We had an amazing dinner. Our server was very personable and gave us great recommendations. We had shrimp cocktail, sourdough and veggie crudités as appetizers, king crab leg, creamed corn and hash browns for dinner, and key lime pie for dessert. Our server de-shelled the crab legs table side. Everything was fresh and delicious. We finished the night with port, sparkling rose and key lime pie. Our server and supporting staff were very attentive, and we wanted for nothing. Wonderful night.
We had the best time Austin was a great server
Good food! excellent Service. Overall we enjoyed our evening.
Great service, great food, and lovely atmosphere!
Donna was excellent. Very attentive and very kind. Made us feel right at home after a long day of travel!
Thank you for the hospitality, quality food, and great service.
Oceanaire is one of my favourite places to eat in Minneapolis, it never disappoints...
The service is exceptional Always! Farrah our server was phenomenal, informative, helpful with a great personality which made for an amazing evening.
The seafood, wine unbelievable!!!!
This was my first time there and it was great! My ex-husband and another family member treated me and our son for Mother's Day. The food was amazing and our server was awesome! We had such an enjoyable time. I will definitely be coming back so I can try something else on the menu! Thank you!
No live lobster available. No pickles on the able as there used to be. Staff seemed stretched and the service was just “ok”. It seems they don’t have there legs under them yet as they return to normal business.
We’ll come back of course and hopefully Oceanaire will return to its former glory.
In a word...terrible! Food was awful, service was slow. Manager kind enough to come over and apologize; but that was about as bad as it gets.
You should NEVER have an experience like that at a “high-end” establishment like Oceanaire. Won’t be coming back!
Maybe it was because it was Mother's Day dinner, but we had a terrible experience. We arrived for a reservation at 6PM and didn't get out of there until almost 9PM - not by our choice. Food took a VERY long time to come out and when it finally did, it was overcooked and somehow cold. Our server was nice, but he wasn't often on the dining room floor and if he was, he seemed preoccupied with other certain tables.
The entrees were very expensive for such lackluster performances. The lobster tail was deflated and chewy, the sides had little flavor, and the ahi tuna I ordered could have been easily picked up from a sushi section at the grocery store. I haven't been to The Oceannaire since it was in the Hyatt MPLS, and I have to say, it has gone WAY downhill. I just don't get the pricing structure - if you're partially paying for ambiance, imagine a loud hotel bar/restaurant and that's about it.
Great food great service chuck was a great server
The food was fantastic!! The service was really good as well.
It was Mother’s Day. Our server was great but she had too many tables after she took our order we didn’t see her again till after the meal was delivered. The food was delicious but the Chilean Sea Bass was pretty skimpy , it couldn’t have been 3 ounces. Deserts were delicious
We’ve taken out many times but hadn’t eaten inside in a while.
Mother’s Day brunch
We were there on Mother's Day, so the slow service was understandable and forgivable. The food was outstanding, especially the three course special which I chose as new England clam chowder, halibut with shrimp Oscar, and Key Lime pie. The shrimp scampi was also done perfectly.
Our table for 6 was wedged against a pillar, nears server station, stairs, bar railing and high traffic area with servers passing on 3 sides constantly. After we mentioned the disruption to our waiter, he asked the wait staff to be aware.
Our dinner was for a 60th Birthday celebration and we reserved in advance. While Brad was a very competent server, the unusual location of our table and not having a white-jacketed waiter, somewhat diminished the dining experience.
The food was excellent, sommelier knowledgeable and steered us to great choices.
It was amazing! The service, from valet parking to saying goodbye and thank you when we left, was amazing. We had a great waiter and ordered everything he recommended. I would get everything we had all over again! Best crab cake appetizer ever! Steak was cooked perfectly, fish amazing, lobster fried rice extra special. And the hash browns... wow!
I know freshness is key. We were seated at 7pm on a Monday night and and hour later our food still wasnt done. Depends how long your willing to wait!
A beautiful space. Gorgeous atmosphere, incredible food and great wine selection. We will definitely be back.
Lovely family birthday celebration. Oceanaire does a nice job making the event special for the individuals.
Great food & service!
Wonderful service, outstanding food as always! Highly recommend Oceanaire...
It was very loud, really too loud. We couldn't hear our group of 4 talking and one person was elderly, so that was too bad.
Our waiter, Doug, was fabulous. His recommendations were spot-on and did not disappoint. Seafood was cooked to perfection and our complementary baked Alaska for our anniversary was a sweet surprise. We loved how quiet it was, too.
We have been to the Oceanaire several times and the food and service were better. The menu options seemed pretty limited. Assumed maybe a seasonal/covid issue. We were there for my wife's birthday and she mentioned that maybe we should have gone to Fogo instead. Maybe our expectations were a little high based off of previous visits.
24th wedding anniversary…. Food and service, amazing!
Family happy to be together at a restaurant INDOORS!
We decided to spend our wedding anniversay dinner at Oceanaire. We were greeted upon entry with Happy Anniversary, even the menu had those words printed on them.
Our server Dain was very attentive and we had great customer service throughout our dinner. We ordered the Wild Alaskan Halibut seared, it was perfect and the filet mignon and shrimp meal also done to our satisfation. The ambience is great for couples.
The biggest surprise is that we were served Baked Alaskan as a guest gift. Thank you to the entire staff.
Once again a beautiful night. Service and food were perfect. Thank you
My other half’s birthday
My favorite new restaurant. Best food in the cities.
Great experience. Ambiance was great as well. Just what we needed for a Saturday night date.
The service was outstanding and the food was delicious!
Racially profiled and felt like we were treated unfairly by management
First, Doug our server was just prefect! He was engaging, informative and helped us have a good evening.
The problem is that the blue points I had were bad. I went home and spent some time with my head in the toilet bowl.
I mentioned it to Doug off to the side, and did not ask for any further help.
The manager, not sure of his name, without my request by the way, came by to check up and after I told him I'm good (I wasn't but did not want to ruin my wives B-day.) He didn't take the hint.
He then spent several minuets defending the food, which did not help, not at all, really ruining my wife's experience and then that became the topic of the evening.
I grew up on the Jersey shore and know when I've eaten BAD shellfish; and the Bluepoint's were bad. Rich Scorza
It’s in Minneapolis... needs a new location. Don’t feel safe
My family and I were there for a birthday celebration and it was great! Although we all couldn't sit together due to the COVID-19 restrictions (we were a part of 6+), we still had a wonderful time. The food and drinks are absolutely delicious! The main courses are a little smaller but the quality is really good. The sides are shareable and make up for the size!
Fantastic service. Amazing food. Perfect for business and/or personal occasions.
Excellent ambience and dining for a nice evening out. The environment was formal but not stiff. Excellent service and delicious food. Will be returning very soon.
Great meal, excellent service by Dane. Delicious food, and a super fun birthday celebration!
