Odyssey Ratings and Reviews
From the moment of walking in to the Host stand, the service was an issue. Took someone quite a while to even greet us. Finally sat and the server just happened to wander by 5 minutes later. Took our drink order never saw him again. Name is Colton. Then, server named Kelsey happened to walk by about 15 minutes after and randomly ask us for our order. Bread basket came out maybe 30 seconds before the actual food. I ordered the odyssey burger which was one of the best I’ve ever had. My partner had the filet mignon medium rare and it came out well done. We asked to refill the bread and pesto basket a total of 5 times before it finally came or AFTER we paid for it. We won’t be back. Cool for the “experience” if you must. The view was pretty good but mainly just the highway can be seen at night. Unfortunate!
We booked this restaurant for this our wedding anniversary. It was kind of frustrating experience. When we checked in they asked us if we would be willing to wait 10-15 for a window seat. We said yes. But after 25 minutes we had to go back to the desk and find out what was going on and my husband was told that they thought that they had already seated us. That was annoying. We heard another couple complaining about the service while we were waiting for our table. Although our meal was very good. We weren't so happy about the way we were treated at the beginning. Our server was nice, but difficult to understand because of a strong accent. He was a little bit pushy, but eased up as the evening went on. The restaurant didn't acknowledge our anniversary at all which was disappointing. The view was nice, the food was delicious, but the service wasn't that great Not sure we would return.
The best view of the valley from practically every table. Celebrated an anniversary and had a wonderful time. We arrived early and had a drink in the bar. Entire staff here is friendly and attentive. Host came to the bar promptly at 7 to show us to our table and even arranged for the bar tab to be added to dinner for us.
I thought this was not my first time visiting the Odyssey but I went on a date and the service was great the food was wonderful we enjoyed ourselves with you was nice and quiet that's all the food came out on time and fresh the wine was great I recommend this restaurant to anyone that is looking to enjoy a night out on a date or just a regular dinner date I look forward to attending the Odyssey Restaurant again and the springs they have excellent service and the staff is wonderful and very helpful and knowledgeable
Beautiful place, and We expected the high prices for the fancy menu and gorgeous ambience... but I would expect if im sat on the patio, that when i request a heat lamp before my drink is served, that that person have a heat lamp for me quickly thereafter. I was freezing while trying to enjoy my drink, appetizers AND main dish. The server kept saying he had to check something about a gas tank but im NOT exaggerating when I say i asked for our check AS they were lighting the hear lamp. I was done with my meal. We had been there for an hour and fifteen minutes. A nice manager came over to check on us and if she hadn’t, we wouldnt have gotten silverware OR had our refills much less have them light the heat lamps as we were leaving. If were willing to pay the price for really good food at a nice place, the whole package has to be there.
Have come here many times. Never a complaint, but New years Eve was a bust. My family and I did the Pre-set menu. Meat dry flavorless. Fish over cooked. 2 entrees came out 15 minutes before the other two. Poor timing by the head chef. Both desserts offered were chocolate based and we felt limited. I myself prefer something light. The waiter,Jesus, was great! He is our favorite and is always attentive, knowledgeable, and courteous. He was all over the place tracking down our entrees for us, and he did. He held us together. Unfortunately the evening was not salvaged. Will we return. YES. I know that this place will recover from this faux pau. I am pleased that you have allowed me to vent. See you again and expecting great things.
I have come here many, many times over the years. 20x + First time for New Years Eve Brunch. What a hodge podge of insignificant food. Too much. Lessen the choices and focus on the quality of the dish. Eggs Benedict and many others were no better than a cafeteria. The layout was akward and didn't flow. Cheap champagne for Mimosas, refilled once. Not worth the $50 per head for brunch, by far. Employees also are not top notch. Some clearly did not want to be there. Some rude and not engaging.. obviously bothered when asked questions why there were no coffee cups available next to the coffee maker in dessert room, young woman was rude. Server was like a robot and more concerned with their Yelp rating and him getting more shifts. Restaurant overall needs a serious facelift. Looks like they're barely making it, sadly. :( So much potential here as a valley icon, poor management.
My friends and I got together for Christmas dinner at the Odyssey. As I expected the restaurant was very busy and a large crowd was waiting in the lobby area. Since we had reservations, we were seated within two minutes of our arrival. The restaurant was making use of every available space and we were seated in a banquet area. It was brightly lighted and there wasn’t much in the way of atmosphere. Lots of loud chatter and kids running around, but, hey, it was Christmas! Our server was very responsive and friendly. As I expected food was good, with a plentiful variety of choices, and nicely prepared. The dessert selections appeared to fill half of a small banquet room. Okay, this wasn’t five star dining, but I hadn’t expected it to be. I’ve eaten at the Odyssey on a number of occasions and will be back. If you can secure a table near the windows overlooking the SFV and it’s a clear night, you’re in for a treat.
We went here for their Christmas Dinner. It was a hit with both the husband and my son, who is 7 years old. He loved the chocolate fountain and donut bar. The crab legs were super fresh, and prime rib nicely seasoned. We would definitely return for a special occasion!
