Excellent menu. Creative dishes. Great sides. I had the plain grilled swordfish that was thick, cooked perfectly and delicious. My guest had a classic Diver Sole, also excellent. The Brussel Sprouts as a side were perfect

The service and atmosphere were good and the food was tasty. However, the food is over priced resulting in poor value.

First time that my wife dined at Oceanaire and the dining experience was phenomenal! ALL facets of our visit were incredible from the moment we walked in the door!
If there were 10 stars I would give Oceanaire all 10!
Kudos to such a fine restaurant! You folks made our evening and a very special 41st Anniversary celebration!
We WILLbe back again very soon!

We had a 7:30 reservation for 5 people, two showed @ 7:20 and the balance at 7:35. They gave our table away and told us to get a drink and they would seat us right away. The bar is basically dysfunctional as the person in front of me waited for 15 minutes and the bar tender would not acknowledge him, bar staff is too small for the size of the place. Eventually they came over to tell us they were getting our table together, after 10 minutes we approached the hostess and she said they were waiting for us to come to them. We were literally 5 feet away!! Once to the table, the first drinks took at least 5 minutes to get. But I will say our server was very good, pleasant person and reasonably attentive.

We make it a point to have dinner at the Oceannaire in Indianapolis when traveling from Florida to one or two Colts games every year, and for some other occasions. There are generally 6 to 10 in our party. We have always found it to have great food and great service.

On this rare occasion our server let us down, but the attentive eye of Manager Sheryl Parks righted the wrong and made us feel like valued customers. Sheryl knows who you are and can review your dining history in her computer.

This is an ace-high establishment with ace-high management! We highly recommend if you want a first class dining experience. We will be back!

My fresh grilled fish was “melt in your mouth” good. Don’t skip the hash brown potatoes “a la Oceanaire.” They are amazing. We also loved the Brussels sprouts—delicious with bacon and seasoning. Mmmm! Server was knowledgeable about all the different fish and preparations and recommended great wine options. Quiet and romantic atmosphere.

The service was incredible. The entrees were just right in portion as well as presentation and taste. The waitress was extremely helpful in navigating the menu and made numerous suggestions even ordering our dessert without our knowledge. A fantastic surprise of Baked Alaska which was perfect even though my wife is allergic to chocolate but found the pumpkin ice cream and flamed marshmallow delightfully decedent.

This was one of the best restaurants I’ve eaten at in downtown Indianapolis. The food was great the staff was very helpful and friendly. The waiters were great my glass never went empty and they did not bombarded us with food all once instead they spaced it out so we didn’t feel rushed.

As always, Oceannaire was a great evening. Food was prepared as my guests chose - simple or with some quite interesting and flavorful preparations. Service was the best - prompt but not lurking. We were given great explanations and suggestions. Definitely a "let's go again" place.

Oceanaire Seafood Room is incredible.
The menu is fantastic and we will be back.
We dine out quite a bit in downtown Indy
and Oceanaire would hit the top two on our list.

Thank you so much for the opportunity.

My biggest problem with Oceanaire is the value for the price. Reviews said this place was expensive (three dollar signs) but since it was our 20th anniversary we decided to splurge a bit. We don't get out a lot and rarely without children in tow so we were looking forward to a nice meal.

We sat in the bar before being seated and looked over the menu while having a drink. I thought the prices were a bit high but the meals sounded delicious and seemed to include two sides. so overall it was doable. When we got to our table the server explained that even though the menu said the entree comes with risotto and asparagus it's only a taste or a tease. Everything is a la carte! So the $45 fish is just a piece of fish with a dollop of risotto and one spear of asparagus. We should have left but didn't.

From that point on the service was poor. We didn't get our starter and the wine arrived when we were half way through the entree. I feel that once the server realized we weren't big spenders that she couldn't be bothered with us.

My advise to Oceanaire is to make it more clear what you get for the price because it's misleading. Price wise it should show up as at least 4 dollar signs.

3 of 4 entrees were wonderful. Service was impeccable. I had indicated in the rsvp that we were celebrating a special occasion and admit being disappointed that this was not acknowledged in any way. We were celebrating/appreciating the 30year anniversary of my husband’s kidney transplant. Don’t ask if special occasion if don’t plan to acknowledged even verbally.

Went for the Halloween special, three courses and a bottle of wine/ $60 for two people. You advertised this deal, you sent me an e-mail about it. If you didn't want to serve it, why offer it?! Once our server knew we were there for the $60 deal, he wanted us to order everything at once so he wouldn't have to come back to our table. We felt rushed...it was a Tuesday evening, Halloween....the place was not busy so there was no need to turn the table over. First two courses weren't bad.... One of the dessert choices was a salted caramel sundae....which I ordered. What was presented to me was two scoops of vanilla ice cream with a handful of what seemed to be chocolate cake. No sauce, no nothing else....and certainly nothing resembling salted caramel. Again, it was impossible to get our server's attention to inquire about what exactly made this a 'sundae'....but I was over it by that time. I ask again, if your establishment isn't on board with customers actually ordering from a special menu that you created/advertised/promoted, why offer it at all?

We visited for the special Halloween menu. Service was great, selections on the special menu covered all the bases. Portions were surprisingly large and very tasty. Dinner for two with two appetizers, two main courses, two deserts and a bottle of wine for $60. Pretty hard to beat! This is our favorite seafood stop in Indy, specials or not!

The seafood was outstanding & the service was just as good. I checked yes I would recommend a friend, but not many could afford to dine here. Just 2 of us with no cocktails was $265 before tip. We did have a dozen oysters, appetizers, soup's, salad's, and our entrée & a single desert. Overall a nice dining experience but it wont be a regular stop for us.

It had been about 5 years since my last dinner at Oceanaire in Indianapolis. The ambience is lovely and the host/hostess were gracious as due to rain/traffic we were about 30 minutes late. We still had a great booth. The server was nice - though pacing seemed off and a little slow. The New England Clam Chowder was what I really wanted - however the ubiquitous bacon made that and a number of other tasty sounding dishes impossible as I do not eat bacon. My companions truly enjoyed the Chilean Sea Bass and the chicken fried Lobster. The vegetable soup was very lovely, however it was very heavy and I only had half. Grilled octopus - terrific and my one real disappointment was that when I requested to have extra romaine in the caesar salad (I did not have any croutons and very little dressing) and I did not ask for any of the usual accompaniments that accompany the octopus, I still received a bare handful of romaine. The grilled asparagus were terrific as were the whipped potatoes.
This is a lovely venue and a little more attention and follow through on the specifics and the dinner would have been a truly memorable evening.
