Oceanaire Seafood Room - Denver
Book your next event with us
We had an awesome anniversary here! The service was really good, they even printed out personalized menus for us to take as a momentous. The food was fantastic and I got to have my very first Baked Alaska! Overall it was a success!
We had a very nice family meal after seeing Anastasia at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, but even thought I had seen the menu, it hadn't registered how expensive it would be ($360 for 8 people--two children). The service, however, was excellent.
Always the best fresh seafood in town - Shrimp Cocktail, Crab Cocktail, Crab Cakes and Simple broiled Halibut were all outstanding! Our server - San's service was impeccable - friendly, attentive and professional. Limoncello Gimlet cocktail is a summer favorite - one of the best cocktails around! For my birthday - the Baked Alaska was a perfect treat. Moderate noise level and great background music make for a pleasant and relaxing ambiance. One of our favorite Denver dining spots especially for pre-theater!
Thomas and his team provide exceptional
Service and amazing food. The quality of the fish is superb.
We’ve had some great - and some not so great - dining experiences at Oceanaire. As a pre-theatre dining spot it’s hard to beat, but the restaurant does such volume between 5 and 7 pm that I find a lot depends on your server. This trip we lucked out - Samantha stayed on top of things throughout, never making us feel either rushed or neglected, and she had a few demanding tables in her section.
Great food , amazing wait staff, Alan was awesome very knowledgeable and had great suggestions.
The service was somewhat slow. Needed more waiters to serve the number of diners.
Great ambiance. Fantastic service. Waitstaff very knowledgable. The food was very good but not fantastic. For the price, the food did not match the cost.
All around this was a highly disappointing experience. The front of the house was polite, efficient, and definitely service minded. The food, however, was kindly described at disappointing especially considering the price. The scallops and crab cakes we had were neither particularly fresh or well prepared (both were under seasoned and over cooked). I had been given a gift card which covered about 1/3 of the bill and I still walked out feeling like I had been ripped off.
Prices are too high and no side dishes included with the entrees, disappointing.
Another great dinner at Oceanaire! The service was excellent and the Red King Crab was fabulous!
Great date night spot. The food was amazing, and the service was incredible.
Very nice place in a very nice location. Right across the street from the 4 Seasons, Denver Performing Arts Center and the Tiatro Hotel. The service is excellent and the food wonderful.
The server was able to provide us with an abundance of information in regards to he menu, which I appreciated. We were catching a show afterward and he told us not to worry about the time, and kept his eye on the clock for us. The fish was divine, and cooked perfectly! Only wish the naked fish came with more than just the fish.
The food was very good but 4 scallops for $39 & an additional $10+ on a side dish was ridiculous. A meal with a drink, side & dessert will run you around $100 per person & you'll probably be hungry afterwords. I would only recommend this restaurant to a friend if they are OK spending a ton of money on not much food.
Anniversary dinner. Started off a bit rough as we went to bar to have a cocktail before being seated. Waited almost 25 minutes for an order that never came. The bartender finally circled back as the waiter was slammed and had forgotten about us. Thankfully we got James as our waiter at our table and he truly saved the day. It was a wonderful experience due in large part to his making our evening special.
Branzino and Barramundi entrees were fantastic! Servers were friendly, efficient and knowledgable about the menu. Enjoyable evening!
The service was the best I have experienced in Denver. From the moment you walk in to the place they are right on top of taking care of you.
The food was also excellent. Both the Scallops and the Halibut was cooked to perfection.
I will most definitely be coming back.
The clam chowder and warm sourdough bread started off the meal top notch! We had an attentive server in the beginning and then the restaurant got incredibly busy. Our meal took a long time to receive, the side order of fries (which we did order after placing our entree order) didn't come until just before dessert. They were apologetic and comp'd the fries. The entries were creative but somehow missed the mark with neither of our fish having much taste. The dessert, a long waited for key lime pie, was unfortunately pretty tasteless.
Our biggest issue was the price of the dinner compared to the taste of the entrees. There was creativity, we had delicious starter courses and we each had a nice glass of Cabernet. But the price of the meal was expensive for what we got for dinner.
Excellent food, atmosphere, and service. Getting our meal took an hour due to the restaurant being full. Otherwise the experience was perfect.
Crowded prior to shows at DCPA across the street, so service was slower than usual.
Yes and no. It’s a nice experience for a special event but over priced for average food.
It was a birthday dinner and was excellent !!
Quiet setting with great food fresh and friendly service
I love Oceanaire. I was suprised they didn't bring out bread or crudités without asking for them. I ordered the shrimp and grits. They changed the recipie to my dismay. I ordered the grilled softshell seafood. It was great! I love that their menu is different everyday.
