If you have never been than it is a must. It was all very creative, fresh and absolutely delicious. Eat one of everything, because it is that good.
The food was just average but the atmosphere was fantastic!!The hostess , staff and our waitress was awesome! The atmosphere was the best thing
Great atmosphere & service
Amazing as always....great food! Nice ambience...our server, Taylor was terrific!!
An amazing surprise to find such a great Organic Restaurant!
Great food and drink choices, knowledgeable staff and attentive service.
Had a nice date in the coffee garden/picnic area with some girlfriends. Food was very good and the frosé was a fun new cocktail to try! Definitely recommend for any occasion.
Third visit and very satisfied with the meal. Party of 4 , 1 not a vegetable eater, 1 not a fish eater.
Venue clean, fun, appealing. Staff is extremely efficient. Portions worth the $s spent.
Mushroom flan-a weak entry. Needs seasoning.
Chicken wings-very good.
Potato Leek Soup-excellent.
Pasta-good, but a little bland,tomatoes very good.
Almond joy dessert- very good.
Beer choices-very good.
Wine -a little pricey, but good choices by the glass.
Probably one of the best choices in the area for small plates (note: entreees available)
Ocotillo is amazing! Beautiful indoor/outdoor setting and fresh, delicious, inventive food! Meats and fresh pasta dishes are outstanding! Great for breakfast, lunch and dinner. During the day, it’s great for kids too.
Super disappointed by this place. The restaurant itself is beautiful, inside and out. Looks like it might be best to just go for drinks at night. We made reservations for 7 people for a business birthday lunch, and definitely wish we would have gone somewhere else. Our server wore a dirty, backwards MLB baseball cap and looked/acted more like a cook or busser than a server. (If you've ever worked in the restaurant business, you know what I mean.) We ordered appetizers, and those were decent and timely. Our food took a while, but it was the busy lunch hour so not too odd. What really bummed us out was how terrible the entrees were. My salad came without any dressing and with tomatoes (which I was super specific about because I'm allergic.) They took my salad and brought it back out still without dressing, and I could tell the'd just picked the tomatoes out as there were left behind juices and tomato seeds. Furthermore, it came without half the ingredients it said were in it on the menu and instead was substituted for other misc ingredients... Then I found a legitimate leaf from a garden weed; furry, spiky and all. Yuck! I wish I could say my dish were the exception. One coworker had a severely overcooked salmon and another a salad overrun with onions. Our birthday celebrator ordered the brussel sprout chicken salad, and that thing even looked gross! The chicken looked and tasted like it was boiled and several days old, and the brussel sprouts were so bitter and hard. They must have been at least a week old. It was absolutely covered in cheese too, I assume to disguise the rubbery pale-gray colored chicken strips on top. Only one of us enjoyed our meal, and that was our carnivorous, garbage disposal coworker. For sure, will not be going back and will tell others to steer-clear. Definitely wish I would have taken pictures, but we already felt awkward sitting without eating and leaving plate fulls of food without asking for to-go boxes.
Small and plain outdoor dining with little ambiance. Service was slow and not very helpful. Best outdoor spaces are reserved for birthday parties and groups. Too many other nice places to go back.
We came here for a birthday brunch and were disappointed to find that they did not offer sangria that day (which we usually order there during brunch). Service was slow and they kept telling us it was because they had a 60 party baby shower outside (which clearly requires a reservation, so why not have more staff in the kitchen?)
Noisy place indoors dining area. Wine ordered was not available. Another suggested - good. Though, still charged at first wine pick price. Bill was $6 more. Oh, well, my mistake for not checking well. The Balsamic Strawberries are fantastic, unusual, filling and delicious. Multi colored roasted carrots yummy. The smoked salmon was moist and flavorful. Our server was good, just really busy at lunchtime.
Great food, good service
Three friends met for lunch who hadn't seen each other in a year. Was there for 2.5 hours and not rushed at all. Good food and large portions. Diverse menu.
Amazing per usual!
Great service and interesting menu. Food could have been hotter, may have been sitting in kitchen a bit.
We sat inside but there was an outdoor courtyard area that appeared to be for large parties. The food was ok. The short ribs small plate was super over cooked. There was no fall off the bone to that plate. Rubbery but good flavor so it was a disappointment. The smoke salmon was ok but nothing to write home about. The in house made pasta had a great consistency but was super spicy even for my husband who likes spicy items. A warning would have been nice so we could steered away from that choice.
Nice to find a great restaurant with so many awesome vegetarian choices. My daughter is vegan, I am vegetarian, and my husband and son are meat eaters. Lots on the menu to satisfy everyone! Delicious vegetables!
