Service was ok, we felt ignored. The mahi was cooked tough and at a place of this caliber I expected flacky smooth fish. Disappointing. However the ambiance was nice.

6 of us decided to go to Oceanaire for Restaurant week. I personally have never been there and was excited to try the food. The salmon and cod that we ordered were wonderful. They were cooked to perfection and very good. The crab cake was also wonderful...could have a crispier exterior, but very good.

Our disappointment was the extra appetizer we bought. It was the foix gras. It was $18 and about the size of my thumbnail. It was almost embarrassing. We had ordered 2 orders as there was 5 of us. We wanted just a tasting, but my bite was about the size of my pinky nail.

My other disappointment was the dessert. I was expecting something special, but received a brownie (not even warmed up) with a scoop of mint ice cream. BORING!!!

My boyfriend and I went to Oceanaire for Restaurant Week 2018. I had the crab cake appetizer and the salmon entree, both were delicious! The crab cake nearly melted in my mouth. Our server and wait assistant were very attentive, never letting our drinks go empty. For my third course, I chose the chocolate mouse which I didn't care for, but that's personal preference, it's a consistency thing. My boyfriend enjoyed a couple bites.
He ordered off the menu: also a crab cake appetizer and the lobster tail which was GIGANTIC! My only complaint (if it could be called that) is that the lobster tail didn't come with any sides which, for the price of it, I thought veggies or a starch would have been an option.

A bit pricey so we won't be able to go back often but I will definitely be back.

Negative reviews had me somewhat concerned - my advice is, ignore them. Arrived shortly before reservation time, seated promptly (very busy, 1st day of Restaurant Week). No loud music, conversations were fine. 2 of our group ordered from Restaurant Week menu, 3rd had some dietary concerns and ordered from main menu. Jamie our server was outstanding in recommending menu items that would work and confirmed ingredients with the kitchen. Crab cakes were outstanding. Salmon was some of the best I've ever eaten (and I grew up in AK). Mahi mahi with polenta was good, simple tuna from menu was great. Desserts were also very good. Service was great - even though restaurant was busy, we were not rushed through our courses - nor were they delayed. One of the best dining experiences I've had - pricier than I'd do on a daily basis, but I will be back. Many thanks, Jamie and everyone else!

Overall great experience. Anyone looking for a great experience and relaxing atmosphere should consider the oceanaire especially if you appreciate seafood.
