Oceanaire Seafood Room - Minneapolis
Book your next event with us
Have been to the Oceanaire many times in the past and always had a good experience with superb food. Not sure what was amiss this time, but the food just was not a wow this time.
Tiffany did any amazing job
She was amazing
Highly recommend her as your number 1 server
I think it was a little rough with it being V-day, but it most definitely was not up to the standard.
The best and unique
The food was so delicious and fresh. We got a dozen oysters, king crab leg Valentine’s special and the wahoo entree. Everything tasted very fresh and the oysters slid right off, no fork necessary. The crab was also shelled table side which was amazing, I was very happy I didn’t need to do it myself. We cannot wait to return.
Fabulous evening! Food was spot on perfect! Our server, Marinno, was great! Described all our inquiries to the tee. He helped me work with the chef for gluten free options. Started with the oysters rocker feller and crab cake. Crab cake was awesome!! We each had something different. Cod, Monk Fish, Grouper and Scallops all prepared perfectly. We shared the truffle mashed potatoes and the broccolini with hollandaise sauce. The only negative was that the broccolini was not warm. Finished the dinner with a key lime pie and a flourless torte (with a port)! Love this place!
This was one of the best meals/experiences we've had in a long time!
Incredible taste profile as always, but what impressed us the most was how great our server was. Attentive to every detail, it was a night we’ll remember for a long time.
Restaurant was over crowded because they had extra tables for Valentine’s Day. They were crammed in there and waiters kept bumping my chair because they had very little space to walk between tables. Very disappointed In Oceanaire’s decision to cram in so many tables to make an extra buck. It cheapened the experience at what normally is a higher end restaurant. I will not recommend this place when there is a holiday as you are paying more for less
Reserved bar seating and was told we’d need to wait 45 minutes. Then when we finally got seated we were brought to the main dining room. Once server saw we were going to spit dinner her service declined dramatically. I expected better from Oceanaire on Valentines Day
I love Oceanaire but our visit on Valentine’s Day was awful. It took 25 min to get our first drinks. Tables around us were getting theirs and we were still waiting. We ordered our appetizers and entree’s at the same time and the server said she’d stagger them. We waited for 35-40 min and then someone brought our entrees. We said we hadn’t gotten our apps yet and he apologized. Our server brought the apps and I was really disappointed in the Colossal Crab appetizer. Very little crab for $21. When our entrees came, they were cold. I assume they were the same ones from before. We were also unfortunately sat next to a very drunk couple. They totally ruined our night. Not the restaurant’s fault but, by the time the wife started loudly insulting me because she claims I rolled my eyes at her (I didn’t) we just wanted to leave. They were obviously over served. Terrible experience and one that may make me rethink coming there again.
Oceanaire is our go-to place for special occasions. Service here is incredible before, during, and after our meal. I wish I could have had my favorite, Arctic Char, but was not on the Valentine’s day menu. Next time!
Jason took care of us and recognized us as repeat customers. This is a top notch experience and the professionalism is recognized. Food is always superb.
Was our Valentine Dinner, the restaurant has too many tables too close together. It was very hard to walk anywhere without bumping into someone.
Somehow our reservation did not reach the front desk but since it was the night before Valentine's day we were seated and accommodated with no problem. Comparing other seafood restaurants to Oceanaire, I would say their prices are about double what I believe to be good value. However, we did not go to Oceanaire expecting a low-budget meal, we were aware of their prices before making a reservation. I had the chowder, which was good, but on the skimpy side. And, I had two clam cakes which were richly dressed and filling. My partner had broiled fish (don't recall what kind she had) and a large salad. She pronounced them both as very good.
Best seafood and preparation in town that I've found.
Jessica was an engaging, helpful, happy professional waitperson who made our anniversary evening more special than we expected. The scallops were so buttery tender. We shared the seafood salad and the scallops entre, as Jessica suggested. I just the right amount, beautifully presented. Oceanaire is a premier restaurant in any city.
It was quiet and relaxing! Amazing service and food!
Salmon portion was too small. Tasted great. Left hungry.
I loved it! Went for a birthday celebration. One of us was not a seafood fan but had a great filet mignon so they were happy. We tried seafood appetizers, different cocktails, different seafood main course options, sides and dessert. They even provide something right away on the table for the famished. It's pricey but was a real treat.
Awesome food and service. Will definitely be back
Fantastic dining experience... a true joy! I can’t wit to return.
The service and employees were wonderful!! The food was not. Food was under-seasoned, cold and slow. Extremely expensive for what you get. I had scallops that were tasteless, barely warm and very mushy. Hopefully, other people’s experience is/ be much better
Raw oysters were amazing; Bronzino was delicious cooked with just a bit of seasoning. Also ordered the combination plate of lobster, scallops and shrimp which was wonderful as well. Service was great and we really enjoyed our evening.
We have been here about 10 times. Always top notch. Justin has been a requested waiter and never disappoints. The place is classy yet casual, the food has always been very good. It may be a bit pricey but if you know that going in you won't regret it.
Best seafood - shrimp cocktail, crab cakes and calamari - just to start. Amazing cocktails. Exceptional service. Love this place!
I am a seafood nut from Maryland and it's definitely the best in Minnesota. The crabcakes remind me of Maryland. Donna our waitress was outstanding.
We had a great evening out! Very fun, all of our food was great, and great friendly service.
I haven't been in a couple of years but wanted to take my wife for her birthday. Atmosphere was nice and the service was great but the food was mediocre at best. Very disappointing compared to the way that The Oceanaire Seafood Room food used to be. I guess that's all I can really say
I had a wonderful date night at this establishment. We were greeted and seated right away. The staff was courteous and knowledgeable of the menu options of the day. The food was promptly and well prepared. I will definitely be return.
Excellent seafood and attentive service! I'm always impressed with the consistency of their food. Always top notch! Best crab cakes we have ever had.
Awesome food and service!!
The service was exceptional and the food was delicious! Our favorite place in the twin cities!
I would give the Oceanaire a hundred stars if I could!! Our food was excellent and our server/bartender Tony was out of this world!! That man knows his stuff!! This was my 3rd time at this establishment (my fiance has taken me there for 3 out of my last 4 birthdays, which is today) and I can't wait to go back. The Shrimp and Grits is in the top 5 best things I've ever eaten, the Lobster Bisque is dreamy and the Dynamite Crab with the Scallops was divine. 10/10 would HIGHLY recommend!!
Great food and amazing service. Tables are too close together and the room is open so it gets noisy
Appetizer great. Entrees tasteless.
We love it there ! It’s a great place to celebrate something special !
Awesome server, named Justin!!
Great food and amazing service. Can’t wait to go back for our anniversary.
The food was spectacular but the service was just amazing.
