I had a 25th Wedding anniversary with my wife and daughter. Food was superb as usual and service (table server - Robert) was excellent. I highly recommend to use this fine restaurant for any special occasions or meeting, social functions or even just casual out. You would happy to have dine with them. Thanks Oceanaire to make our 25th Wedding Anniversary memorable!
Our waiter, Freddy was very friendly and efficient. The food was delicious.
Excellent food and service. This location has secluded areas to conduct business. Wait staff was great!
Fantastic food, service and ambiance! Would definitely recommend.
We loved our waiter Carlos. He made the evening for us.
The waitstaff was very attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu items and wine selections. We ordered a variety of menu items: shrimp, fish, scallops, calamari, crab cakes, and even the chicken chop, and all were perfectly prepared and delicious!
My husband and I had an amazing meal at Oceanaire on our first trip to DC together. I made reservations months in advance, I did not know it was a chain and I did not know it part of the Mortons family. Everything was delicious. We were not prepared for the bill - it blew us both away. I don't know how two people, with one appetizer each, one entree each, a total of five drink and a side salad was $400+. That's all I am going to say. It was shocking. It was delicious, but it was in no way a $400 meal.
It was delicious food and the service was exceptional, so the review is not reflective of the food or the people who work there. The food was delicious but it was also quite expensive. My father and I dined out for special occasion and the bill came out to $200 for two people.
I would do it again, as we both would, it was just a little pricy.
The team that work at this establishment is unbelievable. Extremely professional, friendly and really care about the jobs they do, service they provide, quality of the food they deliver to the customers.
We’ll return again and again.
Pino, Giovanni, Shad and the entire Oceanaire team are beyond compare. They set a standard beyond compare.
Overpriced. Small piece of salmon was 42 dollars. Oyster Rockefeller were excellent
My wife and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary there this past weekend. Our Waiter, Carlos, was awesome. My wife and both had the Shrimp Scampi, which was amazing. We had a great experience, and will definitely visit again.
The food was good and the service was excellent. This is a perfect restaurant for any occasion. I have to say the food is over priced.
Carlos was a great server
The food: we ordered claim chowder and it was Luke warm not hot, ordered scallops and it was over seasoned and over seared to burnt.
The busboy was annoying, he would come by and snatch utensils and plates. I don’t think he was experienced in his job.
Our server, Miner, was ver courteous and attentive.
The food was fantastic! Especially the clam chowder and oysters. Baked Alaskan for dessert too - incredible!
Service was great and food was amazing. Took my girlfriend for her birthday, and they brought out a birthday desert for her. When I’m back in DC we will return.
I love love live this place. I went twice in a week. My waiter was Carlos and he is just fabulous. He remembers what I like to eat and drink.
Excellent food and good service in a club-like atmosphere. Noise level good for talking. Pricey... but not so much that we wouldn’t go back.
A little expensive, but very good service and flavor.
Service was initially excellent, but then we were left without contact for quite some time. Had to speak with the manager - then all was much improved
Stuffed lobster was amazing as well as the Brussels sprouts
The lights in the restaurant were too dimly lit. If you’re going to have them so low, please think of putting small lamps or lighting of some sort at each table in the dining room. I asked if the lights could be turned up a bit where we were seated, the waiter said that he asked the manager to try and do something, but nothing happened nor did anyone address whether or not they could so, after my initial request. I understand sexy dinner mood lighting, but that was way too dark.
The food and drinks were absolutely delicious. I t never disappoints. I brought my best friend there and she wAs so impressed.
We went to Oceanaire Room for my friend’s birthday on Thursday 10/24. We asked the waiter to give us a few minutes to decide on food, but a few minutes turned into 25-30 minutes. Once we did order, it took much longer than normal for our food to come out - we didn’t order anything fancy - salmon, crab cakes, lobster tail, pasta and sides. I think overall our food was good. I ordered the twin lobster tails stuffed with crab and they were good. The brussel sprouts were lacking however, especially for $14. They were undercooked and under seasoned - I’ve had better at less expensive restaurants.
As we were eating and some of us started finishing up, the assistant waiter started to clear food without asking us if we were actually finished with our meals. He also reached over one of the girls and her food to hand me my to go box instead of just coming a couple of steps around her to give it to me. She could smell that he just smoked a cigarette which is completely unappetizing.
Lastly, the restaurant called me to confirm the reservation earlier that day. They asked if it was a special occasion and I said yes, it my friends birthday. They said they would do a complementary dessert for her but instead of bringing the dessert, we got the checks and I had to get up to ask about bringing it out. The waiter claims he never saw it on the ticket - so I’m not sure what the point was of calling and asking in the first place.
Because I’ve been to Oceanaire before this trip was particularly disappointing due mostly to the service. I’m not sure if it was because our party was large (7 people) or because we were a group of black women, but I won’t be returning here. The food was not that spectacular for the price and the service was subpar. I would expect more from a restaurant at this level.
First night in DC
Excellent crab cakes and king crab. Best oysters I’ve ever eaten!
The entire experience was wonderful. Besides the amazing food and wine, the service was impeccable.
Our server, Carlos, was outstanding! I hope to have him serve me at my next business meal!
Very good option to spend wonderful moments !The crab cake is delicious, the fish is tasty.Good standing of the service and atmosphere.I will come back !
Overall very good! Food was tasty lobster tails could have been warmer but still very good. overall we were happy.
Reliable and good. Disappointed that OpenTable reservation for 7:15 apparently transmitted as 8:15. Fortunately, I had screen shot, but PITA and not a welcoming start for a restaurant I frequent often, when I am in town.
Enjoyed everything about the place!!
Will be going back!!😊😊
All was great. I'd recommend to add more light . It was a bit dark to read the menu and we had to use the flash light app from the phone. :)
Fantastic seafood and always fantastic service! I have been going to this restaurant for years and am never disappointed. Highly recommend!
My wife and I had dinner at 6:30 on a Saturday. I ordered crab cakes and my wife had shrimp scampi. We split a side of grilled asparagus. Our food came out VERY quickly. In fact it arrived about 15 minutes before our drinks. We debated whether we should order a second round. Would the drinks arrive long after we’d finished eating? It ended up being a moot question because we didn’t see our waitress again until after we’d eaten and our plates had been cleared.
The food itself was fine. Actually the asparagus was perfectly grilled. The seafood was nothing special though.
The restaurant was not very busy, although a couple of large tables were seated after our food arrived.
Total dining time: 45 minutes
Cost with tip: $170
Feeling at the end of dinner: Disappointed and a little hungry.
I feel like at that price point we should have had slightly better service and/or amazing food.
Great food. Excellent service. Ask for Vic
Always a great spot for lunch or dinner.
Started with tomato mozzarella salad, which was good but served too cold, and oysters, which were very good. We both had the lobster roll. The bun was proper and buttery, but the filling consisted of only small bits of lobster and tasted mostly of celery. We were disappointed there were no chunks of lobster, which would have elevated it. While the food was a bit of a let down, especially at the menu's price points, the service was excellent and the ambiance was nice.
What a lovely dinner to share with friends tonight. Everything was wonderful!!
