The food was wonderful and so unique. The thing that was also great about this place was that they were so accommodating. We had a few last minute changes to our reservation, the time, and the number of people, and we were a group of 7, and they were very willing to accommodate our party. Great experience overall!

I've had Georgian food in Kiev (although not yet in Tblisi) and have been looking for a restaurant serving Georgian food for quite a while. There are a number in NYC although only a couple show up on OpenTable (and only one now down here in DC).
I LOOOOVE Georgian cooking, one of those really unique and subtle cuisines that is both rustic and sophisticated all at once. I have to say that Oda totally met my expectations, in fact the lamb dishes, the bread with egg and cheese (khachapuri) as well as the lamb dishes and the desserts were all better than my previous Georgian high water mark in Kiev. Coupled with very interesting wines (a little rough but also sophisticated, like the food) and it was quite an evening.
A tad loud, and not necessarily elegant (but very real and non-plastic), it again made me feel right at home. Fits the neighborhood really well. Ignore parking but do get there however you can!!

Excellent food, including quality and selection. Service sub par, took over 10 mins to even get a menu, they forgot to bring a dish and we were charged for it anyway - I noted it and they did delete it appropriately from the check. Indeed they were very busy at the time so I don’t doubt there was sufficient effort but perhaps insuffixient staffing. Still though for quality Georgian food would still recommend just not at peak time.

This was my second time and the food was just as good. Excellent service. Two of us shared two appetizers and one entree - plenty filling. Very tasty seasonings but if you're going with a low calorie meal, this is not that - lots of butter in any of the breads. You should just go with the goal of a walking away with a very pleasant culinary experience.

My daughter-in-law is Russian and loves Georgian food. She plans to come back to this restaurant until she has tried everything on the menu. For my New York taste the food was different and very good. I too am looking forward to returning and trying other choices.

Unusual cuisine for NYC. Needs some explanation, which servers are happy to supply. Good-sized portions, reasonable costs, and some lovely wines from Georgia.

Absolutely fantastic. Wide array of options on the menu, offering variety if you're working with food restrictions. Everything is its own flavor bomb. The servers are friendly, warm, and funny. They clearly take pride and joy in their cooking - for good reason - and, when we told the server/owner how great everything tasted, his response? "I know."

I hesitated before checking yes, that I would recommend this restaurant. Many aspects were appealing--the ambiance (although noisy), the service, the appetizers. However my main dish, the lamb in casserole was very disappointing. I ordered lamb not only because it's a meat I particularly like but because that part of the world is known for preparing lamb in a variety of very tasty ways. This lamb, served in chunks, was, instead of meltingly tender and succulent, hard and dry, all but unchewable. It was served in an uninteresting sauce heavy on the tomato side. I probably will try again.

This was not our first time here, we were a bit disappointed. We had made a reservation for 10:30PM but arrived at 10:45PM - this clearly seemed like an inconvenience to the staff; yet they still seated us. We ordered right away, they were out of one of the sodas I like. Our food quickly arrived, it was okay. It did not compare to anything we have ever had here before, as you could tell they were even rushing on the food. At 11:00PM midst bite we were interrupted and told that we would need to close out or tab, as they are closing the register. While we were trying to enjoy our dinner. Unfortunately we will most likely return again, as the selection on Georgian restaurants are very slim, and the food usually is very good. But this time we were awfully disappointed.

I love Georgian food, but it is almost impossible to find in the United States, so every year on our annual visit to New York my wife and I dine at Oda House. We have tried two others but like Oda House best. The food is great. The decoration and ambiance could be more Georgian, e. g. reproductions of Pirosmani instead of Modigliani, and the service, though very good, is sometimes too fast. I;ll keep going there as long as I am able.

You need not know about Georgian cuisine to love this restaurant.

This place delivered far beyond what I expected. I'm not sure where I heard about it, but God bless whomever spread the word.
Our waiter answered all of our questions and gave us amaaaazing recommendations from wine to the glorious bread boats filled with cheese and egg...we are still talking about the food 3 days later.
We ordered the eggplant appetizer (cold), trio of dumplings, cheese and egg boat (that's not what it's called on the menu, but it's the 1st cheese boat), and dish of mushroom and onion baked in a yeast bread. Every single morsel was delicious. The tiny bit that went home with my friend was promptly eaten by her fiancee.

