Oceanaire Seafood Room - DC
Book your next event with us
Good food and nice friendly service. The hash brown was a bit odd - wouldn’t have that next time. Everything else near perfect but at a cost
Wonderful experience, great food & service!
Birthday was the event and all was perfect! So was the Lobster Mac and Cheese 😩🙌🏾😍😍
We got there 15 mins late so let say 11:15pm however the still was very welcoming and managed to make sure we got everything we came for. The food was also Devine!!!!!!👍🏾
Valentine’s Day for two. Food and drinks felt a bit overpriced. Appetizers were better than mains (one of us loved our main and the other thought it was just okay). Despite the volume of customers, staff was quick and polite. If you’re gonna spend $200+ there are better places to do it, but otherwise a decent spot for seafood in the heart of DC.
Food was not worth the amount of money spent. Our server was not hospitable. He did not check on us, he simply took our order and we did not see him again until we asked for the check. I had high hopes that my husband and I will enjoy our Valentine’s Day here, however IT WAS A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. I will not recommend this place to anyone and definitely will not be visiting again.
My honey and I recently celebrated Valentines Day here. We loved our table in the offset room. Very intimate! It was magnificent. Our waiter Carlos went above and beyond. The food was outstanding! We started with a dozen oysters, 2 different kind, that were delicious and well shucked. I had the Alaskan king crab legs that came with 2, but they were huge! Lol. Tasty and more than enough. I took one home lol. My honey had the rockfish which he said was just okay. He fishes for his own so he's a little selective in that lane lol. However, the sides were very good and very generous! The sides can feed 4 people. We had the lobster mac & cheese, sauteed brussel sprouts, and the sauteed spinach. Scrumptious! Great food washed down with Moet for the occasion. The creme brulé for desert was wonderful as well.
There was a couple across the room where the lady was very loud at times. Everyone was a little annoyed by her loud nature. Eventually, she got the message as some people would turn around and scowl and she then lowered her tone.
Overall, we had a very lovely time and would definitely come back. The coat check was much appreciated too. Thank you!
Overall Good experience
This restaurant is way overrated. The grilled branzino was very good although a bit overcooked. Homard Thermidor’s taste was ruined by putting grated cheese on it before grilling (a dumb idea). The homard bisque was most linely not made and the grilled octopus had been grilled long time ago and was just reheated before serving it. All this is very disappointing. Poor value for the price (over $200 for two guests). Inattentive if competent service and rather noisy rooms. The worse? Very uncomfortable chairs. How is that possible?
The food and drinks were great! My only complaint would be the how close the tables were together. In their defense, it was Valentine’s Day but having to move a two top table out in order to get in is a little annoying. Overall, it’s was a very nice dinner, luckily the couple next to us was friendly because we could hear each other’s conversations which lead to group conversation.
It was a "nice" meal but nothing spectacular. I visited the Orlando Oceania a few weeks back and this was outstanding! The ambience, food and service was very nice in Orlando. The DC location is "ok". Seemed too casual and lacked intimacy. Too open and felt like a large ballroom feeding lots of people. Food was fresh and service was very good as well. Just not the same experience or "feel" I had in Orlando.
My last name was wrong in the system I updated in the app open table from Bedi to Washington. I ❤️❤️❤️ this restaurant the management is great the food is great and a beautiful atmosphere 💯💯👍🏼👍🏼 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🔥treat your self you will not be disappointed 😊
I brought my family to Oceanaire for Valentines Day and I must say the food was on the same scale as Mastro’s in Beverly Hills and Nobu in Malibu. Our server “V” was amazing. We left there satisfied and our meal was the discussion of night.
Excellent food and service! We loved it!!!
my first time... will be back!
You can never go wrong with Oceanaire. Every aspect from the moment i entered was smooth. I feel safe recommending it to anyone looking for a solid location for a lunch meeting. I’ve not been for dinner but would assume it’s the same. I’ve been a patron for over 5years.
Great food and service.
Nice valentine's day lunch. Avoided the hustle and bustle of the evening rush.
A good seafood choice in downtown DC, but the prices are a bit of a killjoy. Great oyster selection, both west and east coast and local Virginia choices, delicious, but at close to 50$ a dozen, well... main were also good but again each main at about 40-50$ a plate, add 10% taxes and 20% service and you end up with a serious bill. So yes it was good, but would I go back? Well my stomach says yes and my bank just took my credit card away!
Food was amazing and service was just as amazing. I would recommend this place to anyone. Price of the food wasn’t as bad as I thought either
Amazing as always the lazy mans lobster is a must try and the baked Alaska is the best finish on the menu. Great service and great food.
I've never had a bad experience at any Oceanaire, however DC is my favorite!
This place is outstanding..... ................. ....
Overall excellent meal and service. Noise level was high.
Total disaster and disappointment
We enjoyed the lighting and the ambiance. The food was delicious and the wine was wonderful.
Our waiter rarely checked on us. This was breakfast and the bacon was limp and barely cooked. My water glass went empty for 5+ minutes. I had to ask for jelly. Very poor service. Prior to this visit, I never had a complaint.
Waited quite a long time to get my order taken then they gave me the wrong dish. Food was ok. I’ve had much better food for less money.
Pretty restaurant. Good service food was good but overpriced so no I would not recommend to anyone unless it is paid with an expensive account. There are plenty of restaurants in DC with great food and better price range. We were 3 we just had one dish each and shared one desert and one average bottle of wine and it was over $200.
Consistently high quality seafood in a comfortable and welcoming space. Should be on everyone's rotation.
Great find but scampi had too much butter. Overall, great meal. Service was excellent
I'll be back. Well worth it. Had a small congressional group from TN. They loved it too
Food was excellent, as well as the service. Worth the money.
Our waitress was excellent!! She was very personable and attentive! We come every year to Oceanaire during January when we attend a meeting here. This was our very best experience as of yet!!!
The food and drink were excellent. The calamari appetizer was crisp, not rubbery, with a very nice presentation. There were three in our party. One had the mahi-mahi on an onion base. The fish was cooked to perfection and the onions, a nice complement. The other the salmon, also beautifully done. The third had the Lobster bisque soup that had a nice amount of lobster meat, followed by the scallops with asparagus and risotto. While all three main courses were excellent, this was far and away the best dish of the three. My mouths waters in recall. We ended our meal with the Baked Alaska which was shared between the three of us. This is the place to dine for those special occasions. Highly Recommended.
Everything was great.
My husband and I had dinner at Oceanaire in DC for my birthday. When I made the reservation on Open Table, I included that information in the notes. The restaurant got that information and treated us like royalty when we came in. Our server, Giovanni, was fantastic. He was very attentive and explained everything on the menu and answered all of our questions. The food was very delicious, and the drinks were wonderful. Noise level is pretty high in the restaurant, but that’s because it was a busy Saturday night. Overall, we had a great time, and we will definitely go back
Excellent food and service as always. Nelson our server was fantastic..
Great Service and location.
Waiter was knowledgeable and helpful a little pricey but worth