Ate way too much; quite simply, because the food was outstanding. We had two small plates, a salad and entrees, and all were great. The portions were hardy—even the small plates. We adored our server; she made great recommendations, and brought the perfect cocktail when I gave an obscure description of what sounded good. The outdoor seating areas are super awesome! And note, the bathrooms are outside. :-)
This review is hard because Ocotillo has food that is good enough to be a successful upscale restaurant. But the little things are just off. The food had great flavor but the portion sizes were too big for two people to share two small plates, a pasta, and an entree as the server recommended. The sub dried strawberries were delicious but they weren't cut and they overwhelmed each bite if left whole. The server was knowledgeable but didn't put the second course in until the small plates were cleared so there was an long wait between the courses. We had to ask for new plates between courses and they simply placed them in the center of the table with the silverware instead of resetting the table. One of the bussers wore a backwards hat and distressed jeans, but not in a cool way, it just looked sloppy. I regularly eat out at that price point but I just expect the restaurant to care a little more about overall guest experience. Nothing about my meal was bad, it was just off in so many places that summed to a lackluster night out.
Waiter was very unfamiliar with the food as the menu had just changed. He was not able to explain certain items and didn't seem to interested in finding out. Perhaps the chef could let the wait-staff try the some of the dishes so that they can be more informed. Setting was beautiful and the cocktails were delicious (Hard lemonade). Pasta was a bit bland (Creste di gallo with pesto and broccoli) I still recommend this spot because past meals were good and the ambience is lovely
Every dish was perfect. The charred sweet potatoes are a meal in themselves! The chicken was so delicious with an amazing sauce. Service was awesome!
So good, I had the matcha pancake. Service was great as well. Say on the patio, checked out the community dining area after the meal. When I go back I’ll definitely do the community dining area, loved the feel.
Great food and staff. Looking for a fun night with friends with a delicious eclectic menu? Ocotillo the place.
We selected Ocotillo based on reviews and it did not disappoint. We are from the east coast and wanted to have lunch in Phoenix before heading to the airport. We booked early at 11:30 and there were only a few folks dining but it quickly filled up. Outside space is a surprise and is quite nice. Our waiter was fantastic and we enjoyed the Beet Salad and Tuna- best we have ever had. Highly recommend to all seeking a foodie experience.
First time. There. Sunday. Afternoon.
Service was very slow.
Food. The beet salad. Was canned beets w a very heavy cream
Sauce. I sent back
Salmon. Was heavy salted. Not very good.
Coffee was weak.
Overall. Not a good dining. Experience.
It was great overall. We loved it
Very friendly staff and the food was delicious. Very good service for your money!
What a fantastic restaurant! We were a party of six and each ordered two dishes (salad/app and a small plate in most cases) and they were all terrific. The red curry cauliflower, the beet salad, the tuna and the duck were all particularly outstanding, as was the handmade pasta. Service was attentive but not cloying. We talked about it for a week, and we will be back.
Excellent food, great setting and lively atmosphere.
Our waiter was very attentive and offered great suggestions.
Once again, the team at Ocotillo hit it out of the park. Whether a carnivore, pescatarian, GF or vegan, there's something for everyone. Cauliflower, ribeye, beets, salmon, root vegetables, ribs...I could go on and on. Generous portions, great food, superb mixologist, attentive staff, and a dog friendly patio. Go!
Loved the food, ambiance and the service! The birthday cupcake could a little bigger, lol!
The roasted cauliflower was delicious and slightly spicy. It had Thai basil and other spices in the sauce. The mesquite grilled chicken tasted like a refined version of a summer bbq. The food and outside seating areas were great.
We happened into Ocotillo for Sunday Brunch - what a treat! We cannot wait to come back. We could not have been more pleased with the unique and delicious food and the excellent service.
Group of six visiting PHX had a very enjoyable experience. We sampled many items and all were first rate. Creative menu and knowledgeable server made for a great night out.
Cool scene, urban setting. Server very attentive. Beef ribs tasty but very fatty, The porterhouse my wife ordered was overly salty and she declined. The "lime" french fries were interesting but "warm." The substituted salmon dish dry. Our friend had a calamari dish listed in the pasta section that also fell short.
Love this place! I was dining with a vegetarian friend of mine and we both left happy sharing plates. Love the decor and our service from Jose was impeccable.
The home made pasta dish was delish! Great for family with kids and large group get together at the outdoor dining area with lawn! Food was good too!
We will come back again.
The meal was overall excellent. Especially enjoyed the homemade pasta.
