One of my favorite restaurants in DC! I eat there at least once everytime I am in DC!
Everything was great except the noise level. Food was fantastic.
We took out of town guests to get best crab cakes in DC and no one was disappointed.
This was my first time and I must say it was exceptional from beginning to end we will most definitely going there again!!!
The fish is always fresh and light; not hidden by sauces. Service is great
Was SHOCKED At the half price charge for a $14 Baked Alaska which we did NOT order. One would assume when it arrived at our table beautifully presented it was a gift from the establishment.
I’ve been dining at Oceanaire for years. It’s perfect for special occasions or just a quiet dinner for two. The food was delicious as usual.
Love the guys at the bar. They are so much fun to talk to. Great, attentive service.
Great seafood. This is a higher end restaurant $$ and the service and quality lived up to the price. The scallops were amazing, the grilled seafood dinner fabulous. We also split the huge Baked Alaska dessert and it is a taste of heaven. The shrimp and grits appetizer was also very good.
The atmosphere was nice. The food was good. I would have rated higher if it didn’t take 20 mins to bring our checks after we asked for them.
The food was good. But I was shocked when our bill came and the chilean sea bass my husband ordered at the suggestion of the waiter was $66! 😮 I asked the waiter if the price was right. I thought maybe he had double charged us by mistake. It's our fault for not asking. But I admit the fish was delicious.
Once again, Oceanaire hits on all cylinders. Great food and service. Never disappoints.
This restaurant is very noisy. The seating arrangement is very uncomfortable, the service was very slow, the table was not ready at the time reserved and the prices were way too high for what we got.
The meal and service was excellent, though a little pricey. Our server, Yanigni, was wonderful with great recommendations and such a pleasant smile and personality. It was Friday night, with large groups of graduates and prom-goers, so the noise level was overwhelming. Don't know how to fix that but it was difficult to talk together at our table for the din in the room. The dessert sorbet was refreshing and a great treat with the rain and humidity. The scallops were fresh and tender, sides are family style and all delicious. Other than the deafening noise, it was a wonderful dinner, and I usually wouldn't say anything about noise. This was really loud.
Always perfect. Service attentive yet unobtrusive. Food delicious every time. Comfortable booths. Not too loud. I typically order the seared sesame tuna. Can’t be beat. Oysters always a treat. Sides are yummy. I love Oceannaire.
My first experience at Oceanaire. The food and wait staff were wonderful. I will definitely come back again.
The place has a very classy clean appearance and we had a private room I was quite pleased with the service. Our waiter took care of our every need thoroughly enjoy the experience. Had been there before and it has always been fabulous, thanks for a memorable Mother's day.
Celebrated Mother’s Day with my Mom. The food was delicious! The service was impeccable! The chef made shrimp scampi as a special order for me, as it was not on the special menu. My mom loved her seafood platter! This is her favorite place for crabcakes.
Seating service was not good, I had a party of 10 for a special occasion. 8 of the 10 participants were present at the restaurant, the staff refused to seat us until the entire party was present. We had to wait another half hour to be seated even though we had more than 50% of the party available. I will not visit this establishment in the future. The waiter was great.
Awesome food, service, and wine selection. Expensive but worthwhile.
A lovely meal. Our server gave us a good overview of the menu and was discreetly attentive. I love the quiet atmosphere. Too many restaurants go for the noisy vibe, which bugs me.
The staff went out of the way to make my mom feel special for her 75th Birthday. Always loved the food and service but today sealed the deal. Customer for life!
Very attentive service and excellent food. Definitely recommend
Always a wonderful dining experience. Celebrated my fiance's birthday with dinner for two! Chocolate cherry baked alaska was scrumptious!!
Terrific service! Not hurried and very pleasant all around!
I always enjoy the ambiance, the food, and the service.
Excellent service. Great selection.
Everything was VERY good. But yet nothing was “to die for”.
Great atmosphere, knowledgeable friendly staff, excellent food prepared well.
Fresh fish, yes. But ridiculously expensive. With the exception of a piece of grilled Bronzini gor $39, no fish main course for less than $50. The noise level is quite high making it difficult to carry on a converdation. The service wad non attentive and slow (two times a reason standing alone not to go back.
Terrible waiter. Got many things wrong. But great manager
I like this place for special occasions. I took my mom to a show and having dinner here before was a great prelude to the entertainment for the evening.
Appetizer: Char broiled octopus was the best I ever had and since octopus is my favorite appetizer I order it a lot. I think that the peppers in the sauce made all the difference.
Main course: Seared Chile seabass was prepared Asian style with bok-choy and mushrooms, and was also very good. My wife had shellfish mixed grill and she liked it very much. Congratulations to the chef.
Dessert: The only miss: The cake was so big that it could easily serve six. The two of us could eat only half and I hate not finishing the food I order.
The food was excellent. We had a group of 8. My only criticism is that all the food - appetizers, salads and main courses arrived at one time. We all would have liked to appreciate the various courses separately.
This is a favorite of mine but last year I was under welmed. This time however it was FANTASTIC! The food was great but our server, Stephanie made all the difference. She was outstanding. This restaurant is back in my lost of favorites again.
Great food, poor service. Our water glasses went dry and were not refilled. We finished our drinks and nobody came by to see if we wanted another one. Finally, when our waiter came by, I asked were our dinners were. Apparently a mix-up somewhere, because we were offered a round of drinks on the house. I expected more of this restaurant, because it has a fine reputation.
Great food. Crab cakes are the best anywhere.
Service very uneven we had a much better experience previously not sure we would come back
Spectacular meal from start to finish. This was an anniversary dinner...one we will remember for some time.
Excellent foot and service
