Oceanaire Seafood Room - Orlando Ratings and Reviews
Can I give the food 6 stars? The raw oysters were delicious--loved the fresh shredded horseradish. The lobster bisque was the best I have ever tasted! Our server Shanna was extremely knowledgeable and very attentive. The only thing we did not love were the hashbrowns--a bit too oily for my taste. I will be back!
We were a party of 6. It was a business dinner to try and get a warm feeling about one another. That we did get along with a lot of laughs. We ordered, had Apps and drinks and 45 minutes later were told that they had run out of 3 of our dishes. Salmon, how does a seafood restaurant, a well regarded seafood restaurant, run out of salmon at approx. 8:30 pm. Now, we had arrived at 6:30 and I'm sure our order was in by 7. Anyway we laughed about it but having to reorder 3 dishes resulted in a 4 hour meal.
It really gave us time to bond but were we all tired. This was my 3 rd time there and each time the service has been awful but know that the FOOD when it arrived was fantastic.
I entertained 12 clients for an evening of delicious food, drink and fun. Barbara (from Budapest) was our server and while she had a bit of an accent, she was very knowledgeable and well-versed with the menu. From our Angry Snapper to the John Dory, everything was prepared exactly as ordered and everyone had a great time. The presentations are beautiful, the ambiance is fabulous and the staff is very attentive and professional. I definitely recommend Oceanaire as a great place to dine for a romantic evening, a special celebration or a business dinner.
My wife was seriously disappointed in the lobster bisque she had. There was absolutely no lobster to be found in the entire bowl. We usually get lobster bisque next door at Capital Grille where the lobster is plentiful. In this case at one of our favorite places, Oceanaire, we did not get our money's worth. Sad and sorry.
We dined on New Years Eve so fair warning. Maybe it was just that day and it unfortunate timing on our parts. Some restaurants just jack up the prices and gouge you on New Years Eve and these guys killed us. Three of us dined and the check was $260. That was two appt, three entries and side of brussel sprouts. Also there were three glasses of wine ($12/glass). The food was only ok. My swordfish ($38)was rather thin cut and the black and blue addition was lacking in blue cheese if it had it at all. My wife had the tile fish($28) which was over cooked. My daughter had the Lobster Mac and Cheese($18). Sherlock Holmes couldn't find the Lobster in this dish with a magnifying glass. Watery cheese sauce kind of embarrassing. The Oysters Rockefeller ($16) should have been great except they forgot to put them in the browner so it arrived looking and tasting uncooked. Really how hard is that to get right? The roasted Brussel Sprouts were missing the roasted part as well. They were steamed with bacon crumbles mixed in. Kind of bland and not at all what we were expecting for $14.00. The only thing that was exceptional was the bread which was a nice Sour Dough and plentiful.
service was very very slow, but our server was wonderful. Food was just okay, we had grouper cheeks for the first time, but it seemed they were over-fried. we also had scallops with beef short-rib, too salty for my taste. dessert was HUGE!! but yummy. ambiance is very nice and we had a good table. i doubt i would go back to this restaurant.
delicious food and some unusual choices, e.g. fresh marlin. Very fresh food. The service was excellent! The ambience was nice but a couple sat near us with very noisy kids. This restaurant not really suitable for young children. A bit pricey for the amount of food you get. I am not a big eater and I was still a little hungry after I ate my meal. Most entrees are expensive.
We are greatly regret our visit to Oceanaire. We asked our waiter for a delicious, reasonably priced red wine. The waiter said that he'd bring over one of his favorites, Nickel & Nickel. The wine was ok, and we couldn't find it on the menu.
My mouth hit the floor when the bill came and the glass of wine was $50, more than anything we ate! We feel duped.
What a huge disappointment.
Banquette seating evokes dining of yesteryear. Liveried waitstaff, excellent wine list, fine ambiance, crisp linens. The menu reads like an homage to Poseidon, octopus and escargot for appetizers, Dover sole and sea scallops for the entree and baked alaska for dessert with a marshmallow meringue from scratch. WORTH EVERY PENNY.
Service is great! We had a fantastic server that commutes over from Cocoa. She knew the menu well and was completely on top of everything.
The food is extremely overpriced for the portion size and quality.
The night we went they were having problems with their computers. The disappointment in this is that it started around 5:00. Our reservation was for 6:00 and we finished about an hour later yet were held there for almost another hour “waiting for the computers to come back up”. Granted they were being nice and offering tea, coffee and desserts. We would have rather settled up the way we ended up doing an hour earlier.
First time I have dined at Oceanaire. Was previously told by associate that it was a great seafood restaurant. I was not disappointed. Had some very creative seafood dishes and combinations on the menu. First time I tried Tile Fish - superb. Finished off with Baked Alaska - loved it!
Amazing fresh seafood options . Took customers there one day and had such a great evening we went back 24 hours later for dinner the next night without a customer. Food is AMAZING. Noise level is HIGH. This is not the place for a quite conversation, but ignore the noise and go for the food. I could (should) have stopped with just the fresh oysters, but ended up with an amazing swordfish entree and the family style sides. Then, we shared probably the BEST bread pudding I have ever had. You won't be disappointed.
Oceanaire was a very nice experience. The food was very good, atmosphere nice and service attentive.
If there is anything I would say to improve the experienceit would be to tell the waitress to slow down and provide only preparation information asked for. My wife and I both had a hard time absorbing the encyclopedia of details describing every detail of each dish. But that certainly didn't distract from an otherwise very nice experience.
Excellent food––but very pricey! For example, who pays $62 for steak? Granted, it's a seafood eatery but why charge so much for meat? One person, who doesn't like fish, was forced to order fish & chips because she didn't want to pay such an outrageous price for steak. Although the seafood prices were high, they were much more reasonable and the four others really enjoyed their dishes.
