Our second time here, this time we brought some extended family.
This one was a busier Sunday brunch. Tried at first to reserve over the phone twice with no answer or returned confirmation, but Open Table worked super well and they were ready for us.
Service has been great both times—very friendly, accommodating, informative, and prompt considering how busy they were.
The food has been great too. We’ve had their breakfast plate, fried chicken sandwich, and Eggs Benedict, and I’d recommend any of them. Portion sizes were about right, I thought. My wife had some sort of floral iced tea that sounded better on paper but was inoffensive. Coffee was good—the carafe was Phil & Sebastian-branded, so I’m assuming that’s what it was. They fooled me if it wasn’t.
Super happy to have this place in our neighbourhood and definitely appreciate the fact that they have high chairs. Hope it does well. We’ll definitely be back.
Great food. Interesting recipes! Good service. I love the fact that so much is made in house. It is home grown Saskatchewan food. Only criticism is their 5 oz. glass of wine rather than industry standard 6 oz. glass.
Great new restaurant with seasonal and local menu - delicious.
Very comfortable new spot with great ambiance and attentive service. I really wanted the food to be great but unfortunately it was pretty mediocre. My cocktail (which I asked in advance if it was sweet or tart) was over-sweet and generally uninteresting, the fritters were underwhelming and the fried chicken and pickled slaw were really not good. This happens often with new restaurants so I will give it a try again in a few months to see if things have improved.
We had a wonderful experience at Odla. I would highly recommend it.
Wonderful food - flavourful, great portion size, and feels like a homemade meal yet clearly elevated. The space looks great, they put a lot of work into it! Wish the lighting was warmer (daylight temperature bulbs are very blue which lent to a slightly cold atmosphere), but the service and company was warm and friendly. Had the chicken and it was amazing - the coleslaw was the best slaw I’ve ever had - fresh and perfect amount of spicy. We also had the meatball appetizer which was amazing, the red cabbage with the meatballs was our favourite part. Love what they’re doing here with local sustainable farming practices!
Really fun well designed space. Terrific local food with an amazing wine list!
The lunch meal was outstanding. Every item on the eggs benny was well seasoned and full of flavour. The rhubarb cocktail was delicious. Service was attentive and friendly. Space is a bit tight and that contributed to a slightly higher noise level. A bit difficult to have a private conversation. I would highly recommend this restaraunt. Cannot wait to return and experience the supper menu.
Excellent food and service.... as usual!
The pork pate is hands down the best thing on their menu.
Service was pretty lack lustre, and very slow.
Restaurant started off being a comfortable noise level, but towards the end of the meal got too loud to hear across the table.
Steak was perfectly cooked and delicious, while the beet entree would have been best done as a shared appetizer as it was not as satisfying as the description on the menu made me believe.
Also, highly recommend the oh, snap! it's fantastic!
I love the atmosphere of this restaurant. The food was delicious and the drinks were made perfectly! I will definitely be going back again...i need to try the crispy chicken!
We both had the steak and agreed it was delicious. There was a discrepancy between some of the dishes on the physical menu versus the online menu, but we were still very impressed. We love the concept of farm to table and, judging from the crowd in the restaurant, so does everybody else. The ambience was great. The food was good. The service was excellent.
Beautiful food! Great service. Ambience very nice. Tables a little close together on upper level. Cocktails amazing!!
The best new addition to Saskatoon's food scene! Great for lunch and dinner, I can't rave enough about this restaurant. Food is delicious and service is great. Can't wait for the store to open with fresh local produce and products.
We loved the decor. Our drinks and appetizers were good. We felt the steak and trout was a little undercooked.
Spend my anniversary dinner here, and wow am I every impressed. The food was amazing and I highly recommend.
When you’re stuck beside the bus station for lunch at a brand new restaurant you think “wow, this place must be booked up.” At Odla, it just means “we’re too lazy to seat you somewhere better” because sure enough, the restaurant never picked up. Between the lukewarm coffee, being QC’d before receiving any food and the waitress eavesdropping on my wife’s phone, I’m confident we won’t be back. The fries were fantastic, but the fried chicken was stringy and the burger was average.
