Oceanaire Seafood Room - Minneapolis Ratings and Reviews
My reservation was at 8:00pm I didn’t get a table until a half an hour later and food an hour later. After waiting so long I was brought out the wrong entree and was trying to be persuaded to go with the wrong entree on Valentine’s Day food was mediocre the restaurant’s ambiance is very nice though
My boyfriend and I dined here for Valentine's Day. Prior to the reservation, I called twice to ask if there would be a menu specifically for that day, and each time I was told that there would not be. Come Valentine's Day, we sit down and are handed a completely different menu than what I saw online when I booked. Our server Kate did her best to help us pick out our meals - Crab Cakes that were nearly cold when I received them and a steak that was grossly under cooked for medium-well - and Kate was probably the only good thing about our experience here. If I had the choice I would go back and book somewhere else. It was ridiculously overpriced for the portion size and the quality of food. I would not choose to dine here ever again.
It was amazing, the waitress was amazing and super friendly. The food was the best. We had the best table in the whole restaurant on valentine’s. The drinks where very good
As well. The price on the food was higher than normal. I assume it was because it was Valentine’s Day. So the prices fluctuates, depending on if it’s a holiday. Besides that it was wonderful. One of the best restaurants in Minneapolis.
This is a very good seafood restaurant - perhaps the best in the Twin Cities. But while the menu is impressive and the quality of ingredients (including cocktails) is first rate, the fish here can be a bit... basic. You'll still have an amazing experience if you eat here. But at $$$$ for two with drinks, you may not find yourself coming back here very often.
Overall, it’s a wonderful place that we visit often. I guess only minus was them charging us for a desert we never ordered. We mentioned that we’re celebrating a birthday, so when waitresses brought a desert we assumed it’s one of those special perks from a restaurant. It was pretty disappointing to see that they actually charged us for it.
We had an 11:30pm reservation after the Super
Bowl. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I was able to get a full Vegan meal without any issues and it was huge and delicious. My husband really enjoyed his NE Clam
Chowder and scallops. Thank goodness it was open late for us and thank goodness they were patient with us jubilant and old Eagles fans.
Very disappointing experience on Super Bowl Sunday. We have always had great experiences and food at Oceanaire in the past so hopefully this is not the norm. We wanted to grab lunch before the game and I confirmed with the restaurant on Facebook that it would be the lunch menu. I didn’t want to eat a full dinner before going to the game. I was told it was the lunch menu but not informed that the “lunch” menu was actually the same as the dinner menu for the whole weekend. We had the shrimp and grits app which was good but the clam chowder, lobster bisque and Caesar salad (closest options to lunch) were all bland. Definitely not a $100 meal and the waitress paid no attention to us after we said we were just there for lunch.
A lot of peaple recommended us this restaurant, but our experience there was far away from pleasant. They seated us 35 min after the reservation time (the hostess was in a very bad mood). It took them 30 min to bring us the soup and they “forgot”about the main entree. The waitress never came to let us know what was happening. She was sitting in a table behind with other customers chatting and laughing. After 45 min (after we finished the soup) finally we were able to catch another waitress and ask for the check and cancel the rest of the order. The manager came to apologize and brought us the food (we returned the food) .We decided to leave...but to be honest we are very dissapointed with the service....They just charge for the drinks (not the soup)
This was the near perfect experience. We arrived early and had a cocktail at the bar. Then had a perfectly timed, perfectly prepared dinner. The server was attentive but not overly "present". They noticed we were celebrating a special occasion, and had a special menu for us, and the server knew it was a special night. Could not have asked for more of a VIP treatment!!!
