Outstanding Mediterranean food and inventive, delicious cocktails. Highly recommended for a nice yet affordable night out.
Hello Joseph, thank you so much for such a wonderful feedback. We are so excited you enjoyed your time at Oda:) Thank you for your support!
Everyone at Oda was amazing and they made my best friends birthday so special and brought out the birthday dessert. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SERVICE DURING THIS PANDEMIC.
We went for Sunday brunch and had the Adjaruli khachapuri (cheese boat), Soslu patlican and the panburger. Outstanding food and outstanding service. A unique dining experience.
Thank you Ted for such a great feedback and for your support! We are so happy you enjoyed Oda. Hope to see you soon again
Delicious pita, spreads, Turkish tea, and shrimp! Enjoyed the traditional spreads (baba ganoush, hummus, etc) as well as several new spreads I tried for the first time. The coffee was extremely strong, but the tea was delicious. Highly recommend if you like med. food!
Everything was so tasty, the portions were plentiful and the service attentive even though we were sitting outside on the sidewalk. We appreciated the ability to eat outside even on a chilly night. The restaurant itself is beautiful inside and we look forward to eating inside on a return trip in safer times. Hopefully, the outside seating will be available until then because we hope to return soon!
Food was great. Their eggplant appetizers are a must. We also had beef stroganoff, which was expertly prepared and served with rice rather than noodles. The decor is decadent, with romantic lighting. Our only quibble was with the prices, which seemed to have gone up quite a bit with the menu change.
I went for your FABULOUS Iskender kebap...but they were no longer available. Also the bread was not the bread that used to be served. It was pita, but they weren't too bad.
Through its many incarnations & locations, Oda has remained a favorite if for no other reason than that it has the best eggplant dish in Chicago. Whatever you eat at Oda, get the mini eggplant roulades. They are bursting with flavor & show the reason that Georgian cuisine is so prized by those who know food. Even better they are vegan so all can enjoy. Oda also has the best ezme in the city, spicy & full-flavored but not sweet. Their falafel, hummus, babaganoush & dolma are all quite delicious & above the standard versions you will find elsewhere. Also delicious are the sigara boregi pastries & the pide, warm stuffed breads are out of this world but then so is the Imeruli Khachapuri, an excellent stuffed Georgian bread. All are improved by lovely Georgian wines. The new heaters at the outside tables mean we can patronize this place for as long as the weather allows so let's keep this beacon of Georgian food that soothes the soul busy in this pandemic.
The waiter was new and took no initiative to get answers to questions he didn’t know the answer to.
He started by telling us to expect slow service as they were really busy.
He didn’t know the menu and couldn’t pronounce most of it.
Food is excellent. Service is spot-on. A hidden treasure in Andersonville. (And try the Georgian wines!)
Great food! We ordered the adana kebab, soup, and combo appetizers (mezze plate). All delicious. There's not a lot of space for outdoor dining, but they do a good job with what they've got.
The food is out of this world. Highly recommend!
Enjoyed the pandemic outside dining! Our server/waitress was outstanding. She was very friendly and nice! The food was very good.
This place was a hidden gem! Outstanding food... The stuffed peppers were one of the best meals I’ve had in my life anywhere on Earth.
Food was delicious. Our waitress was super fun and friendly. I will totally be returning! Love that they also have vegan friendly foods!
We're so glad we decided to try Oda. The food was really great and a welcome change from the "usual" served in Andersonville. Wonderful flavor blends, nicely presented. We starts by sharing a main dish as an appetizer, the grilled octopus. It was really nice and the "pickled sauce" accompanying it was spot on. My husband had the Beef Stroganoff, which is prepared with rice and the flavors were deep and outstanding. I had the lamb/beef, and although I'm not generally a lamb fan, this was very tasty. Now... the hummus. Oh, damn. Honestly the best I've ever had; like velvet with huge flavor. The young lady serving us made great recommendations, was quick and funny, and gracious. Highly recommended and we will be back.
Good food - we had adana Kebob & octopus. Took a while but they comped a glass of wine for our wait. Sat outside @ sidewalk table so don’t really know what the ambiance is like inside. Would go again & try more dishes next time.
First time here, and we were very impressed! Nice outside seating along Clark Street, great food and an interesting selection of wines from all over. Also, our server was very friendly and helpful, really overall an excellent experience. We’ve recommended the restaurant to several friends already and will DEFINITELY be back!
Our server was fantastic and made us feel so welcome. She offered great recommendations and we ordered the right amount of food. Outdoor dining was socially distanced and done well.
