We went for brunch after seeing their unique brunch menu. The outdoor dining area was spacious and quaint. There were a number of misters that kept the entire area very comfortable. The food was outstanding. My wife had a sweet offering of fried chicken on a skillet pancake with maple syrup, while I had smoked brisket on Parmesan polenta with a fried egg. Both meals were delicious. Although this was the last service until August, we definitely plan to return for dinner when they reopen
Nothing was terrible, but that’s the best I can say. Food was room temp, and not very flavorful. Overall I felt like I could make the same food at home but better. I got the ocotillo chicken and I thought it was odd to serve chicken on top of cold potato salad. The chicken itself was fine, nothing exciting. The person with me got the pork shank, he loved the beans but the pork was room temp and again not very exciting flavor-wise.
Squash blossoms were excellent! Love the menu choices!
Pandemic or no the superior quality of service, ambiance, menu choices and food preparation remains. Still my favorite restaurant! Better yet, they respect CDC & State repoening guidelines!
Great food, great environment, music put you in a great mood. Service was awesome as well I'll be back for sure.
Food and service was very good. Individual ( Hostess ) was not pleasant nor very personable. First impressions can make a break a small business. I would have my most friendly employee greeting people.
My only minor issue was the food could've been a bit warmer. I enjoy my food super warm so could just be me. The service was a little slow but given the times were in acceptable and they even apologized. I would go back! Great arw menu.
Fantastic in every way!
Small plates were the best
Great ambience and service. Good food. Nice outside seating area which makes for a cool gathering space.
The food was amazing. Corbin, our waiter was perfect. Atmosphere is casual upscale. Highly recommend and definitely a place to frequent.
Pork shank not up to par. Tasted as if it had been precooked a few days before and reheated for service.
Food was great. We were hoping to celebrate my husbands birthday but no mention was made even though in noted that we were celebrating a birthday. I didn’t expect singing and dancing but at least a mention or an option to purchase a desert and a candle. It was otherwise a good brunch.
Great time and great food. The space was a pleasant surprise. Just lovely.
We had a group of 11 and all of our orders came out right around the same time, our waiter was very friendly and patient and as usual everything was good. Being out on the patio with all the nice misters was very pleasant and they are taking care with the spacing of tables. All in all we had a very nice time
The food was great ! But it was all a little on the cold side .. still delicious! Expensive but good. What a beautiful restaurant
Food was delicious and the staff was attentive and helpful. Atmosphere was louder than expected.
The halibut Market Special was incredible. All staff were welcoming and friendly. We had dinner at Ocotillo then stayed for another drink at Sidebar.
Ocotillo was great! I can’t believe I had never heard of it before. The atmosphere is so cool, trendy but Arizona casual. I wish it was cooler so we could sit outside because the patio is the coolest part. The food was excellent. I definitely recommend getting multiple small plates to split for apps. I had the bucatini pasta as my entree and holy cow, it was tied for the best pasta I’ve ever had in my life. Homemade, fresh, chewy, perfectly cooked, amazing pomodoro sauce with a little kick to it. And the huge ball of burrata on top was the perfect addition. I would highly recommend this place for an occasion, and would be great for a special event as I believe they rent out the patio. I can’t wait to go back and try more food!
The carrot fatoush salad was the only disappointment. It was served at room temp and should have been cold. The other meals were excellent
Liked almost everything except the manager has his desk that he works at immediately as you walk in. I would strongly suggest that they at least swap places with the hostess stand that’s 25 feet away.
Atmosphere was excellent, food delicious, service was less than quality
Second time coming here. Had to get the beef ribs this time around as I saw how amazing they looked when I came the first time. Huge place to throw company or wedding parties, excellent bar area as well, both inside and outside. Our waiter was exceptional!
We ordered lost of the different dishes to share and loved everything we tried. Our server gave great recommendations. We were visiting from out of town but definitely want to go again next time we are in town.
Fun atmosphere, menu interesting, and food excellent
Our brunch at Ocotillo was exceptional!! Every dish that we ordered was absolutely fantastic. This is a very creative and unique menu that sets this restaurant apart from all others. We cannot wait to come back, it was easily one if the best brunch experiences that I’ve had in Phoenix.
Have been returning to Ocotillo since their opening. Always delighted by the selection, food, beverages and hospitality. Recommend to families, friends, business associates. This was my first brunch experience - will return again and sit outside.
This is a long way from our home in Carefree, which is a shame because we would eat here often if it were closer to home. The menu is eclectic and everything we tried was yummy. We shared the green salad with shiitakes, thin sliced pears, peanuts, ginger/soy dressing, but it was enormous! so had to take some home. Also tried the potato dumplings with beef and wow - what a filling appetizer. That could have been dinner. We both ordered the pasta with duck ragu, and I brought half my serving home - just too much food! We will return - too many good sounding items on the menu we didn't get to try.
Best spot in midtown
Ocotillo never disappoints. The only problem to note is that when I made the reservation on opentable, I was asked if I wanted to be seated inside or outside. I chose to be seated inside. Upon arrival, the seating preference was not correct and they tried to seat us outside. Ocotillo was very accommodating and found a table for us inside, but Opentable needs to confirm the accuracy of the app.
Food was excellent, cool atmosphere. Definitely would go back and recommend to others.
Excellent food, great service. Took out of town company, it was perfect.
we were seated outside and we didn't have any problem moving inside
Ocotillo did a great job of accommodating our large party, which included small children and people with various dietary restrictions and preferences.
Still love this place - were able to accommodate a last minute reservation. Menu selections are still extensive however a bit disappointed in my go to meal as it was just lukewarm - not sure how long it may have sat waiting to come out. Service was slower than what i have experienced in the past
Good food, interesting interior, great brunch on Saturday and Sunday.
We had the best dinner here! The owner truly cares about this restaurant and all of the employees were so attentive. The food was incredible! Loved everything. Highly recommend.
Don’t really know where to start! We asked specific questions to our server and some of his responses were:- “ don’t get the crispy falafel it’s really dry and you won’t like it” “I wouldn’t get the sweet potatoes they take ages to come out” and when told one of our party is from NYC he said “oh well you aren’t going to like anything here if you are used to Michelin Star restaurants” we asked for his opinion between the Pinot Grigio and the Sauv Blanc and he responded ... “the Chenin Blanc is nice” our food came out very staggered which isn’t very nice for one person to eat alone. Finally the last plate (buckwheat pasta) came out cold. When asked if it could be made hotter ... he didn’t even apologize. It came back to the table 2 minutes later this time just lukewarm. At which point my friend asked to switch to the falafel (which incidentally was not dry!). My snails were very dry though and the garlic butter was pretty much just raw garlic in some cold butter. My cauliflower dish was terrible. I didn’t touch it after one bite but could not be bothered to complain any more. What happened Ocotillo??? This was shocking and embarrassing to bring out of town guests to.
Very impressed! Love the Happy Hour options and price.
