Servers seemed lost and did not make us feel welcome. Food delicious.
Ate outside which was very nice.
One, if not, the best Cuban sandwich we’ve had.
We shared 1 appetizer (ceviche was great), Caesar salad, and Cuban sandwich. It was just right. Price was good.
The food was incredible! Table was a bit small for three but not enough to detract from the beautiful blend of spices and culinary talent.
A wonderful experience with absolutely delicious food. The Mexican bread pudding is the best we've ever had!
Love this place!! So beautiful and food is great!
Yummy food and good vibe! Beautiful decorations, excellent service
Ocho has a unique vibe in a city where Tex-Mex cuisine rules. From the beautiful hotel to the view of the river whilst sitting in a greenhouse type setting, this restaurant has it all, including parking! The service is friendly and attentive yet not intrusive. The menu is an interesting take on Cuban tradition and the cocktail menu is enticing.
We waited over 40 minutes for appetizers before a show at The Tobin. Kitchen service was slow, and our order was inaccurate. I love the building and the food though.
Service was very slow. We allowed a hour and an half for drinks and snacks before performance at the Tobin. Because the service was so slow we did not get to stay for our coffee and dessert and had to walk very briskly to the theater. Will think twice about going here again if I have another appointment.
Beautiful ambience but service was a bit slow and I wish they had a serrated spoon for my bruleed grapefruit- it was quite a mess to eat with a soup spoon but otherwise, delicious food.
Second time we have stayed at hotel Havana and we always dine at Ocho. Had dinner there and ordered room service brunch the following morning. Both meals and drinks were delicious. Can’t wait to go back.
We had a great time at Ocho! We had a bottle of the red blend and it was fantastic. The food was very good. We tried a little bit of everything. The chorizo con queso was our favorite. The mushroom tacos and pork empanadas were excellent. Lots of flavor. The crevice was so so, not my favorite but I loved the plantain chips they were served with. We also had the pork quesadillas, salsa platter and guacamole. The chips were delicious too. I loved the atmosphere and service. We were seated right next to the hostess stand and our table was very small and leaned a bit so that was a bit annoying but we had an overall wonderful night out with friends.
As always, amazing! Took some colleagues from out of town here and everyone loved it. One of my favorite places to go in San Antonio.
Interesting conservatory atmosphere with nice food and attentive waitstaff. One of San Antonio's older buildings that has been nicely preserved.
Food was amazing and at a reasonable price.
Nice place. A little cold by the door but we had jackets. Drinks were awesome and well made.
Awkward service but overall good.
Food was delicious.
Such a fun brunch/afternoon snack spot! Food was great and service was on point. Would highly recommend the pancakes!!
Waitress was amazing. Food didn’t come out as expected. We were going to just go ahead and eat it as is- but the waitress kindly insisted on having it remade. Ambiance was relaxing. Music could have been a little louder- but wasn’t a problem. Felt comfortable. Food was great!
The place was nice but.. it took 15 minutes for a server to greet the table. We had made reservations for 3 at 11 am on Friday, just Incase it was busy. The food was alright. Wouldn’t go back to eat
It was ok, but nothing special
Fantastic little spot away from the "usual" hot spots. Fantastic food.
They were definitely busy so the poor server was working her butt off. But the service and food was awesome as usual.
Fun setting and calm environment great staff.
It was nice . The night was a little cold so not much insulation from the outside weather . Nice restaurant . We went a little late so not too many people . The food was surprisingly good . Service could improve they need to be more attentive when a party comes in. ( I believe they were short staffed )
Usually I love Ocho, would absolutely recommend to a friend, and am happy with the service level, however this previous meal I was deeply disappointed. We arrived for our reservation and was told our table wasn't ready, which was fine I understand that 100%, but they couldn't even give me an idea of how long it would be and we had plans after our dinner we couldn't be late for. I let the young woman know that I wasn't upset by any means it's just that we'd have to eat somewhere else because of our timeline to which she responded she'd work on a solution. Said solution ended up her making the two young men sitting at our "designated table" get up and finish their drinks at the bar...right next to the table. This made the whole situation incredibly uncomfortable for myself, my guest, and the two men who were simply finishing their meal. Once we were seated our waitress treated us very coldly as though we'd asked for that to happen despite the fact that we were clearly very uncomfortable with what had just gone down. She served wine in a rocks glass because they were out of wine glasses, but instead of asking if this was alright/if we'd be interested in another drink she just said "Hope this doesn't change your wine experience", and then walked off. It was just all very weird and unprofessional in a restaurant I usually have such a pleasant experience in.
Was a great experience except for the parking. The parking lot is not big enough for cars to pull in or out of a space. Took many tries to get both in and out. Valet parking would be an added benefit! I will recommend it to friends but caution them about parking. That would be the only reason why I don't return.
Food was delicious, cocktails were perfect, and service couldn’t have been better. This place isn’t to be missed! The pork chop with mashed potatoes was perfectly cooked and seasoned as was the trout and shrimp dish.
Fun menu, great atmosphere, good food.
Great food but the price was a bit high for what you get. Overall a great experience
We had breakfast at Ocho. We had the restaurant to ourselves since it was early and mid-week. The setting is wonderful, right along the riverwalk. There was only one waitress and although she was busy doing set-up work she provided good service. She wasn't especially friendly. The omelette was very good, and the plantain griddle cakes were excellent (what we came for).
I love Ocho! Great food and ambiance. The service is always a little slow and seems like a lack of leadership because they seem a little chaotic. Overall I keep coming back because I love a good Bloody Mary and crab cakes, and it’s so pretty.
Ocho always provides a nice dining experience with wonderful choices of food and drink. Will always recommend to anyone going to Tobin for a show.
Disappointed in service, the waitress did not tell us that they changed the drink menu and charged us extra because the drink was no longer o the menu. Manager was nice and corrected it but waitress needs to be trained.
When we got their they did not have our reservation but were seated promptly. I had made the reservation about a month ago. Everything was great!
Went here for the first time for a special date night, and we loved it! We ordered the Bistec and Chicken platters with Pozole and Ceviche appetizer and everything was AMAZING. Excellent quality meal and service for a great price point. Strongly recommend the Pozole!
The food was wonderful and the service too.!We had the bread pudding for dessert and I REALLY wanted coffee with it but need de-caf in the evening but they had none. Sure wish it were available for those of us who sacrifice sleep if we have caffeine in the evening.
The food and drinks here are excellent. Hands down the best pazole we have ever had. The trout and shrimp entree was phenomenal. We will definitely be going back here.
Delicious food for breakfast. Try the plantain pancakes and open Cuban with fried egg. Yummy !
Omg sitting at the bar was an awesome experience! Bartenders are super professional and knowledgeable and so inviting! New year's dinner was grear
Great food, nice location and unique ambiance!