I have been frequenting the Odyssey for many years. I have always been and continue to be very satisfied. There was just one glitch for Christmas dinner. I was under the impression that the price for brunch was $50. I was a little surprised when I received our bill to find it was $58 each.
We attended the Christmas Day buffet. Our reservation was for 4:15pm. We were taken to a nice table on time. But that is where the magic ended. NO prime rib was available for over an hour and when it was, it was RAW. Not rare. RAW and translucent. I asked to speak to a manager. It took over 30 min for her to arrive at the table. In the mean time, our server disappeared after getting our first round of drinks. We had no refills and no food, basically. For some reason my chair was soaked and I was wet from sitting in it. All seats filled so I could no easily switch the chair out.
I will say that when the manager did arrive, she quickly took care of the situation but adjusting the bill and making sure we had refills but it was too late for her to do anything about the lack of cooked meat. We were very disappointed. It was Christmas after all and it was just a mess. Not enjoyable at all.
We attended the buffet on Christmas last year and did not have this exact issue but it's really gone downhill and the price continues to rise.
I suggest this restaurant for their Twilight dinners but not the buffet. Too crazy. Too many people. Food is hit or miss.
I had not been here for 15+ years, didn't like it then, don't like it now. Everything I ate, all I tasted was salt. TOO much salt. Crab legs were too soft making it hard to crack. Everything was cold! We were told by our waiter that the room by the lobby was deserts ONLY. When we went to get dessert, to our surprise, we found waffles, burritos, tater tots, etc. which was much more kid friendly as we had 2 kids with us. Needless to say, we were a little upset. On a good note, the waiter was very nice, responded to our requests right away. Other than mis-information, there are NO complaints about our waiter. For the price, the quality of the food is lousy!!!!!!
We will NOT be back
Really enjoyed our visit to this restaurant on Christmas Day. The food was absolutely spectacular! Beautifully prepared and with excellent variety. I was especially astounded by the live food stations (including a bananas foster station and a chocolate fountain). There was really something for everyone including some very innovative food preparation and display that one would not ordinarily find at a buffet (e.g., beautiful shellfish/crab legs display, watermelon juice and horchata display, etc.). Yhe views were breathtakingly beautiful. The live music and Santa visit we’re both a very nice touch and gave a truly festive and holiday feeling. We had a very sweet and accommodating server who did all that she could to make our visit a very pleasant one. The only thing that I was not particularly impressed with was the quality of the hostess who seated us. Although we were seated relatively promptly she was unresponsive to our requests to be seated in a more central area after she attempted to seat us at the far edge of the main dining room(my mother is disabled and has mobility problems). When we asked if we might be seated at a nearby booth she said ‘we really don’t want anyone sitting there as the table is broken’. Five minutes later another family was sitting there (hmmm). Anyhow, I luckily eyed some recently cleared tables in a better spot and another front desk hostess readily accommodated our request to be moved. With the exception of that incident the service was cordial and professional. Loved it - hope to make the Christmas Day meal a holiday tradition for years to come!!
I was totally disappointed with the freshness of the food. We made reservations and we still had to wait over 40 minutes before being seated. The breakfast foods were cold and the potatoes were hard from being over heated. Too noisy, waiter tried but I feel he was overwhelmed. There should have been a better set up for the flow of people going around to get their food. I would never take my family there again for brunch. I didn’t mind the price when
I made reservations, highly disappointied. The odyssey did not stand up to my expectations.
We were at the Odyssey for both Thanksgiving and Christmas brunches. Food selections were incredible, service was prompt and servers attended to any requests with graciousness and speed. The buffet tables were well laid out and décor was beautiful. We shall dine again at this restaurant and not necessarily for only special occasions..
Christmas Day buffet. If you tip 15% (cause it’s a buffet), it’s $72 pp all in. Value wise, you never eat $72 worth of food, so you have to just accept that. Buffet had lots of options and some were good. Some missed the mark completely. Rack of lamb over cooked and couldn’t find a chop that wasn’t dry. Lobster Mac n cheese also dried out. Crab legs what you expect (average) but no little forks (or not enough to provide diners). Was pain in butt to eat without proper tools. But delicious waffles so light and crisp, Vegetables and salad bar great. Omelette station and juicy prime rib were a plus. Beautifully displayed especially the donuts area and the chocolate fountain. Carolers going table to table, Santa giving out candy canes to kids and a cookie decorating station made it a nice experience overall. Better than fair. Good. Not 4-5 stars. Worth going as a nice holiday experience. That’s what you paying for as well, and we would go back again knowing that.
My coworkers and I made reservations for our company Christmas lunch. We thought the buffet style would be best being we only had two hours for lunch. Some food was great but some other food was a bit cold or the trays where empty and had to return in one or two occasions to see if certain food was available, like the fish, the cutting station or the pasta station and the salad station. overall the experience was good specially the area where they sat us we liked very much because it was away from the noise. Our waitress was very attentive, and polite and upbeat.
I went the week of Christmas and it was crazy crowded! The only option was the buffet which I didn’t know was going to be our only choice. I took a group for a business meal and would have liked to have been notified when I made the reservation that the buffet was the only option. Aside from that surprise, the food was actually very delicious.