Hands down, the charred Spanish octopus is one of the best octopus dishes that we've ever had. The beef stroganoff was also creamy, tender and savory. The shortribs were delicious, but they could have been braised a little longer.
very kind restaurant was comfortable & atmosphere was authentic
Awesome food and space. Wait staff was attentive. We sat outside and had a lovely evening.
Food was wonderful and the service was great! Ambience and noise didn't get a 5 only because we sat outside at street level. We have not dined inside, but it looks very quaint. We will definitively revisit this restaurant.
I’m soley basing my rating on our personal experience. We had a reservation last Sunday evening during covid. Maybe they were just short staffed that night but everything took a very long time. Food tasted good but the kicker is when they brought our adon kabob (which comes with 2 pieces), the second one had a chunk of meat missing. It was so obvious that my fiancée noted it WHILE being served. The waitress then walked away, so assuming she went to tell the chef, we weren’t trying to wave her down after some time passed and we heard nothing back.
So after a short while it appeared as she had no intent of discussing it with the chef or the management. We then, brought it up to her again saying she can take that piece back to the kitchen, show it to the chef and replace it with a full piece but what was more disturbing about the whole situation was her response saying “I can take couple of bucks off”. We’re not trying to save money, we just wanted a full portion of what we ordered, what is couple of bucks going to do? Taking $3 off the bill was rather disrespectful. We understand things happen and we just wanted it corrected, it’s like my fiancée explained: you order the porterhouse and the steak comes out with the filet side missing..
Either way, when waitress’ response to the issue was I’ll take couple of dollars off, we realized we’re not gonna get anywhere where they’re not grasping what management should’ve handled and my fiancée per paying did mention that, she said it would’ve taken half an hour to replace the kabob had she try to reorder it for us. Basically saying to correct the meal, we would’ve been at the end of the line as we just sat down. I can’t determine if it was lack of employees, lack of management or just one waitress trying to make all the operative decisions but it sure wasn’t the professional dinning experience. She should’ve gone to the chef, or the manager should’ve came to our table. With or without our proposal.
Food was not at all fresh, bread was having some weird smell n taste. Very expensive for the quality of food, i love Mediterranean food but this was not even close to the best as they claim in their website. Very disappointed , spent same amount when i dined at Beatnik or Meze as well as Aba , but their food was top notch.
This is an amazing restaurant!! Food quality, good prices and the staff is lovely! 100% recommended. I went yesterday for my boyfriend’s birthday and we had a great time, he loved it! Thank you Oda!! Totally recommend the cheese boat
Excellent food, drinks and service! I’d highly recommend for everyday dining and special occasions.
Food was absolutely delicious, definitely will be back.
While the food was serviceable the wait staff was very slow. It took 45 minutes for our appetizer to come out. Not sure if this was related to the slow reopening amid COVID-19 or if that is consistent with their standard of service. The food was good but prices were high. Would not recommend as a first stop in Andersonville.
Wonderful, and interesting, food! A great mix of Turkish and Georgian cuisines, in a lovely setting.
Many unique and delicious menu items at this neighborhood gem in Andersonville.
Love, love, love this place. Never disappoints. Can’t wait to come back!
Oda is consistently very good. It’s the
whole package. We were turned to it by close friends and we’ve been referring people to it ever since.
They were understaffed, and it took 3 hours to get our drinks and food. There was seriously only one waitress trying to take care of numerous tables! Although the food was amazing, I won’t return until they have more staff!
Delicious food, friendly staff, relaxing ambience! Definitely check them out!!
We had the lamb moussaka and sultans delight which were terrific ! The ambience is top notch - comfortable and cozy and yet elegant and unpretentious. The waitstaff and owner are delightful. Now they serve beer, wine and cocktails !
Every single thing we ordered was more delicious than the fish before it! So much flavor in every single bite!
Our favorites were the Babaganoush (served with bread for dipping,) Dolmas and Combo Kabob (the lamb on the kabob was some of the best lamb I’ve ever had!)
Oda is the perfect place for a date night or a fun dinner out with friends!
Great food. Service a bit slow but very knowledgeable. May have been slow due to items ordered took longer to cook. They did not mention that. But it was worth the wait. Nice options for vegetarians
The food was excellent! The hot mushroom appetizer and charred octopus entree were delicious. Best lentil soup I’ve had in a long time, too. We’ll be back!
Weird flickering light throughout meal. Looked at a review from 9 months ago, same thing happened then. Waited an hour and a half to get rest of appetizer. Entree was a thin, overcooked piece of steak, covered in pizza cheese. Service was almost non existent. They also tried to charge me 20$ for missing my reservation from open table. This place is disgusting.
