It was nice to spend my birthday and have a free cake.
But my grandson kids menu chicken fingers was stale , over cooked and dry.
He tasted it and didn’t eat it while in the restaurant.
I had it boxed and I tried it when we got home.
No wonder he couldn’t eat it. It was not fresh.
The food was fabulous. Our waiter was fantastic! Will definitely go again.
The mussels were either closed or there weren’t any in the shell, ended up being more of a half portion. My salmon was overcooked and along with the other 2 meals at our table lacked taste. The best meals on the table came from the kids menu. For the money you spend, go to Elways or The Edge. It was a big night out for our family, dinner and a play. And the dinner was disappointing especially for the price.
We both thoroughly enjoyed the meal
Nice setting so convenient to DCPA that we four tried it out. Good ambiance and service but only okay food at really high prices. A cocktail that was utterly forgettable and outrageous. Won't be back...
I have been coming here for 9 years with my daughter for our annual Nutcracker date night. We have dinner before the show, and come back after the show for dessert. The wait staff, hostess, bar staff, and management have always been incredibly kind and helpful. I have offered to try a different restaurant every year, but my daughter insists on coming back each year, and I don't argue. We had the octopus appetizer, the Iceland salmon, and the cod "shrimp louie" this year, and it was all fresh and delicious.
Not a good experience. Service and ambiance was bad. Waited for everything.....including the check.
However the food was excellent.
Can’t go back.
This was the first time I was disappointed with Oceanaire. The staff seemed to be missing a beat. Server forgot to get my sisters order. Had to ask 3 times for more bread. There were 4 of us and first bread out was sliced for 3.
My scallops were not warm on the mixed grill and the lobster and shrimp were barely warm.
The shrimp tempura app was amazingly good
We had a great experience at Oceanaire. Our waiter, James, I think, was fantastic. He was very solicitous and conscientious of our time so we could make it a play in time. I was, however, appalled at how poorly the sidewalk was maintained several days after a big snowstorm. We had to climb over a mound of icy snow to get from the street to the sidewalk. There was still snow on the sidewalk and it was quite slippery. No obvious attempt to clear much more that 1 swipe of a shovel days before. I will admit this was not only at just Oceanaire but the whole theater district.
Nice place, food is not compatible with price
Very good Thanksgiving meal No regrets
my son and I went for thanksgiving, . we are usually in Florida eating seafood and this was the next best thing ! The service was great ! The food was amazing !
Jason especially, and Erica, were outstanding, as were the bussers. Very attentive and accommodating for every request. Although I felt a starch or green should come with an entrée, the side selection was adequate and not exceptionally overpriced. We are definitely going to return soon.
Always a fine dining experience because of an extensive menu, doting service, plush atmosphere and wonderful food.
The food quality and selection was fantastic. The fish was a good as anything we found on the Atlantic coast last summer! The entire staff was attentive and very cognizant of our need to be out on time for a theater performance. (Valet parking by the restaurant front door and keeping our car until after the theater was outstanding.) Will go back again for the outstanding seafood selection and quality. The wine selection was great.
Took a friend here after a trip to the Opera. We had a reservation somewhere else but at the last minute changed our minds and got right in. Service and food was outstanding! Staff was quick but friendly knowing that the Opera was slated for several times that afternoon. Will definitely be coming back to Oceanaire!
Atmosphere was great and the food and service very good; not great, unfortunately. Minor things like a slow start to service and poor location in restaurant, couple that with a under temp steak; I did not mind but my wife couldn't share in the enjoyment of the filet. Once service started, it was great though and very engaged. Look forward to visiting again.
We made reservations for dinner before the Phantom of the Opera at the Buell Theatre. We were pleasantly surprised at the ease of the valet parking to start our evening off. We enjoyed 3 full courses and were finished within 2 hours and had time to spare to make it to our seats that the theatre. Our server gave us a great explanation of the menu and highlighted her favorites. She had no problems answering our silly questions about parts we did not understand. The portions were very generous and the seasoning was intense on each plate! We will be back
The chicken fried lobster was amazing!!! My mom liked the fresh halibut. The crab cakes were amazing but at $20 each cake I will skip them next time.
First time visit. Loved the food, service and ambience.