Very poor, slow service. The waitress was friendly, but not personable. The atmosphere was nice, but slightly loud. Our food was very good, but not absolutely outstanding.
We were looking for an outstanding meal and we certainly didn't get it.
We had the fried chicken. It is incredible! And a generous serving. What a lovely place. Excited to go back to try more dishes.
Overall good food but my lamb shoulder was undercooked and very chewy. Otherwise everything was excellent foodwise. Excellent decor and ambiance except the acoustics. Could not hear ourselves or our waitress and even she could not hear us. They need to fix the echoing of voices in this place as it ruins the ambiance. Overall and good experience but I would hesitate to go back if it is a full house due to the noise.
The food was super delicious, however the a couple of the appetizers were pretty disappointing.
Pork Pate (10/10 on taste and value)
Smoked Steelhead Trout (2/10 - generally the plate of food tasted fantastic, but only had 2 VERY thinly sliced pieces of trout, which really didn't work as there was a bunch of us trying to share the appetizer)
Chickpea & carrot fritters (10/10 on taste and value)
Lamb Meatballs (10/10 on taste and value)
Feature appetizer - pork belly and brussel sprouts (3/10 - the brussel sprouts were SO good. But when hearing you're going to get a pork belly appetizer, and then only getting 3 paper thin slices of pork, really lets a person down. This should have been called limp pork over the most delicious brussel sprouts you'll ever eat)
For the mains, we all got either the trout or the fried chicken, both of which were fantastic.
The noise level was pretty loud, to the point that we couldn't hold a conversation across the table.
Our server was fantastic, and kept the whole evening flowing pretty well.
Delightful, subtle yet rewarding flavours all around. The chef clearly has focused on bringing out the natural flavours of the excellent cuts of meat, avoiding excessively salty and intensively flavoured sauces. Emphasis on subtle flavour was consistent from the cocktail (snap-pea flavoured) to dessert (rosemary-infused cream). The overall experience was refreshing and Odla is a great complementary addition to Saskatoon’s dining scene. One opportunity for improvement would be to ditch the background music... the dining room is quite acoustically live - the hum of conversation is sufficient alone.
Great food, could use a couple more menu options and an espresso machine.
Unique and fabulous
Beautiful restaurant! Clean and bright. Love the decor. Food is delicious and the staff is great!
Came here with a friend but left after one drink due to the insane noise level! We couldn't hear each other talk and constantly had to lean over the table just to hear (neither of us are quiet people, it was that loud in there). It was loud to the point that I felt relieved to exit the building.
Can't comment on the food.
Drink menu was wine focused, not many special cocktails.
Space was bright, clean, tidy. Bathrooms were beautiful.
Server was awesome!
Loved the restaurant! Loved the ambiance and the fact that it is locally sourced ingredients . Will definitely go back again and have recommended it to several people already.
Love the concept: local ingredients, haute cuisine, but unfortunately the meals (smoked lamb and beef pasta) were so-so in flavour. Portion size was out of control; we went out to get ice cream after eating a three meal course. The (vegan) carrot cake was extremely lacklustre.
Server was attentive and informative. The atmosphere was decent; lots of natural light, but tables were awkwardly close together and the noise level got consistently louder as the night progressed. Cocktails were great, but a little overpriced (and taxes are excluded on the menu). Overall, an underwhelming experience at a premium price tag.
Went to Odla for a quick brunch on a Saturday. The service was prompt and the food was all excellent.
I had the Mushroom Toast with Braised Lamb and my friend had the Eggs Benedict with Smoked Trout.
10/10, will return.
Excellent new restaurant on Broadway! The chef is very creative.
Restaurant was busy. Our meal took a rather long time to arrive. Waiter was good at keeping us informed and did the right thing in giving us complimentary desserts.
Excellent food! Great service
Food was disappointingly bland. Noodles were overcooked. Squash dish had no flavour.
Food and drink were amazing!
We came for my hubbys birthday and we were not disappointed! Amazing food, amazing service.
Went on the second opening night and everything was already operating very smoothly! Looking forward to coming back.
