Great food and great server. A little slow to get to table but over all it was very good.
The foodvery good. Had the crab for an app. Wife got the crab cakes wonderful. I got the crab pasta very good. Mother in law got the dove fish really good. Server Brandon was excellent
Our meals were excellently flavored with a variety of spices and the oysters were extremely fresh and tasty with incredible cocktails-unfortunately no room for desert-but next time we'll bring the kids and that won't be a problem
We eat at Oceanaire on a regular basis. The last few times the service has been incredibly slow. The Servers are always good but the food takes a really long time to get to your table. They were only about six tables in the whole restaurant and it took over 45 minutes to get our food. It’s just incredibly disappointing when you spend so much money on dinner. I had the 10 ounce filet and it was marginal. It had a lot of fat in it. I never want to complain but I was incredibly disappointed
Love the atmosphere! It's in a portion of a historic department store building. The food is amazing and so was our service!
Staff were very accommodating and food was incredible
Such a wonderful experience! Excellent service and food. We can’t wait to go back.
It’s our go to sea food place whenever we are in Indy. Never disappointed!!
This was our first visit and we were impressed with the wide selection of seafood available. We tried the calamari, crab cakes and mahimahi and it was all very fresh and beautifully presented. Our server was prompt and attentive. We will definitely go back to the Oceanaire Seafood Room on our next trip to Indianapolis.
We had a lovely dinner for our third anniversary. Our server suggested the lobster tail, dynamite style. It was delicious. I am glad I branched out and followed her suggestion. The Baked Alaska for dessert was AMAZING. We enjoyed the quiet ambiance, and exceptional service. We did not have to ask for anything while we were dining. An exceptional dining experience.
This was our first time at Oceanaire. Overall we really enjoyed the experience. The waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly. The food was really good for the most part. We ordered the crab cakes and they were amazing. We added a chopped salad and it was good too. We also added the lobster mac & cheese for a side and it was ok. The cheese was super watery. If it would of been a thicker richer cheese sauce I would of enjoyed it so much more. Plus the price was too high for the side for how it tasted. We also ended with the Creme Brulee and it was just not up to par. It tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge way to long and had become to gelatinous. The top was burnt and left a horrible after taste. We love Creme Brulee so when i get a bad one I know. We still really enjoyed most of our meal and the experience so i chose to give my review a 4 stars.
It was my boyfriend and I’s first time there and I will definitely be back. From start to finish we felt welcome and important. The quality service and the quality of the food made it worth every penny. It was a great initial experience.
Great service great food great. Will go again
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Food as always did not disappoint. We had the scallops and they were tender and delicious. Also had the fried lobster and I will definitely get this again. This is a place we always enjoy visiting and the best part is they have the escargot appetizer we love!!
The room was so dark it was very hard to even read the menu. The food was OK, lobster tail was kind of small for the amount of money spent. It should’ve been a little larger.
Excellent experience with a magnificent menu. The prices are high, but this is what you should expect from high-end dining. Andre offered impeccable service and made my birthday feel special.
Went for New Year's Eve, our service at the bar was a little delayed but at the table it was great! Ordered the scallops for entree with the baked Alaska, so so good.
Are experience was amazing our server Jessica was so attentive to us. It was a couple of us first time she explain the menu to us as well told us a dish that wasn’t on the menu that was excellent the fried chicken lobster a must try. Jessica made are dining experience so lovely and we greatly appreciate it as well the food was amazing!!!!!
The food was fantastic. Second to none, as it always has been. Service was also outstanding, and could not have been better.
I only have one complaint. We were seated at a table upstairs, which is not a problem. But the table was up against a corner, and it was extremely small for two people. There was not enough room in the corner to back up both chairs at the same time to get up from the table. We had to move the table in order for us to get up one at a time. Both my wife and I are avid runners, so physique was not the problem here.
The food was great. It is a small thing, but I liked the complimentary veggie plate. The server knew the menu well. The atmosphere was perfect for new years eve.
Went here for dinner on NYE. Food was awesome and service was outstanding. One of my favorite places to go in Downtown Indy.
wonderful place to eat. Ate upstairs which glad for was quieter there. Service was outstanding as well. Will be coming back.
My wife and I chose Oceanaire for NYE after attending the afternoon Pacer game. Arrived a little early, but was taken care of immediately. The waiter was very helpful and attentive. We had cocktails and shared the shrimp cocktail. Very tasty and the sauce very manageable. My wife had the shrimp and I had the Haddock. Both entrees were well prepared and plenty of food. Also shared the wedge salad and cream corn. Both very good. We’ll definitely return.
Celebrated my birthday. Loved the birthday dessert!
NYE dinner at the Oceanaire was perfect! Meal was delicious, our server Michael was great and made stellar recommendations.
The wait staff was knowledgeable of menu items as well as offered suggestions for our likings. The service was timely and the food was delicious!
Absolutely perfect birthday dinner. The service was just right and the food was exquisite! Two hours of perfection.
It was wonderful from ambiance to the service ! 5 stars !
Expected more and was disappointed. Been there 4 times in the past. Crab whipped potatoes were undercooked , crab was rubbery. Asparagus was tough. Crab cakes were underseasoned. For this much money , I would expect more.
Wonderful experience celebrating my wife’s birthday
I love Oceanaire, but they do keep it really dark in there and it would be nice to be able to see the amazing food you are eating. Love all their unique entree options, the service was wonderful, and enjoyed the special touches to make my husbands birthday special.
We had great service that was given by Julian! They made our 10th Anniversary special!
For a $200 dinning experience, I would have preferred a warmer and more ornate atmosphere with soothing beautiful music rather than dark wall, dim lighting, a view of the parking garage across the street, and up tempo jazz. Not sure who they are trying to appeal to; perhaps not the older generation of which I am one. I wouldn't spend that amount of money (no alcohol purchased), for that particular type of experience. The food was, however, very good.
Are server was excellent and friendly, we felt very welcomed and relaxed. Jose made sure that the food was too our satifaction. We will return and request Jose.
Server was not up to the usual Oceanaire standards. We were going to stay for another drink and chose not to.
Food was excellent. Wait service needs work. We had to ask twice for wine and water refills. We also asked twice for bread but never got any.
I found a long hair in my food as I was taking a bite. Needless to say this ruined our dining experience.
We eat at Oceanaire quite often and it’s usually amazing, however today was quite disappointing. The Alaskan Crab leg was overcooked, the king crab claw was very small for the $30 price tag, the fries for the fish and chips was old and cold and had to be remade, the service was very slow - for the price we paid, it was a disappointment.
Great experience as alway. We dined on Christmas Day and my wife wanted a pasta that wasn’t on the menu that day and the chef made it anyways. Superb service and well executed menu items thank you
One of our all-time favorites! Great service, great food. We drive 120 miles one way because it is worth the effort! Get the “angry” lobster for sure.