The quality of the food is not in line with the prices. This restaurant ranks with the best of Denver by price but definitely not in terms of its food.
Great food and service. All the servers were extremely friendly and helpful. They all seemed to assist any table that needed something. Brad, one of the managers, was outstanding! Amanda, our server, was one of the best servers we have ever had. Try the truffle fries that were excusite.
Blackened Salmon on caramelized onions with blue cheese on top was very good. Clam chowder is among the best I have ever tried.
Great restaurant. Wife and I went to Phantom at the Buell, service was very cognizant of our plans with getting food out.
Food and service was excellent but it was too cold in the restaurant for a winter evening.
Great food and service with ambience!
Always love coming here for special occasions. This is where I took my wife on our first date and we come back at least once a year for our anniversary and spur of the moment Hangry moments.
The waiters & ambiance is a 5 star. Food I would give it a solid 4 stars (escargot needs a pinch of salt) and I ordered the seafood mix for $48 dollars (medium lobster tail, 3 pieces of shrimp, 2 large scallops and 2 well-cooked asparagus) - the value is not at all there.....I’m a chef by the way. The sourdough bread is on point however we really did not care for the uninspiring vegetable crudités.
Would I go back? Sure! But I think I’ll skip the seafood mix because I was still hungry after dinner
Service was not good. Food was not good. Won't go back.
Valet is terrible here
Highly recommended. Everything was flawless.
High end. Expensive. We eat hear 3-4 times/year and love it.
This place survives because of the theater crowd. I decided on Oceanaire b/c of convenient location. Food was mediocre and overpriced. The fish i ordered was supposed to be pan seared with just lemon and olive oil. When it came, there appeared to be a yellow sauce drizzled over it. I’m not sure what was in the food, but i was so parched the entire evening and throughout the night. I couldn’t drink enough water. Fish was mushy. Asparagus was meh. Service was harried and frenetic. I didn’t feel relaxed. Not worth it
Food was just fair and not worth the price. This is the second time we've been here and both experiences were sub-par.
The oysters were very fresh and my scallops were amazing. My wife's halibut and our shared fillet were over done. (The staff did replace the fillet with one that was cooked very well). This is our go to restaurant, and we've never had a problem with the food before. We will be back; we chalk it up to a reality check. we are all human.
This place never disappoints! Wonderful ambiance for all occasions. I spent my birthday dinner here, and they printed off a special menu that had my name on it. They made me feel very special. Service is always amazing, and the food is to die for. I’m gluten free, and they make a fresh loaf of gluten free bread for me. Amazing!
The clam chowder is the best. I highly recommend it. I had the fried lobster it was good but it was too much breading, so I peeled it off. Their complementary salad was also excellent.
Service was disaster. Waiter was rude cranky and unresponsive. Took 30 minutes! from ordering drinks and the drinks arriving. Many of the food items were forgotten and had to remind waiter over again about missing items. Second round of drinks took another 30 minutes and the waiter told one quest her wine was coming but he couldn’t carry it. We were in the cocktail table area, the restaurant was not full. When the manager realized what was happening briefly stepped in to help with the mismanaged food but then left and we never received any compensation for the rude poor service. All 4 quests eat often and we’re all stunned at the incompetence and lack of actual service. Will not go back again. And will never recommend. We were polite not demanding and tried to give him the benefit of the doubt (everyone has a bad day) but that level of a venue and pricing should not have to excuse.
Service was great and timely. Food was fresh and well prepared. Appreciated the way the staff worked together to make our experience outstanding.
James and his team made our 21 year old birthday daughter and us ( parents) feel like royalty and created an everlasting beautiful memory !!!❣️❣️❣️
The food , service and setting were impeccable
Thank you again ...
The Henbas
Great service and the food was very creative. Chicken fried lobster? Who does that? Glad they did. It was amazing.
The food was excellent! The Scallops were cooked perfectly and fried mushroom were also well cooked. Not overly battered. Overall, great atmosphere and will be back.
Always a delight to dine at Oceanaire as we know the service, the table setting, the food will be top notch.
We having been dining at the Oceanaire for many years. We first discovered the restaurant in Minneapolis while staying at the Hyatt. Since then we have move to Denver and now have been enjoying the restaurant here for many years. Its a great way to start date night, we highly recommend.