Georgian food is hard to find in Manhattan, there are only 2 spots. We went to Oda because of a recommendation by a friend. After many Georgian meals we had before in Kiev, Ukraine, we can say that the cooking style in Oda is very authentic and excellent. We had some cold appetizers (PKHALI TRIO), followed by KHACHAPURI, then CHAKAPULI as a main course, followed by a dessert (walnut pie). There is a good selection of Georgian white and red wines, by the glass and as a bottle, all reasonably priced. There is also a large selection of dishes for people who believe that they might have a problem with gluten.

Could not have enjoyed it more. Authentic Georgian cuisine was not just as described, but better. Napoleani for dessert was so fresh the cream tasted as if the dairy was located in the basement. Highest marks.

I have been to this restaurant a few times before, and the food is quite good, but after my last experience there, I don't think I will ever go back. This was probably the worst service I've ever received at a restaurant. We were basically ignored when we walked through the door. Although the staff glanced at us several times, no one was coming over to seat us. We finally were able to wave someone down and told them we had a reservation. It still took a while for us to be seated. From the time we walked in the door, to the time we were actually seated and received menus took almost 20 minutes. That should have been a warning sign to leave, but we stayed.

We ordered some wine, adjaruli, khinkali, and two entrees. The bread and dumplings came out in a reasonable time, but we were still waiting for the entrees as people who came in quite a bit later than us were receiving their food before us. We asked about our dishes and were assured they were almost done. Another 20 minites or so went by and we were still waiting for our entrees. By this time it was 9:45, nearly two hours after our reservation and we still didn't have our food. My friend had to catch a flight, so we stood up to leave. They told us to stay a little longer and said the food was almost ready, but we paid for the bread, dumplings and wine and left. There was no apology. An offer to at least give the bread or wine for free in exchange for the ridiculous amount of time we had waited and still didn't have food would have been nice, but no. I won't be back here again. Next time I want Georgian food, I'll go to Old Tbilisi.

I just discovered this place and can't believe I have lived so close for so long and never been! It's my new favorite East Village restaurant. The food is so good, interesting, tasty, fresh, made with so much love! The servers are so sweet, casual and kind and attentive. The ambiance is very low key, almost could miss it walking by which I why I think it is such a hidden gem. GO!!!!

My book club had a fantastic night at Oda House. We chose it since part of our book this month was set in Georgia and we wanted to experience the cuisine. The owner came over to help us make our selections. We ended up sharing some breads, salads, appetizers, a couple of mains, and Georgian wine. Everything was delicious and we felt well worth the trip to Alphabet City.

Really attentive staff amd prices are excellent for the quality and quantity. Salmon entree excellent. Cold chicken liver appetizer amazing. Homemade dumplings with lamb good too.

Best Georgian restaurant in town - it goes without saying!

Oda House offers an extensive menu revolving around the staples of Georgian cuisine. Imeruli, Chakapuli, and Chanakhi (and more!) will surprise you. The wine menu is also very interesting, especially if you want to discover one of the most intriguing wines in the world - the Rkatsiteli (amber wine, made in a qveri).

This is authentic Georgian food, music and wine.
The service was great. I recommend ordering many dishes for the table and sharing the foods on individual plates. If this is your first time eating Georgian food, ask the staff for recommendations because they have a variety of foods from different parts of Georgia.
I was with a few friends, but I also saw couples and large groups there.

I had a late appointment on the LES and decided to give this place a try after reading some reviews. I was very pleased with the meal. My dinner guest and I arrived 45 minutes early for our reservation on a Friday and they were very accommodating. I looked like a complete tourist attempting to pronounce the meal titles...but that's half the fun. Good proportions for the price. Great tasting food. I found the bowl/presentation of my food to be a bit awkward to eat out of neatly and with dignity. However all things being fair, if my only complaint is the bowl my delicious food was served in, then its a good day! As all things in new york, a bit loud, close quarters but well worth the trip to avenue b.
