation, but they tried to seat us outside on cool evening. They ended up seating us inside in the bar area, but the door to outside was ooened so often that we needed to eat with our coats on. Waiter was good, but the restaurant could not split the bill and we spent a lot if time waiting around for them to figure it out. Noise level and ambiance in the bar area made the experience wanting on every level. I would never go back.
This was my second time at Odyssey. M y friend and I love this restaurant---such a gem in Capitol Hill! Excellent food, warm and friendly staff---all of them. I highly recommend
A very authentic feel in this converted house, the restaurant is filled with that quintessential Italian vibe... right down to the “wise guy” posters! However, the food impressed the most! The osso bucco was incredible. Our waiter was extremely attentive AND Chef Ignacio even came out and chatted topping it off with complimentary after dinner drinks! Viva Italia!!!!
From start to finish w felt like their most important customer ever to arrive. We felt welcomed the moment we walked into the door and had fun professional service
We enjoyed the dining and experience. waiter mixed up the entree orders, but we were to realize shortly thereafter and my date and i exchanged plates. Will probably return in the future.
