My husband and I got engaged here and we have been going to this fabulous restaurant for years!
This beautiful restaurant never ever disappoints in any way. The ambiance is perfect. The staff is very welcoming, attentive and they make sure that every thing is perfect. They make you feel very special. The food is outstanding, fresh and beautifully presented. We feel that this is the best seafood restaurant in the area. We always can't wait to return!!!!
Celebrating a 60th Birthday of a girlfriend
The 1st and 2nd plates were amazing!! The 3rd was NOT good!! I was highly disappointed!
Nelson was our sever and he went above and beyond for us. His explanations of the food were spot on and his recommendations were as well. This is the perfect place for a special occasion or just for family to have fun. Thank you Nelson for treating us like super stars!!
Excellent service. Tuna was great. Starters were ok. Space looks a little tired.
Stephanie and Tomas provided exceptional service with both an upbeat attitude and smiles. The fresh Coho Salmon was perfect!
Beyond exceptional service!! The food was excellent. I need live-in Oceanaire staff in my home.
Food and Nelson were awesome.
We made the mistake of ordering Alaskan King Crab out of the shell. What we got were tiny pieces that looked like they came out of a can. Either they served us some old crab that they had lying around, or the person who took the meat out of the crab legs totally butchered it! In any case, it didn’t taste like freshly cooked crab meat.
Not my first time. I really enjoyed the overall experience.
From the moment you enter, attentivebut not intrusive service abounds. A bit pricey but worth it!
The waiter was exceptional and the host was very welcoming and accommodating
We were visiting DC and wanted to eat in a good seafood restaurant, and this restaurant did not disappoint! We were easily able to get a reservation even though the restaurant was quite full. We loved the decor and ambiance, but the best part was obviously the food! Both my husband and I had the mixed seafood plate and although they were different from one another, they were both fabulous. The scallops were cooked perfectly, the sauces were subtle and flavorful and the crab cake was delicious - only enough filler to hold it together and great flavor! My husband had what was one of the biggest prawns I've seen served in a restaurant. They had a very extensive wine list and nice dessert selection as well. The service was ok, not bad but not great as our waiter really only seemed interested in chatting with us right before he was about to serve us the bill and get tipped. The restaurant is NOT cheap and some of the entrees I did feel were overpriced, but the food was delicious and I would still recommend this restaurant for anyone that appreciates great seafood and doesn't mind pay a little more for it. Great special occasion place!
Excellent food, the Seabass was definately worth the visit.
Food was soso. Came very quickly. Courses were served too close together.
Value was good. Labor Day special.
The food was great I just feel like I’ve had better on other days.
Always a great dinner at Oceanaire! Great food and great service!
Expensive, but worth it. We go every time we're in DC
Lovely place. Very comfortable and attractive. Food was excellent and the service was spectacular.
Nice dinner, friendly staff, pleasant environment. Food is consistently good.
Branzino filleted by server was poorly done leaving many many bones. Dessert sundae and frenetic brûlée was excellent.
Waitress not the nicest. Crab legs were bland. Otherwise all food was great.
The Oceanaire has upscaled the food and ambiance. I have been very pleased with it, and it is a great place for business meetings. It usually isn't as loud as some other restaurants in the area.
We went for my son’s bday dinner, they had (one of) the menu personalized for him. The hostess, manager and the waiter all wished him a happy birthday once they saw us. And at the end, they gave us a baked Alaskan for dessert. The only thing was, there wasn’t a chance for us to sing bday song to him and he wasn’t able to below out a candle for his bday.
It was my son’s birthday. He had a special menu that said Happy Birthday. The wait staff was very attentive and accommodating. Excellent service and food. The dinner ended with a birthday Baked Alaskan The was fantastic.
Did not realize they were a chain and part of Landry's Seafood. The ambiance was nice and the service was good, but the price of the meal was about a third more than it should have been. The quality of the ingredients was poor, like something you'd get at a half-rate chain. The filet mignon was thin (less than 1.5 inches) and appeared to be mechanically tenderized. It was cooked properly, but lacked any real juicy quality or pleasing texture. My clam chowder tasted fine but the ingredients (clams, potatoes, bacon etc.) were all diced to a quarter of an inch cubes giving it a boring texture where you couldn't tell when you were eating clams or bacon or what. Other meal components were similarly uninteresting. It was simply put, a lackluster dining experience.
It was great food and great double date. The food was delicious and worth a return trip soon. The waiter was great she was on top of everything. There was no complaints.
They never disappoint! The food was delicious and the service was excellent.
My birthday ended with a phenomenal dinner with amazing service from Maynor!
I have been plenty of times but the last time the food was not as great as usual and the staff seemed very unfocused on the customer experience.
From the moment we entered the restaurant we were treated with such great service. Courtney was our waitress, very nice and pleasant. Amazing food!
This restaurant is the bee's knees! Wonderful service and classy atmosphere. The food is a bit on the pricey side but well worth it. Highly recommended!
It was Fantastic and Everything we hoped for!
Why do you guys participate in Restaurant Week if your staff is going to be rude about it? Courtney came to the table and was extremely nice and informed us of the specials but quickly flipped the script when we said we would order from the restaurant week menu. She pushed my table through all courses in 45 minutes flat. She would not box our to go items like we witnessed her do the tables around us. We're drinkers and chose not to drink like we normally do because she was rushing us through to get us out of there. Also the manager never came to check on us like he did the tables around us. I will NEVER come back and intend to prevent my family and friends from coming either. Straw that broke the camel's back was that were rushing us, 2 bladed head men that we found Courtney's hair in our lobster mac & cheese. (See photo)
Food and Service were very good. We went during restaurant week - so the cost was more reasonable than it would be normally, so a good value. It is a good place to eat if you are attending a performance at the Warner theater.
I have eaten at this restaurant about six times but this is my last. Too many good restaurants in D.C. to go back here. They put my wife and I at a table that was so small you could not even put the salt and pepper shakers or the candle on the table. The table needed to be at least 1/2 times larger. Guess they need the money but when we left there were larger vacant tables available. The Swordfish tasted fishy which was unusual. The rest of our meal was good. Anyway a bad experience!
Great and friendly service.
Very enjoyable dining, exquisite food selection as well as friendly and courteous service .
