Oceanaire Seafood Room - Orlando Ratings and Reviews
Nice place. Have dined here many times. Execellent seafood. Steaks overpriced and comes with no sides. Service subpar relative to other sister franchise restaurants such as Vic's Chophouse and Moon Fish. Restrooms and restaurant very clean. Presentation of seafood is excellent. Cocktails are hit and miss. Location is great. Parking in nearby garage. Valet parking for Pointe Orlando is consistently appalling and total waste of time. This restaurant is very cooperative with Open Table guests and promptly redeemed my Open Table gift card. The menu has great selection of seafood and steaks but not everything on the menu is available. No restaurant is perfect and this is one of the best seafood restaurants in Orlando.
First of all, let me say that I have been to Oceanaire in three different states and never been disappointed with their seafood. My husband and I moved to Florida three years ago from Maryland and have been continuously disappointed by the lack of good seafood in Central Florida. We both ordered the Chesapeake Bay Style Crab cakes and they were great. We ordered two sides (mashed potatoes and green beans) and a Caesar salad which we shared. Salad was great and beans were good; however, I really was disappointed with the mashed potatoes. The consistency was very thick and not fluffy at all and actually they did not appear to be freshly made. I really hate to complain about anything because everything else was wonderful. Our server, Shanna, was wonderful and helped make our dinner great and we enjoyed meeting the manager, Roger, and chatting a bit with him. We went to Oceanaire to celebrate our 23rd anniversary and we were also given a commemorative menu with the date and Happy 23rd Anniversary printed on top.
Very nice place waaay expensive. Horrible for locals location .
I had the lobster bisque it was kind of sweet and thick and heavy. Companion had shrimp cocktail. Yes they were 5 huge shrimp and they were $21.
The entrees were well prepared crabcakes and swordfish. Drinks were ok but not interesting or special.
Pricey place if you want to overkill to appearance of wealth. Ohh alacart veggies were on average $8. -$12.
My husband and I were celebrating our 7th anniversarys. We wanted to try somewhere new in orlando. After seeing sure high reviews I thought this would be a good place. What a mistake!
The place was empty when we got there (and until we left) they survive on big conferences as our sever informed us. We ordered two appetizers. One was the tuna tar tar which I normally love. But it was as drenched in sauce I could even taste this fish. We then ordered a wedge salad. I noticed my plate was spotted while my husband's was all white. I rubbed my finger over the spots and they wiped off. To my horror it was a nasty dirty plate 🤢 the manager did come over and say they were removing that from our bill but seriously I just wanted to leave.
I ordered the main lobster and my husband ordered the king crab legs. TO BE HONEST I BUY BETTER SEAFOOD AT COSTCO.
No one ever asked if we were celebrating a special occasion. Our waiter did not seem to know the menu or he did and just didn't care.
After spending over $300 I'm sorry we decided to try a new place. Stick with Eddie V's for seafood or Del Friscos for steaks . THIS PLACE IS NOT GOOD.
This was a mixed bag. The food was very good, and the server was very friendly, but somehow the staff, including the server, was just not on top of their game that night. We had to ask for drinks twice. Our goat cheese salads, a signature salad, were delivered without goat cheese. Any corrections, took too long. ie, the goat cheese arrived after the meal was completely finish.
We each had filet and grilled shrimp, it was wonderful.
The restaurant noise level was not "energetic" as the option about states, it was just plain loud. It felt like you had to shout across the table in order to be herd. This part of the experience was awful and will keep me from ever dining here again. It's a shame really/
We came in for dinner for my brother- in laws going away to the marines. We took advantage of the special Memorial Day menu which was great offer for a 3 course meal. The food was amazing and our server Michael was friendly, knowledgeable, and very welcoming. It was a nice send off dinner that we would come back for. If you haven't tried oceanaire before give them a try they have great food and service.
Our experience at Oceanaire was wonderful. We were welcomed and seated quickly, and our server Michael, as well as the others were very knowledgeable, professional and top notch. The staff work together as a team, which makes you feel very well taken care of. The food was outstanding, and the presentation beautiful. This is a very upscale restaurant, and to find that in the middle of International Drive is rare! I would recommend to any seafood fans looking for a fine dining experience. The only thing I would recommend to the management is to have more enforcement of a dress code. Some of the tourists came in in tube tops, jeans, short shorts and flip flops, which, in my opinion, is unacceptable in an establishment of this caliber. Also is a little loud. But all things considered, we were very impressed and will definitely come back.
Food was amazing. Our server was very knowledgeable and professional.
Although the support service/back servers that were supposed to assist her truly need work. Their condescending - fake attitude toward customers, poor timing (empty water glasses & dirty plates sitting in front of us for at least 10 minutes) and lack of communication (auctioning off our entrees) was a HUGE disappointment in our dining experience.
Thankfully the food made up for it.
Cannot say enough about this restaurant. Have been a number of times and have always had great food and fantastic service. Seafood selection is outstanding and am always impressed with the quality of service. Will continue to have this be the restaurant for special occasions and when want to get great seafood.
it was our first time dining at oceanaire. and more than likely our last. we are locals. thought the menu was overpriced. our server, while very nice, wasnt the best. he approached our table and told us he was going to "dumb down the menu for us" since its big. my fiance and i are both chefs and that just seemed to be a little insulting. it would have been better if he just asked us if we had any questions instead of assuming we didnt know what we were looking at. also, there didnt seem to be good communication between him and his back server. we ordered sparkling water from the back server and the front server brought out regular water, and then the back server brought the sparkling. also, we tried to order several appetizers and once we ordered the first 2 our server stopped us and told us maybe we should hold off so we could finish our entrees. i dont know about you, but i thought a servers job is to sell and drive up the check average. he stopped us before we could order the other 2 we wanted to try. my fiances flounder was mushy and the stomach and lungs were left inside the whole fish. those shouldn't be there. my fish wasnt anything to write home about. it was ok. the key lime pie was good. the coffee that came out to us was just warm. overall, for a place that charges the prices they charge, i thought it would be up there with service and food. we were both pretty disappointed. id say find somewhere else for seafood. save your money.