Love this place and Brad does a great job managing!
The whole evening was wonderful. The food and service was outstanding. Best Copper River Sockeye Salmon I have ever had. We will definitely go back again.
Succulent shelled 2lb Maine lobster- Divine! Truffle fries were delicious, oysters top notch.
We like the special offer of a 2lb Lobster for $20
I had the what they called a two pound lobster. Unfortunately it had been shelled and returned to the shell less the claws and the roe. Not what I was expecting. Kind of disappointing. It was very good, just not what I was expecting or what they showed in the picture.
Waiter Mike was excellent. His knowledge of the menu items was most helpful.
We usually love Oceannaire - mostly because they have our preferences in their computer and the service is usually excellent. However, because it was a cloudy evening, the restaurant was really dark (we don't go very often in the winter because it is always too dark). My favorite salad is excellent but it has gotten more and more expensive and is way too big for anyone to finish if they are going to eat what they order for dinner. So at least half my salad got thrown out. We order your fries and asked that they be plain (no truffle oil or cheese - truffle oil upsets my stomach - and that has never been a problem.) We were told that you no longer did shoe string fries - my husband's favorites - but that they were thicker. We said we'd try them as long as we could get them plain and we wanted them hot and crispy. They were not only not crispy but they definitely tasted of truffle oil. I ate one. My husband said he'd try them but asked for ketchup but by the time we got the ketchup, the fries were cold so he ate about 3. We told several people. No one seemed to care. I also ordered the two pound lobster which came completely shelled. That would have been nice except it didn't say that and my favorite part of the lobster was the roe in the shell. Also, the lobster wasn't hot and the butter served with it was also cold. My husband ate most of mine and had an upset stomach for the rest of the evening. We will come back, but not for awhile and we won't order the lobster or fries again.
We arrived at 6:30 and only about four other diners were there. It took approximately ten minutes to get a drink order. We ordered escargot which was tasteless. The menu is essentially ala carte. A four ounce filet and three shrimp is $44. Add a $12 side of asparagus and a $14 dollar bottle of wine, double that with a second diner who had a $57 ala carte steak and the bill was $200. Very disappointing - especially after reading reviews. We don't mind a $200 bill for exceptional food and service. Unfortunately, we found neither. I hope that our experience was anomoly, but I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.
The food was fresh and tasteful but portions were too small for the price.
Mussels were not cleaned well enough. Too much grit.
Great Service, food was fantastic! Crab legs and Salmon were amazing!
The Oceannaire never disappoints. My wife and I dine here about 6 times a year when we come to see a show. This place spoils you like no other. The food is magnificent and the staff is as friendly as can be. If you want to feel special, this is the place to dine. Our server the past few times has been Tomas. His knowledge of the menu and our desires is incredible. We asked him this time to pick our entire meal. He could not have been more on the money. He suggested the tempura shrimp for an appetizer and the swordfish and salmon, with a side of peppers for our meal. He insisted on a special make of the peppers and they were mouth watering. The entire meal was amazing. It is so nice to have a meal that is the appropriate size and the focus is on the quality. I have never had a better meal. thank you Tomas for making us feel so special when we come. The best is the baked Alaska. Each time, the ice cream is different and it is exciting to find out each time what it is. This time blueberry and custard. Are you kidding111 So good!!. It is not a cheap meal but worth every penny...and then some.
Outstanding experience. The service was attentive without being obsequious, the food was exceptional. I have to compliment all the staff, from the host, to our waiter and his supporting staff, to the manager. Oceanaire exceeded our wildest expectations and we will be back regularly.
Oceanaire works to get lots of little touches that go a long way. We were celebrating our anniversary and as the host sat us he wished us a happy anniversary but when we sat down we noticed our menu also said happy anniversary on it. Tomas was a great server who was very attentive without feeling overbearing or like our meal was being interrupted. The food tasted great and the menu was diverse and unique.
I had high hopes for trying Oceanaire after reading other reviews on Open Table. We couldn’t have been more disappointed. It started with the Tempura Rock Shrimp appetizer, which was too spicy for 2 in my party to eat.
My daughter ordered the Florida Swordfish, black & bleu and it was terrible. I tried a piece and it was so mushy I couldn’t eat it. Swordfish is supposed to be firm.
My wife’s Halibut was so, so. My Shellfish Mixed Grill was over cooked.
The lobster tail and shrimp were like rubber.
In hindsight we should have sent it all back, but we waited a long time to get our meals initially and had a tight window to dine and get to our show.
Our bill for 3 with a couple drinks was over $300, so I surely expected better quality food and service.
I’m in sales, so I take clients out to dine a couple times per week.
This is the first restaurant review I’ve written, so that should tell you how bad it was.
